Got mine a few days ago. Looking forward to testing some old Morgans my mom once bought at a flea market coin seller. I didn't want to damage them by having them chemically tested and there aren't any local coin shops near me that could test them in any kind of way either.

Hey, they'll be back up on Amazon hopefully within a couple weeks. Otherwise they're still up for sale available at CoinPingTest.com and eBay. They should start shipping within a few days. Hope this helps

This "ping"-er is very usefull small kit. Possible bring in yozr pocket to flee market ...
But ! My opinion ... to "ping" the coin with your finger ....is a most stupid way !!
    1. Not enough sound effect
    make ...
    2. Your dirty ( greasy) finger
can left dirt on the coin ...
    3. Try making a better sound , you just broke this "pinger" tool .
So , just hit the coin with a small wood stick , that is the best ( and only) way !!! 🙂😊😊😉☝️👍👍👍👍

Hi, if you can't get a coin to vibrate, does that mean it's fake or that I'm doing something wrong? tried testing a 1oz gold Maple with this, placed in the center as you showed, but can't get it to vibrate. I also tried the fake Eagle you sent me, and it vibrated perfectly fine, so I'm confused

Hey Mad Scientist, each coin is going to have its own unique sound characteristics. Generally the more pure a metal the shorter the duration of sound. Gold Maples tend to have a much shorter golden “ting” than a long sustaining ring. Also, some of the older generation Gold Maples are known to have no sound or very little sound. Check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/RBWAHBRiGhw/v-deo.html
      Does this help?

@@SoundMoneyMetals Yes, that probably explains it. I can hear a very slight ping. The app struggled to pick it up, but sometimes I could get 1 or 2/3. I tested another 1oz maple also, and it was much easier to hear. Thanks, that makes me less nervous.

@@mad-scientist6027 great, is it one of the .999 maples? Do you have an N52 magnet to try also?

@@SoundMoneyMetals It is from 2013, so not old. No, I'm new to testing metals. I might look into the magnet thing, thanks for the tip.
