We have Aldi, its great for vegan stuff in the UK.
The Vegan Zombie we have aldi... and asda which is I think Wal-Mart's sister. But the produce is very different. Holland and Barrett is our main 'health food's ' store. I would say tho that we are getting better with vegan produce and I think quorn who made a large range of vegetarian foods are going vegan 😊👌 vegan cheese is my real struggle . I love the taste of voilife. But my gosh it does not melt. And my gosh I miss pizza 😂

I appreciate that you care about whether sugar is vegan or not. I’ve noticed some other UA-camrs apparently don’t care and even one (World of Vegan) that said she considers all sugar to be vegan no matter how it’s produced. Love that you do your homework and care- makes it a lot easier for us. Thank you Chris. I have a question about ‘natural flavor’. Do you also ask about that? I tend to not buy stuff that has that ingredient because I’m afraid it’s not vegan. What are your thoughts? And what do you do when you see it in the ingredients list? Thanks so much for helping us out and keeping us informed. ☺️💚

This bone chard thing really pisses me off! So the only way to know is to call the companies and ask? When buying sugar is it only the white one I should be avoiding? Thanks for the video!
No, not all white sugar is bad. But it's best to buy brands that are vegan certified like Wholesome Sweeteners, Sugar in the Raw, Florida Crystals etc. I am working on a video about this.

Thanks for videos like this. As someone who is mostly home-bound, I can't waste time/energy just shopping around. Great to know of new products (at least, new to me), too. We don't have the same stores here, but great to see them. Oh, to live back East, again, bad weather or not. ☺

One of the good things about living in Australia - we haven't used bone char in years. Although we have about 1/100th of the Vegan Options, and those we have are not nearly as accessible as the US.
Dude this was an interesting video. Plus I never heard of Bone Char then I googled it. OMGOSH! HOW NASTY IS THAT EH! Well, thankfully I usually google the ingredients before I purchase, it. Most of my grocery items are simple and routine items. Thanks, bud!

I went to sams club last week and they don't have that much vegan things. My mom's dad has a BJ's card so she go's there with him some times to get organic and gluten free things.
Bjs also carries raw cashews, it’s been the only place in my area that I could find them.
Thank you for doing all the background research on these products. We don't have a BJ's but we do have many of those same products here. I will have to checkout our Sam's Club here and see if they have anything new. I usually just go there for bulk spices and kitchen staples like rice, flour and sugar. I will have to check out the convenience foods next time. ;)
I still read labels even if it says vegan! I've found that sometimes they aren't really vegan. Also bee pollen has a vegan certified logo on it...Hmmmm

I am a loyal Costco shopper but this makes me want to check out my local BJ's to see what they have to offer. The Late July multigrain chips are very good!

Foods with "bonechar sugar" are only "nonvegan" if you care about the fact that the sugar has been processed through what's essentially just carbon. I'm not in a position where I could waste the money and time to try and eradicate anything that may contain bonechar sugar, yet I'm still VEGAN.
StuffZ yeah and that’s fine. Some people are ok with it and some aren’t. I’m just shining some light on those products since there is no indication on packaging that tells you this. When I first went vegan there were no vegan certifications. But I’m glad there are now days. Personally, I’ll choose the products that don’t use bone char over those that do. Back in the day there wasn’t much choice.

I mean technically from what I heard nothing "bone related" ends up in the sugar. From what I understand the bones are burned to the point that they're just carbon, and then the carbon is used to bleach the sugar via some process or something...I don't know. I mean apple juice is also apparently sometimes filtered through gelatin, and so is grape juice. There's a lot of stupid shit that goes on behind the scenes of food production that most of us probably won't ever know about, so...yeah.

I went to Costco the other day. Costco is not a vegan paradise, that's for sure. It definitely caters to meat eaters. Although, I did find big containers of hummus and lots of fruit and vegetables.

I love these videos! Please keep doing them. I have bougbt those dark chocolate coconut snacks...no more. I have more respect for those companies that are honest than the ones that claim they don't know what goes into their products. Hopefully someone at Stacy's is taking note of the feedback.
If the sugar is processed, then no go. If the sugar is white, then no go. If the company uses natural sugar, then OK!

That is so sneaky that some companies cook their products in the same oil as their meat containing items, but they don't have to label it.
Yeah, I'm glad I contacted them. That's why I always contact companies if they don't have the vegan label.
What size of your Go Vegan hoodies do you wear? I’m going to order one and trying to decide what size to get. I’m 5ft9 and like them a bit roomy to fit long sleeve shirts underneath for these cold MN winters. Do they shrink at all? I’m thinking a large? And how long does shipping typically take? Thanks Chris

Here in Western Massachusetts it is expensive here. For now my store of choice is Stop & Shop but I do have a Costco and BJ's here but I might do BJ's because that one is the closest.

That bone chard thing freaks me out. Makes me NOT use Domino sugar at all! I wish there were more vegan or vegetarian only companies out there, because every time I buy a vegan product that is still made by Nestle or any of the other large companies, I still support them, but then this is a carnivorous world, we just can't win them all.... LOL Apologies for the speech, but that has been on my mind. And thank you for the video. I love those Terra chips and the Harvest Snaps.
Well all of the Dominoes facilities are vegan friendly and don't use bone char except the one in CA and LA. So out here it's all vegan. I addressed Nestle in the Target video and they wrote back about using sugar that is sometimes processed with bone char.
I understand what you mean, but I feel bad still giving money to those kind of companies. Even if I don't buy that particular product, I still support the company. Of course, I know there is no way around that in the long run, because the companies are got so big now that they make all sorts of products. It is just depressing for me, personally, but I understand the system.

*I* hate that walnuts are so expensive. Oddly enough, the cheapest good quality[they also tend to be close to rancid most places] ones I have found were the WhoFoo own brand in the zip top bag. I've seen BJ's in No Egg Craig's videos and it looks like an upstate NY version of Costco, maybe? They certainly have a phenomenal selection of vegan foods, so TFP : )
