      It's either 1 rhombus, or 2 parallelograms. It's most definitely NOT 2 rhombi. They could call it a rhombus logo, but not a rhombi logo.

    30k starting price before taxes, title, addons, dealer 'market adjustment' etc etc. 35k is more realistic out the door for a base model. Add in the fact Dodge, Jeep and Alfa don't do very well in reliability surveys. Maybe this will be the one without issues, but I doubt it.

      I understand the staff over at Alfa Romeo (both in Italy and stateside) were pretty upset when Stellantis dropped that bomb on them. The reason Stellantis elected to do this apparently is for CAFE (Corporate Average Fleet Economy) standards set by the federal government in the states. Dodge's fleet needed a more frugal car to offset the their less fuel-efficient offerings. Alfa in the United States will surely loose some potential customers to Dodge, which is a shame. I personally prefer the styling of the Alfa, hands down (the Hornet is nice though), but if Alfa charges much of a premium for their Tonale over the Hornet, you'd have to be pretty hard-core Alfisti to be swayed.
      Fiat is hanging on by a thread stateside, though it was recently announced that Fiat will be selling the all electric version of their new 500 city car over here. No idea how that's going to work out, and a lot could happen between now and January, 2024 (the announced projected launch date). I'd hate to see Fiat leave, as I have two of them, and as in the case with you, Tony, they've been solid, reliable vehicles (2014 500L with 90K miles, owned since new, and virtually zero problems (PCV valve seal allowed a drop of oil occasionally on the exhaust manifold, a new seal fixed it for about $40), tight as a drum still, drives as new, looks, nearly new, just an excellent car for us. Same with our 500X (2017 model year), no problems at all, doesn't burn any oil, fairly fuel efficient. Really love the 1.4 liter turbo in the 500L best though.

      @@bellaguzzigriso6350 I also had a 500L and loved it. Had to trade for something bigger, but it was such a fun car. It's great that they're bringing the new 500e to the USA, but I'm wondering where they are planning to sell them, since most Fiat dealers have shut down or divested to other brands. FWIW the original 500e was hugely popular in Southern California, I used to see multiple on the road per day (now down to maybe once per week).

    I say give it a couple of years to see if it's going to be reliable. At some point the players at Stellantis are going to have to prove that they can compete for quality with their peers. I can overlook a few performance and styling fails if it's reliable for the long term. The jury is still out here and with the frenzy of offerings in this segment (and the anticipated pricing) they can't afford to release another turd to the market. We'll see soon enough if their promised quality efforts are real or just hype.

    Feast your eyes on the new Alfa Romeo Hornet. Not the only jeep product built by Alfa Romeo. All ready know of a couple Renegades at a Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership they can’t repair. Not able to get parts thru Stellantis. Dealer is being threatened with lawsuits. So sad to see the poor quality offered. This is a vehicle being sold with a 1.3 liter turbocharged motor. Pushed so hard it will not last

    Stop! Here's the problem. This is basically a reworked Alfa Romeo. Since when has Alfa built anything worth anything? Jeep was ruined by Fiat and here is another example.

    And this is FIAT junk. Made in Italy. I drove a FIAT in Germany in the late 70's. I drove it for 3 years and it was junk. Blowing smoke at 70,00 miles.

    NEVER buying a Dodge. Just for a comfortable ride alone; you practically need a chiropractor after going more than 50 miles.

    Always hated Dodge. Probably still do. Garbage since the 1980s. But the Tonale is gorgeous. Probably similar garbage quality though. I'd rather have a Civic hybrid or Civic 2.0 and add a turbo kit to it. Or just get a used small wagon.

    Why would you make the "fastest small crossover in America" when you could make a hot hatch instead? It would handle better, be more efficient, and work just as well for everything anyone is actually going to use it for. You stuck a hatchback on stilts just so it could pretend it can go off-road.

    Only Dodge can release an all new Dodge and have it be an Alfa which in itself was a Jeep.. Front end looks very awkward, but the rear end looks great. Not a fan of that ZF 9 speed auto at all. My only real concern about this product

    Well I don't want the wheels and rims, They add a humongous price to it. I want the standard wheel and tire. The ones that are more affordable and will not ruin the rim if you hit a pot hole and the tires are MUCH cheaper than those smaller tires with much less rubber.

    "dodge says this will compete with hot hatches such as a mini cooper JCW. the one thing this as that those don't is ground clearance"
    so it has the one thing the is the key difference between a hot hatch a sub compact crossover but yet still competes with them? does a dodge ram compete with a ford maverick because they both have a bed despite being completely different vehicle classes with different uses? sure maybe people will step into a hornet instead of a mini cooper but please don't kid yourself that that buyer is getting this because it has equal sporting prowess in a more practical size. They go on to say that its the fastest suv under 30k?? is it the slowest hot hatch under 30k so they had to compare to the actual competitors??

  • @pbentsonable
    @pbentsonable Рік тому

    They need to work on keeping the price lower on it and hope it doesn’t follow in the footsteps of the Dart and Caliber. Backseat could use more legroom. It feels more subcompact.
