Maybe my last round of fun facts. Strap in: *The Challenge* - Penelope has been weaving that shroud for years. Finally, she’s decided to give them a challenge, knowing they can’t accomplish it. There are different versions of how the bow is made/enchanted, but the gist is that only Odysseus can string it. Her line “I’d rather die than grow old without the best of you”, at first, sounds like it might mean she’d rather die than marry someone who can’t match her husband, but no. She’s saying, “Only my husband can do this. I’d rather die than marry one of you.” Spartan badass is a badass. And hearing _them_ sing Penelope, when we’d previously only heard Odysseus sing her name in love and longing for her. (Minus Zeus’ choir from the beginning). It really pulls at the heartstrings, but also does a good job indicating how much pressure they are putting on her to choose. Hold Them Down - in Ancient Greece, not having a body to bury is one of the worst things you could do. Having no body to find, meant Telemachus wouldn’t be able to pass into the afterlife. They wanted to ensure he would _never_ be able to rest, even in death. While Antinous is singing about what he’ll do to Penelope, you can hear her instrument screaming in the background. *Odysseus* - “Polyphemus”, “Scylla”, “Charybdis”, all the monsters he faced. The king came home and slaughtered just as they had. There are several references in the song. They’re chanting his name in the background in the same way Polyphemus’ name had been chanted, but it’s also a throwback to the souls’ chants in No Longer You. We also finally get Tiresias’ final prophecy- “kill all the suitors for love). Other references, we obviously have Scylla for the torches. The “No” after that suitor asked for mercy is a reference to Odysseus asking Poseidon for mercy during Get in the Water, and he also replied with a cold “No”. When Telemachus first arrives we can hear a Quick Thought, our first hint that Athena is still alive. Each of his blade strikes/blocks beat to motifs- Little Wolf, Legendary, Warrior of the mind, then Odysseus’ theme. *I Can’t Help but Wonder* - “if I have your strength in me.” “The strength you hold within.” Odysseus told Telemachus he doesn’t need _his strength,_ because Telemachus has become a strong young man during his absence. “Capture wind and sky for you”, in a way he did with Aeolus and the storm. Odysseus sensing Athena was there showed just how close they had been. He knew she was watching without even seeing her. In the end, though, different tunes play as they part to show their mindset. Athena has Warrior of the Mind, and Odysseus has Penelope’s theme. Would You Fall in Love with Me Again - he said “waiting for love”, not “waiting for me”. Odysseus knew there was a chance she wouldn’t accept him after everything. You can hear Poseidon’s trumpets/theme of “Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves” in the background when he says “left a trail of red on every island”. At trader friends like objects I could use”, we hear Zeus’ theme. The olive bed is the heart of the house. Odysseus met Penelope there, then built his entire palace around what he made for her. When she asked him to move it not only was it a test to see if he _knew that,_ but also if he was willing to literally uproot the start of their journey. The monster rises, his rage bubbling when she asked, but Penelope didn’t recoil. Our legend not only accepted him, but she _met him_ on the monster’s level. Odysseus was her husband, and he returned. Odysseus’ first words in the series are battle commands. His final are telling Penelope how much he loves her. WYFILWMA has _beautiful_ livestream animation, Hold Them Down has a great end scene, and ‘Odysseus’ is insane, as well. The Challenge is really the only one that doesn’t have an animatic, just one beautiful drawing of Penelope looking longingly at the viewer. I can’t recommend and praise the livestream versions of each song more.
In Ximena’s she put references to The Odyssey. She drew Odysseus being recognized by his nurse, highlighting the scar that gave him away. When she came over and touched his shoulder, in The Odyssey, Odysseus told her to get the women away because he was about to _slaughter._
3:48:00 I haven't seen anyone say this yet, so, I might as well say it Odysseus' bow was a "palintonos bow", which means "bent or stretched backwards". Alot of strength has to be put into it to bend the bow to the correct shape when strung, since it's usual shape is more of a "C" when unstrung, instead of just being completely straight when unstrung like normal longbows
@@icemagiciangh thank you, I just wished I had noticed the audio failure before uploading it, but besides that, it absolutelly the video I'm most proud of right now and I love reading peoples reactions to it jsjsj
9:38 Narrator voice: *it was indeed, four hours* 2:57:55 To answer your question, Athena's philosophy is being smart about things, especially conflict. It's either you avoid the fight or you win it completely. Ody failed because a) he didn't finish an enemy that would very much go after him and his men if given the opportunity and b) after escaping his foe, he gave his name when he could've left quietly and the ciclop would've never figured it out his identity. He failed her test and defied her only to do things halfheartedly leading to problems down the line. That's not being smart, and Athena hated seeing him shoot himself in the foot when she knows how capable he is, but he was struck with grief and made an irrational choice that fucked him over. She says "One day you'll understand [her teachings/philosophy]" and he does by the end of the saga, but he had to suffer to do so. 3:33:18 I fucking CACKLED 😂 There's a good animation where Ody uses the wind to cause some sort of tornado to throws rocks at Poseidon, that's my favorite depiction of the fight
Hear me out, the open arms philosophy wasn't lost in Monster, and it wasn't lost in Scylla or Thunderbringer. After everything Ody went through, when he finally faced Poseidon again, he still tried to use open arms to appeal to Poseidon during Get in the Water. But when he's drowning and saw Polites one last time, and he sings "you can relax my friend" instead, this is where Open Arms dies, and Ody has truly become the monster.
Poseidon in Ruthlessness was literally like a parent who is mad that his son got beaten up by Odysseus he is literally like a dad whose little son got hit by some other kid and he can go that far to even traumatise the kid for hurting his son omg
in terms of the bow being "impossible", it's two things; one it's been made by heracles as a tutoring bow and so requires at least some degree of demigod strength. Two, it's a palintonos, or old greecian recurve bow (a bow that curves forward of the bowman's grip at rest and needs to be pulled back when strung), and those were rare back then. Recurves require technique to successfully string it, on top of strength. Fitting for a greecian hero of wit and his witty wife's challenge
3:28:20 , Hi so, the reason he has to have the windbag is because Aeolus agreed to hold the storm so long as Odysseus keeps the windbag closed. The stipulation is likely he has to keep the windbag on him and just not open it (or the storm is released), so to honor his deal, he has to do that.
2:09:54 I heard a comment theorize that because all sirens are female, that was actually a young siren that siren Penelope pulled up. 2:12:42 Apparently it’s not the fact that Poseidon is scared of Scylla, but the fact that Charybdis is Poseidon’s daughter turned monster, and he hates seeing her like that.
Best yet, Ody killing all the suitor is not only justified, but ENCOURAGED by Zeus. The Suitors effectively have been bumming around his castle while he was away for years, and have basically been abusing the Laws of Hospitality to do whatever they want, but by planning ill will against their hosts effectively brought divine retribution upon themselves, in the form of Odysseus. God sanctioned murder spree with no repercussions are rare in Greek myth due to how sacred treating one's guests is supposed to be but the story is effectively a good reason why Guests should be kind to their hosts as well, parable style.
Right, didn't some of the families of the suitors attempt to come after Odysseus only to get lightning struck near their forces as a sign from Zeus like, "Back off"? I could be wrong, though. 😅
I’m not sure who put all of that together, but canon visuals are sprinkled in. I sadly can’t go line by line to tell you which are official, but during ‘Little Wolf’ when Athena pulls Telemachus into a Quick Thought that’s the canon design of that mind scape. A lot from the Wisdom Saga are canon bits, including the lightning strike, him on the cliff and a lot of God Games. The canon for Little Wolf is in a video game style, though.
Oohh sick this video has the canon animatics and such in there too! Nice! For reference, the canon animatics are (usually) the ones that are fully colored. 44:28 break your heart some more Matt, that one is canon. His body rolling infront of him
The bow has an insane draw weight, Odysseus is just that guy, in the Odyssey he's was stronger than a normal human. But it"s not just this, there's also a trick to string the bow properly that only him knows. They had no chance
The reason that Odysseus had such a hard time killing the Cyclops is because Polites had such an everlasting effect on him, and so do many others. Odysseus also has an effect on Athena. I love this musical so much 🫶
AHHHH!!! I’ve been ✨waaaaaiting✨ for the Ithaca Saga reaction but THIS IS SUCH A TREAT! I’m so excited for this thank you for doing a full listen through I love that this was the route you decided to take!
2:39:25 my favorite take on this scene has to be Neal Illustrator's. Mostly because Eurylochus doesn't run or attack Ody, he stands still and accepts his fate 2:47:52 If I remember correctly hes the same age as Telemachus. He's actually younger than Telemachus in the original myth 3:54:46 In the original myth this guy was the only half decent person among the suitors
Worlds best tasting wine: in the original Odyssey Odysseus gets the cyclopse drunk off his ass with unmixed (basically really strong) wine (no lotuses involved). He spins this whole story about how this is the rarest bestest wine in the world that was personally given to him by a priest at a famous shrine, and the wine is so exclusive that even the regular servants at this shrine didn't know it existed. Original Odysseus is kind of a pathological lair tbh. So in all likelihood its just regular ass wine. I do really love that Jorge makes reference to the original story though!
58:59 So, the 2 years later part is ASSUMED by the creator of that video, as Circe Saga takes place immediately after Ocean Saga and in There Are Other Ways Odysseus says it has been ‘12 long years’ rather than ten. However, Jorge himself has said that line was a mistake and in canon it’s still been ten.
2:45:08 The reason it feels like Hercules is because Hercules is a Disney movie and Legendary is quite literally an I Want Song. An I Want Song is something that a whole bunch of Disney (and stuff like it) musicals have where the main character basically sings about what they want. For Hercules it’s “Go The Distance” Fun fact, this is what the Disney Princess allegations came from
1:59:55 The beat there is a waltz. I could be wrong but I think watzls are used in carousels sometimes, or else use a similar staccato notes. On this note, there is a partial animatic of just that section of the scene as a waltz that I really enjoy and would recommend just for fun
3:28:05 so from some searching before it turns out that Aeolus trapped the winds that would prevent Odysseus and the others from getting home, leaving only the wind, called Zephyr, that favors them to help them head home. Opening the bag released the winds that opposed Ody's joirney, and hence why they ended up in Poseidon's territory. Same case for the 2nd time around. Keeping it closed allows for the wind Zephyr to push him home to Ithaca.
The armguards weren't canon to EPIC, but they were basically a symbol of Athena, proof of his ability and his identity as her student, by taking them off let alone destroying them he was renouncing her as his mentor. Also, destroying a gift was seen as a huge slight against the gifted so he did it to hurt her too.
Heck yea ive been waiting for this! Im glad you decided to watch the whole thing through again! Maybe you could do a reaction to one of the cut song compilations? It could be fun! Either way i loved seeing you go on this amazing journey and maybe we will see you react to whatever Jorge has planned next!
And further explain the diplomatic mission Athena sent him to visited Nestor and Menalaus to figure out what happened to Odysseus Athena knew nothing would happen to Penelope but she didn't want Telemachus getting killed so she timed it so that he'd arrive back after Odysseus did so they met at the beach and the plan to kill the suitors was planned once he got back
1:06:54 all this time and you still cant say his name huh😂😂😂 Eurylochus' intrument is the voice of the crew. He doesn't have a traditional instrument, but rather because hes second in command he speaks for the rest of Odys men, thus the backing vocals are his 'instrument'
1:59:56 It's actually in 3/4 time, which is a waltz! I interpret the time signature changing after Odysseus confronts the prophet as the prophet side-stepping Ody, taking the lead and steering their interaction (like the lead in a waltz). After all, he can see time in all directions, so Ody momentarily getting in his face is nothing to him and he continues with his prediction of the future.
I think it's awesome to listen all at once. You get to explore different artists for the animatics; but everything is also FRESH. You started reacting a few months ago...that's still a bit between sagas and songs which gives you a higher chance of missing easter eggs in the final sagas (unless you're listening to it everyday 🤣; I know I was at one point).
The reason Hera agreed to release Odysseus was because she's Zeus' wife and as you said, Zeus fucks... Also lot of reactors seem to be confused about how Odysseus' sword can damage Poseidon but like he's still flesh(?)... Immortal doesn't necessarily equal invulnerable. I would assume getting stabbed would hurt regardless of whether or not you can die to it xd
4:07:45 From the beginning, we saw both Odysseus and Athena clearly; despite being similarly intelligent and strategic, their core drives are very different. Odysseus, at first, wanted a friend and then his goal is his family. Athena wanted to change the world, in her mind it required a Warrior of the Mind unlike any other. Odysseus never cared about changing the world, and Athena didn't understand Odysseus wanting to show mercy or empathy at first. Now, years later...they're still who they are at their core: Odysseus only cares about his family, Athena still wants to change the world, they're just older and wiser now. And they understand each other at last which is why he says she can make her vision of the world come true, and she smiles and bids him farewell with the "My Goodbye" tune at the end of that song so he can go see his wife because she knows that's all he wants.
Im leaving another comment bc i can. I agree the one downfall of that compliation is not giving a small indication on who did what part. BUT i can also see why they cose not to since i noticed they like to edit two or more animations into each other so labeling might have gotten confusing. That being said, im glad im watching this cus im seen animatics from ppl i didnt know made animatics for certain songs. Like, i did not know Wolfy made a Polyphemus animatic but i recognized their style Edit: WOLFY DID A SURVIVE ANIMATIC TOO??? WOLFY ARE YOU HIDING FROM ME??
As much as I love the animatics, I cannot wait for you to react to the stream version for all of the sagas as it brings so much silliness to most of the previous sagas and brings so much movement (and extra information) in the Ithaca saga!
2:15:33 my personal theory is that they had some beeswax candles that they could use for light at night or below-deck or something and they used wax from those
Im only 22 min in with open arms, but i was laughing so hard when you started saying the lotus lines. I dont know why im laughing so hard at you bending down and saying "Welcome" and "Food!" 😂😂😂
3:28:20 Since Ody just got off the island, I wouldn’t be surprised if Poseidon put up the storm again, and they had to contain it with the bag yet again.
You’re right Ody was the only one who listened to the siren so he’s the only one who knew about Scylla. He didn’t even bother TRYING to explain to the crew this was truly the only way they had to get home. So of course in the crew’s perspective seeing Ody coldly sacrifice six of them to a monster, yeah a mutiny is gonna happen! “My brothers… why?” ODY YOU KNOW FULL WELL WHY! Eury killing the cow was basically suicide by god. Poseidon wasn’t letting them fish, and they were STARVING, it was either suicide by god or slowly starving to death. It was a lose-lose situation. He’d lost hope completely. Opening the wind bag? Bad move obviously, but chances are Poseidon would’ve killed those 500 men as soon as they were at Ithaca’s shores anyways. He KNEW where Ody lived cause he revealed his name to Polyphemus, and there was NOTHING to stop him from doing so! Him wanting to leave the men behind at Circe’s? Ody got LUCKY that Hermes decided to step in and help or he would’ve been dead. So of course Eury doesn’t think there’s any possible way to win against her! It’s actually Ody who changes his perspective on this by managing to save the men. In my opinion both Ody and Eury are morally gray characters who things would’ve gone better for if they could’ve just trusted each other. 💔
I ordered a sweatshirt, can’t wait for it to come in! I’m gonna order tea soon, but i need to use up some of the tea I already have before I buy more lol
OOOO THIS IS GONNA BE SICK. Perfect video to have playing while ai carve a little peeking mouse out of walnut. Now I don't have to switch videos AND I get to watch 4 hours of epic reaction from Mattables
2:32:16 At this point, it would be Helios as the Sun God, though God is something of a misnomer in this case, seeing as he was a Titan, Cousin of Zeus, and sided with Zeus and the Gods during the Titanomachy if I’m not mistaken. God of the sky, lightning, thunder, law, and order. Helios is later replaced by Apollo, who also plays a given Helios’ Chariot to pull the sun, and Apollo and his twin Artemis pull the sun and moon, respectively, across the sky creating the day and night cycle. Hope this helps!
I didn't see anyone comment this but in the original Odyssey Ody was buck naked slaughtering the suitors. Imagine this terrifying demon of a man with his jibbly bits out slaughtering everyone. Horrifying. I really liked how Telemachus is the one who left the weapons door unlocked, I can only imagine Ody hearing the suitors and just going "shit shit shit", the first time he's ever had to clean up after his kid. In the original Odyssey Athena convinces the gods to hold off the dawn so Ody & Penelope can have a longer time reuniting, Penelope also does the bed test to make sure it wasn't Zeus in disguise because he do like to be dressing himself up and sleeping with people's wives. If you haven't I highly highly recommend watching the live stream, it had such funny moments with all the cast and crew. You also get to watch their first time reactions to the Ithica saga (disgust and tears) which is priceless.
Hi friend- QUICKLY WANNA LET IT BE KNOWN- Epic is doing a collab (preordering a hoodie) or Teas, (Athena’s Quick Thought, Hermes, or Circe) THE HOODIE IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL THE 25th of January [Guilded Teaflings] - Hope all Winions, Fans of Epic can support the Crew by purchasing merch, (it comes in two colors A powdered blue or Black)!!!! 2:32:10 The sun god is Helios, and he is much older than Zeus because he was essentially with the first race of gods called titans, and whilst he is older and ancient, Zeus is just more powerful by nature because he is the god of the gods and the sky. And you were very on point with time being the only thing more powerful! The king of the titans before Zeus came along was Chronos, titan of time who is also Zeus' father!
4:05:50 he couldn't go see her himself at that point. She'd be shocked to the point of fainting. Also it's etiquette to book appointments withe royalty
im quite upset they didn't use more of Neals in Ruthlessness because just the companionship between Eury and Ody in that makes the betrayal in Mutiny and Thunder Bringer that much harder. And also that Posiden is freaking HOT. A God of water being hot, like that says something.
Also like the line "then his light went dark" in We'll be Fine. I always thought that meant went he went to Calypso's Island and Athena couldn't find him.
37:30 En el libro lleva el vino en un "gran pellejo de cabra" o algo así, así que si, Ody iba por ahí a matar ovejas con una bolsa gigante de vino divino 😂
Really wish you had watched the live stream for the last song, the animation gigi did was beautiful and there was something poetic about ending the the whole thing how we started, with Gigi, it made all the more emotional
59:59 that is NOT correct. I assume the person making this put two years because of the mistake Jorge made in the Circe Saga, where Odysseus tells Circe its been 12 years since hes seen his wife. Jorge has confirmed it is TEN years. We have the freedom to make our own headcanons about why Ody says 12, but in reality it is 10
YAY FELLOW WINION. At the beginning song, that's Zeus as the animal watching him. If I can answer more, I'll put the other responses under this comment 😆 Totally can't wait for you to watch the whole livestream itself as well so you can see all cannon. There's quite a bit of them spread throughout this. I know these instruments -Odyessus is guitar and it changes types based on mood and intentions -Athena's is piano and when in quick thought it has clock sounds as well -Poseidon is trumpets -Penelope is Viola backed by string ensembles -Hermes uses harps and arps using synth arpeggios -Zeus uses electronic bass and brass -Circe uses a string ensemble -Calypso is hand-pan and steele drum -Aeolus is flute -Polyphemus is cello and synths -Charybdis uses 5/4 time music -Sylla is fiddle and synths -Eurylochus is backed by soliders/crew -Polites is kalimba and marimba -Telemachus is indie paino, acoustic strummed guitar, and string ensemble -Antinous is grungy electric guitar, cello led string ensemble, trumpets, and backed by suitors (All of there are from Jorge himself saying it in several shorts)
To answer about the Cyclops he's also still a baby by the others standard and he told Poseidon because of Ody doxing himself in this particular version.
The sun GOD is Apollo, the twin of the moon GODDES Artemis, HOWEVER the sun god whom the cows belong to is Helios, the TITAN of the sun which means he is older, most GODS are descended from Kronos and Rhea (The parents of Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Hera, Zeus(in that order)) Apollo took over the duty from Helios sometime after the war between the Gods and Titans(Titanomachy) where Helios sided with the gods so he wasn't imprisond, instead he basically on retirement so he is a lot weaker since his Domain is under Apollo as well. Meanwhile Zeus is the God of; the sky as a whole, lightning, kingship, order, law, and the weather and the Slayer of Kronos(the strongest Titan and his father) which makes hime exceedingly powerful. Hope this helps, love the video :>
As for the cyclops, in the original story he is NOT a child. He is an adult hermit. He lives far away from everyone else so Ody & co specifically go to his house because it's further out and they only have to deal with one. They roll up when hes not home, kill some sheep ("sacrifice to the gods") and when Polyphemus gets home he finds the crew sitting in his living room eating his food and expecting to be treated as guests. The entire Odyssey is a series of vignettes about guest rights and different ways this all important societal expectation is broken.
Emily Wilson's translation of the Odyssey has a great explanation, but in summary when a guest shows up you are supposed to feed, cloth, and bathe them before even asking who they are and why they are here. Then the guest is supposed to have gifts for you and explain their story. You house them and take care of them until it's time for them to leave. You give them gifts and help them on their way.
Ah, a little bummed that you didn't watch the canon animatics livestream on Jorge's channel. I figured that would have been the easiest way to do this, since it's all in one place
2:32:13 So around this time the sun god was Helios but no the sun. God is not more powerful than Zeus. Zeus is the god of thunder/lightning and the king of the Gods 3:07:52 Zeus put him there but Calypso essentially had control over the island. She was very much a prisoner and a warden

Odysseus' bow was a "palintonos bow", which means "bent or stretched backwards". She says "One day you'll understand [her teachings/philosophy]" and he does by the end of the saga, but he had to suffer to do so.
3:33:18 I fucking CACKLED 😂
There's a good animation where Ody uses the wind to cause some sort of tornado to throws rocks at Poseidon, that's my favorite depiction of the fight
Poseidon in Ruthlessness was literally like a parent who is mad that his son got beaten up by Odysseus
he is literally like a dad whose little son got hit by some other kid and he can go that far to even traumatise the kid for hurting his son omg
in terms of the bow being "impossible", it's two things; one it's been made by heracles as a tutoring bow and so requires at least some degree of demigod strength.
THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO MY ANIMATIICCC I DID THE LAST ONEEEE
I know which one you did
Please Matty keep defending your Doctor Who take because it is a valid theory!!!!! I absolutely loved it and it was so precious!
Holy hell, four hours are about to be well spent. Thank you for this gift good sir
2:12:42
Apparently it’s not the fact that Poseidon is scared of Scylla, but the fact that Charybdis is Poseidon’s daughter turned monster, and he hates seeing her like that.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. SO THATS WHY YOU'VE BEEN SO SILENT ABOUT IT WOW WOW WOW THANK YOU
I’m not sure who put all of that together, but canon visuals are sprinkled in.
I have it in the description of the person who made it, as well as all the artists they tagged.
@@Mattablesgotcha. What do you think of canon disco Hera? 😂
Mostly because Eurylochus doesn't run or attack Ody, he stands still and accepts his fate
2:47:52 If I remember correctly hes the same age as Telemachus.
He's actually younger than Telemachus in the original myth
3:54:46 In the original myth this guy was the only half decent person among the suitors
Odysseus wasn't lying. It was given to him by a Priest of Apollo at the island of the Cicones. It really was extra strong extra rare wine.
For Hercules it’s “Go The Distance”
Fun fact, this is what the Disney Princess allegations came from
3:41:40 The reason to being so melodic is because it is music to odysseus's ears. At least that's what I believe.
And further explain the diplomatic mission Athena sent him to visited Nestor and Menalaus to figure out what happened to Odysseus Athena knew nothing would happen to Penelope but she didn't want Telemachus getting killed so she timed it so that he'd arrive back after Odysseus did so they met at the beach and the plan to kill the suitors was planned once he got back
1:06:54 all this time and you still cant say his name huh😂😂😂
Eurylochus' intrument is the voice of the crew. He doesn't have a traditional instrument, but rather because hes second in command he speaks for the rest of Odys men, thus the backing vocals are his 'instrument'
Its 3 in the morning so I won't watch this now. But I can't wait until this evening to watch this! Gonna pop some popcorn and make it a movie night
"How did Poseidon find out if he said his name was Nobody" He forgot bro doxxed himself before he left
4:07:45
From the beginning, we saw both Odysseus and Athena clearly; despite being similarly intelligent and strategic, their core drives are very different.
Like, i did not know Wolfy made a Polyphemus animatic but i recognized their style
Edit: WOLFY DID A SURVIVE ANIMATIC TOO??? WOLFY ARE YOU HIDING FROM ME??
Also the storm she was talking about was the one Ody released at the end of Six Hundred Strike
I've never clicked a video faster in my life!! I'm so mad I have DnD in 30 minutes 😂
4:12 I love re listening to this! And yes because it tells a story you can listen to it repeatedly and it's still entertaining!
1:07:00 Euryluchus instrument is the voice of the crew. As Jorge said in one of his youtube shorts.
4:09:12 it’s a popular headcanon that when he shot Antinuous he did it through the axes!
3:28:20 Since Ody just got off the island, I wouldn’t be surprised if Poseidon put up the storm again, and they had to contain it with the bag yet again.
OMG I love that you reacted to the whole thing I've been waiting since Ithaca dropped on Christmas for your reaction 🖤
37:00 Maybe they wanted to party in the cave :D that's why they had conveniently wine.
Cave party!!!!
There is EPIC merch in the guilded teafling website, A really cool sweatshirt and tea
I ordered a sweatshirt, can’t wait for it to come in! I’m gonna order tea soon, but i need to use up some of the tea I already have before I buy more lol
@@rowan13808 awesome! I love the sweatshirt so much I need it now😭😭
Hopefully he'll also react to the cut songs - some of them are hilarious
ah the next documentary to watch
1:12:49 To be fair dude, Eurylochus (eurocleese😂) might have made a different choice if Ody trusted him to hold the bag while he slept 😅
ive been waitingggg... waiting..... waiting... for this
I didn't see anyone comment this but in the original Odyssey Ody was buck naked slaughtering the suitors.
4:13:11 - 4:13:19 this had me cackling imagining it in their voices
Hi friend- QUICKLY WANNA LET IT BE KNOWN- Epic is doing a collab (preordering a hoodie) or Teas, (Athena’s Quick Thought, Hermes, or Circe) THE HOODIE IS ONLY AVAILABLE UNTIL THE 25th of January [Guilded Teaflings] - Hope all Winions, Fans of Epic can support the Crew by purchasing merch, (it comes in two colors A powdered blue or Black)!!!! HURRY
THIS IS 4 HOURS. I HAVT TO GET MY BLANKETS THIS IS GONNA BE GOOD
2:05:40 his whole decision making from here is a lot like Eren xD
So I don’t know if anyone mentioned this but I’m pretty sure multiple sagas in one story is referred to as an epic. Hence the name of the musical.
2:40:20 wait, i'm confused, i thought the underworld saga was the end of act 1
I was just looking for this omg, just finished all your other Epic vids. So excited!!❤
Mattables: "What would you call all the sagas put together?"
Title of the Production: Epic **THE MUSICAL**
Yeah, what WOULD you call it, Mattables?😂
The bow was custom made in the story and could only be strung with a specific technique.
59:59 that is NOT correct. I assume the person making this put two years because of the mistake Jorge made in the Circe Saga, where Odysseus tells Circe its been 12 years since hes seen his wife. Jorge has confirmed it is TEN years. We have the freedom to make our own headcanons about why Ody says 12, but in reality it is 10
Headcanon Ody can't count for shit😅
Ive adopted the headcanon that Polites was the one with the calendar, so when he died there was no one to keep track of the days😅
56:03 nope, no magic Athena bracers in the original :) it's just in anamatics
Matt. More than 500 were killed by Posiden.
I think the water was more to blame xD
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR REACTING TO DRAY ITS MY FAVORITE
The bag contains the storm that is blocking his way home
Ooooo! This is definitely worth the wait! Starting now!!! 💖
I know these instruments
-Odyessus is guitar and it changes types based on mood and intentions
-Athena's is piano and when in quick thought it has clock sounds as well
-Poseidon is trumpets
-Penelope is Viola backed by string ensembles
-Hermes uses harps and arps using synth arpeggios
-Zeus uses electronic bass and brass
-Circe uses a string ensemble
-Calypso is hand-pan and steele drum -Aeolus is flute
-Polyphemus is cello and synths
-Charybdis uses 5/4 time music
-Sylla is fiddle and synths
-Eurylochus is backed by soliders/crew
-Polites is kalimba and marimba
-Telemachus is indie paino, acoustic strummed guitar, and string ensemble
-Antinous is grungy electric guitar, cello led string ensemble, trumpets, and backed by suitors
(All of there are from Jorge himself saying it in several shorts)
To answer about the Cyclops he's also still a baby by the others standard and he told Poseidon because of Ody doxing himself in this particular version.
This is the bit where Jorge describes how he wanted Scylla to look. ua-cam.com/users/shortsIUfejNM-tdA?si=MTE0QU0r-PD3UwWU
Helios is the God of the Sun and was the reason they sun rises and sets as he went across the sky with his gold chariot.
Calypso in the original telling by Homer kidnapped him and held him captive.
Athena is the Goddess of War, wisdom, and crafts
3:45:31
PENELOPE WE DID NOT NEED TO SEE THAT
I highly recommend watching the stream visuals in another video. A lot of visual context is missing here.
Violating guest rites is the #1 way to piss of Zeus
IM WATCHING WITH WHILE GRINDING MARVEL RIVALS THANK YOU SO MUCHAJSVZB
Good luck in there!!
@Mattables thanks, I need it, its rough out here 🥲
I was waiting for this and now it drops when I have to go to sleep 🙈 But at least something to look forward to 😃
Totally been waiting for this 😮😅❤ yay
been so excited for this.
I still won't forgive Gigi for animating Circe climbing onto him that way. It should be illegal to make someone that attractive.
ok, so Ody's bow is a palintonos, or more a less a recurve. It would be an extremely hard to figure out bow to string
Ah, a little bummed that you didn't watch the canon animatics livestream on Jorge's channel. I figured that would have been the easiest way to do this, since it's all in one place
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
While I don’t know if it’s confirmed, but Poseidon belting beautifully might be because it is music to odys ears
4 HOURS? THAT’S ALMOST DOUBLE THE LIVESTREAM
guess I know what I’m doing
I was waiitiiingggg for your reaction
Yeah. Yeah sure I'll start a 4 hour video to Epic on a work night. What could possibly go wrong?
2:32:13 So around this time the sun god was Helios but no the sun. God is not more powerful than Zeus. Zeus is the god of thunder/lightning and the king of the Gods
3:07:52 Zeus put him there but Calypso essentially had control over the island. She was very much a prisoner and a warden
I sadly can't watch all of it in one go cause I have school tommorrow and its kind of late but I'll enjoy every part of it nontheless
