I'm too tired for this, first song is from Sonic, something "Day", then the other 2 are from other video games, I've used them before
#japan #tokyo #mountfuji
Natsuki not only raw dogged Mt. Fuji, but he did it smoking Marlboro Reds the whole way.
weakest japanese man vs average western man
Natsuki had home-field advantage.
and he was 20 to 30 years older then mudan
It is worth noting that Chris and Natsuki though properly did not bullet climb Mount Fuji. And of course Chris and additional camera people meant similar to here there was others supporting, also Natsuki was wearing more appropriate clothing.
Natsuki is a chad among betas
Why didn't you take Broad Chris with you? I heard he loves climbing Mount Fuji
idk if you're joking, but that man genuinely hates excercising.
@@acasccseea4434 You mean the guy that has now finished the Spartan race as well as climbed Mount Fuji multiple times?
@@Shadow-ashlad Don't forget, he has been part of Connor's multiple cyclethons.
U mean the guy that didn’t have hotel reservation at the top of mt Fuji and slept on a rock
If Mudan was vlogging living in any other country I'd expect him to die in one of these wtf 💀Man doesn't even realise how close he was to actual danger in this vid
pretty sure you inspired diplo to raw dog mount fuji the next day
8:48, the resolution is so crisp! Look at that sky, boi
Can I marry mudan to get residency?
Day 118 of commenting to help Mudan with the algorithm.
Idiots shouldn't go into the mountains.
I can't stand the idea of Japanese tax money being used to rescue people who get sick or fall while wearing such light clothing.
I actually know some tourists who try to climb the mountains in sandals, short sleeves and shorts, and I don't understand the point.
If you're going to travel, follow the local rules.
I welcome people who can do that.
Please don’t listen to him this time and pack warm and rain proof clothing, he did it in perfect weather so he was fine, but it can get really cold and rainy up there very quickly, especially if you climb at night. When I climbed last month, it was 6 Celsius (42 F) on the 9th station at 5pm and 0 Celsius at night, both plus wind chill. The gusts were strong enough to knock me off balance several times and even once forced me to crouch to not get blown off trail lol.
Also, bring sunscreen, I didn’t and my ears were severely sunburned. UV at high altitude is very strong even when cloudy, when I was climbing up (took 5 hours) it was cloudy the whole time, but my uncovered hands were still red and almost sunburned the next day.
Edit: what he did is called “bullet climbing” aka climbing up and down in one day without resting, you will see many signs on the mountain discouraging it, because this is how people get into serious trouble. Never underestimate the altitude and weather, this is a serious mountain and not some regular hiking trail you may find in North America.
People need to upvote this. Raw dogging this way is somewhat irresponsible. This is not a difficult climb but the temperature/altitude change is significant, and the weather is unpredictable. Anyone who does this climb needs to prepare for adverse situations.
Also pack more cash than you think. They understandably over charge for liquids, food, bathroom and sleeping accommodations. Also they sell oxygen etc for altitude sickness. Just like any trip, just be prepared.
@@bix05001 yeah and especially bring as many 100 yen coins as you can, the toilets only take 100 yen and some don’t have change/is unmanned, at least on the fujinomiya route which Mudan and I climbed
MAke sure you also bring sunscreen especially if your trail is more Eastward. There's very little shade and you don't want to get sunburnt for the rest of your trip.
@@Grey01_ yeah true, I didn’t and my ears got severely sunburned. Added to my comment.
Absolutely. He only got good weather because it was right after a typhoon had passed. And even if good weather is forecasted, conditions on the mountain can change in an instant. Then there's the fact that he climbed it during the day, which is totally different than many who want to climb it in the dark to see the sunrise, and he also had a properly prepared pack mule friend who carried other supplies.
His "just bring money and buy it on the mountain" strategy was irresponsible as well, especially since he didn't account for the price markups. Just because the huts had adequate stock at the time he filmed doesn't mean they always will (see the "sold out" lights on the vending machines) and they will also prioritize serving the guests who are paying to stay there over the bullet climbers.
Mt Fuji obviously isn't Everest, but it still requires respect.
If you are not as fit as Mudan, don’t do “bullet climb” like him, this is how people get into serious trouble. He got it easy because he didn’t have to carry anything.
Agreed. Remember that Mudan did the spartan race in a business suit... He has pretty good cardio.
@@MrNgMichael yeah that’s was crazy, but bullet climbing Fuji and the altitude still hit him like a truck even when he didn’t carry anything, so I think it’s fair to say that unless you are VERY fit you should not follow him.
Even with good physical shape, bullet climbing is inherently dangerous with unpredictable weather conditions. It certainly is an impressive feat, but still pretty stupid to do
Even Mudan suffers from altitude sickness. That's the recommended way is to go up until the 2nd highest stop, eat something, take a nap there, and then continue.
@@MrNgMichael I do wonder if in addition to having great cardio if the fact that that specific Chiba one was rolling hills helped make it feel particularly easy. But yeah hopefully they try doing the 10k or one at a ski hill in the future.
You are WAAYYYYYYY under prepared man. Please advise others don't do the same.
Anyone who watches a mudan video and thinks - thats a great idea - perhaps that is natural selection brother
17:37 Yeah, those are some of the classic symptoms of altitude sickness, it's not unusual that you didn't feel like eating (you're nauseated), and sense of malaise (legs locking up, feeling tired out of nowhere). And it's why when you reached that station when you felt that all of the "pain" went away, that station was your threshold for altitude sickness.
UA-cam man bullet climbs actual very tall volcano, hilariously underprepared, on a day with perfect weather. begins by disparaging potential difficulty, somehow avoids serious altitude sickness, and survives without issue due to physical fitness, ideal conditions, and bringing an actually prepared buddy with him. 5/10, would not replicate.
In the next video: "I am going to the Moon. I saw NASA was using rockets, but I am just gonna flap these two fans until I exit the atmosphere and once I get there I will figure out how to cover rest of the way there."
This could've been an s tier video if it didn't
Implicitly promote a dangerous way to climb mount Fuji... I'll be sticking to temples
This is like when naoya sees toji in maki. Bro, got so lucky he didn't suffer
@@lesshealers omg, just like in jujutsu kaisen
Temples will always be superior 😁
“A wise man climbs Mt Fuji once, a fool twice!”
I've heard Fuji can be dangerous if you underestimate it. So please don't do what Mudan says. Chris Broad has talked about how he had a friend going up underdressed like Mudan did and he did not have a good time.
QR code goes to his UA-cam channel. Well played
Bro, how the fuck did Natsuki do this? Man is as old as the two of you combined and chain smoked all the way to the top.
I’ve done it as a smoker two days before mudam and it’s surely doable, ur just not gonna have the best time, especially going down the Yoshida trail
Natsuki didn't bullet climb it though
@@mikeymoose7253 most important fact
based on Chris' stories of how he walked up mt fuji with shorts and t-shirt.... i rather be overly prepared
chris is insane for that lmfao
@@kactus1889 I think it was his friend that did that, Chris at least had long pants and a jacket lol
@@xnopyt13yeah it was his friend with the shorts and t shirt, Chris had spare clothes
I think you got lucky on the weather. When I climbed Mt Fuji it was zero degrees at the top (that was at 5:00am). Definitely pack warm clothing.
Nah don't do what he did. Prepare unless you're very fit and very lucky with the weather.
You got lucky with the weather for that bullet climb ! I would take that altitude sickness more seriously tbh
Japan started putting regulations and requiring limited reservations on climbing Mt. Fuji, after all the controversy this summer when they found all those bodies up there. DON'T GO UNPREPARED. Vending machines not working, power being on, an earthquake happening, or god forbid it erupts - you literally NEVER know. You guys did better than some I've seen, but be careful everyone.
You are correct, that small mountain from 5:00 is called Mount Hōei (宝永山) which was emerged from 1707 Hōei eruption. It's much more closer to the starting point and way less demanding.
It's actually possible to climb like this, but in less than a month since Mount Fuji opened for climbing on July 10, 2024, four people have already died. Causes include altitude sickness and arrhythmia due to pressure differences. I hope the number of people attempting the climb without proper preparation doesn't increase. If too many people die, they might eventually ban climbing altogether.
do mt everest next
Day 147 of commenting to help woth the algorithm :D
Please dont do this lol. At least bring a bag with some layers.
Spam straight out the can is a pro move.
Isn't this basically what chris did when he first climbed it lol? At least they didn't sleep outside like he did
It is good that you made it back alive. This year alone, six people have died on Mt Fuji.
It can be climbed by children as young as 10 years old and, if the weather turns bad, deaths can occur.
> "This year alone, six people (out of the 300 thousand who climb it each year) have died on Mt. Fuji"
> "It is good that you made it back alive"
???
@@user-fg3dz5kv7q On a serious note, it is not at all uncommon for people who climb lightly to encounter critical situations due to sudden changes in the weather.
@@user-fg3dz5kv7q The mortality rate is recognised to be significant enough. If the weather changes, even in summer, low temperatures and strong wind conditions can take away the ability of lightly equipped climbers to move. If they become inoperable on the trail, they are more likely to be rescued, but fatalities still occur.
There is a very real non-zero chance this video could get someone killed one day. This is DANGEROUS advice.
I am not some nagging mom, I do stupid shi all the time, but even though I consider myself to be in exceptional physical shape I would still bring water, layered thermals/clothes in case of weather extremes, UV protection, and ideally oxygen & light first aid (you're climbing volcanic rock). Watch the video Chris Broad (i think) made when they climbed overnight to be at the peak by sunrise. Speaking of Chris they mentioned on the podcast that 3 hikers needed to be rescued after falling into the crater presumably due to high winds.
I am sure most people watching this thought to themselves how BEAUTIFUL a day it looked for his hike, MOST ARE NOT. Weather can turn quickly at altitude.
If you are up to attempting a bullet climb that is fine, but PLEASE don't take the advice of someone that was surprised supplies halfway up a VOLCANO had a premium over those in the middle of a large city. Be prepared with a light pack of the essentials, extra cash, and 100 yen coins for the toilets. Just use common sense, which apparently is not always so common.
I enjoy your videos more than a lot of trash taste videos. They're more raw, dawg. Also, good on your buddy on using wide brim hat and tights to protect his skin from ultraviolet radiation. More people should do this
Dude, I love seeing Ramsker in these videos. I've known about him from editing Pyro's videos for years, but didn't think he'd be so editor-brained as to bring pre-planned memes printed on paper
Yeah your video was good but your advice was not. Just because you had a good experience with little preparation does not mean you should advise others to do the same. Come on man...
Cool video though
thank you for the rundown of logistics and price! a lot of people don't show that side of the trip
Very fortunate your weather was decent. I climbed on 7/10 on the same trail and the wind and rain were unbearable. Had to turn back at the 9th station due to the white conditions and winds (also the reports that some climbers had died made me turn around for fear of my life).
Day 11 of asking Mudan to complete every single prefecture in Japan. Wait... is this NOT longer Tokyo?! 嬉しい!From Speed Running temples to Speed Running Fuji-San. 5 Yen is "GO-EN" 五円 and there's the word ご縁 which is "fate/chance" or a way to believe in destiny.
Even as a casual hiker, I hate the way Mudan is so unprepared especially with water and food. City walking does not equal hiking. Also hate the school backpack Ramsker has on, my shoulders would be crying after ten minutes wearing that thing while climbing.
Water and food is really not an issue here - you can just buy it on the way. This isn’t like hiking into the wilderness in Alaska, it’s a highly developed walking trail. The challenge is really the height and the exposure to the elements.
@@mx2000 Just because its a developed hiking trail doesn't mean its not strenuous. Also he lucked out with the weather, if it were less cloudy and hotter even paying for water at every station is too little water for the amount you'd be sweating.
Maybe its because I've gotten physical and heat exhaustion doing much less strenuous walks and hikes than Mt Fuji that it bothers me when other people raw dog it. It fucked me up for a long time and I'm still not back to what I used to be able to do, I'd hate to see other people go through that.
This was honestly disappointing. I truly enjoy the Japan content but this is exactly the kind of unprepared, unthoughtful and borderline ignorant Mt. Fuji tourism the country actively wants to work against and that costs people's lives every single year. (E.g. 4 in just the first week of climbing season 2024). The whole "Look at my friend, his unnecessary bagpack, unnecessary amount of water and unnecessary preparation and now look at me bringing nothing but a camera haha" line even promotes the idea of the climb to not be a big thing or the conditions to not change drastically at any hour for which the mountain is even famous for. Dismissing the altitude sickness as well as the dizziness and even suggesting to pack lightly and rely on vending machines is downright irresponsible. A fellow international student of mine had to literally be carried down the mountain while being unconscious and almost died due to believing in headlines and content such as this one and he was an athlete. Yes, Mudan and his friend got very lucky with the weather and yes Mudan is quite fit but raw dogging or bullet climbing an almost 4000m tall mountain can become incredibly dangerous very quickly which is why 99% of the people in the background wear adequate gear. I know he did not release this with any bad intention but if I am honest, I cannot believe the wheelchair video and this one got published back to back. Maybe a disclaimer or something would have been recommendable.
日本人にとって富士山は神聖な場所です。あなたは運が良かっただけ。
This is like the anime character that doesn't know how hard or dangerous something is yet excells anyway, easily.
"Estonian man raw dogs tallest mountain in japan. Doesn't die."
this video is proof of god existing...
like i have no other explanation, man is so fit that even the god fears him.
don't do this unless you are as fit as Mudan and have like the perfect weather conditions as you very well could die
Bro just casually vlog himself climbing Mt.Fuji.
Bro made Ramsker be his personal Sherpa up Fuji
14:30 bro's been through shit in the span of a few frames.
Hahaha the printed out memes are amazing
I am pretty sure Mudan got altitude sickness, especially climbing the whole thing so fast haha
glad he is okay. This video made me less worried about the whole mountain.
only thing is that I want to climb it when there is snow (just a little bit) so it dosen't look like a pile of dirt hole
The math at the end comes out to ¥54,450, or ~$370 USD.
Am I the only one who's stuck on $50 just for tolls?!?
Tolls are expensive in Japan. They are kind of the dirty secret for how Japan pays for public transportation and keeps up its quality. That and taxing cars more based on physical size as well as engine size. It's not like the US where you can hop on the interstate and drive forever for free. Pretty much every highway in Japan has tolls. Driving just one way out of Tokyo for a few hours can rack up $50-$60 in tolls.
@@Neipalm dang, now my $200 round trip shinkansen trips seem a lot more reasonable.
A good dirty secret indeed, efficient public transit is always better than cars.
@@Neipalmno wonder the youth of japan are leaving their rural villages to move to big cities. With those tolls I would only drive one way outta there too!
@@whynotsa6866 In a polite and civil society, I would agree that public transit is better than cars. Unfortunately, most of the world is not like that and certainly not up to the level that Japan is.
I did my climb with some friends, where we just took a bus to 5th station that arrived ~22 on the friday evening and climbed through the night, and then straight down again after sunset :D Just what they recommend strongly against. But it works if you are a healthy 22 year old man in good physical shape. But in general it's definitely somewhat worth discouraging.
But really key thing is to bring lots of warm clothes (especially if climbing at night)! even if it's 30 degrees in tokyo, the summit might be 0 or so, with wind! Don't underestimate how much clothes you need for that, especially while not moving/waiting around for sunrise.
i appreciate the adventure line music
As much as I would love to climb Mt.Fuji when I finally visit Japan, but with my endurance this looks more than impossible for me.
This episode reminds me of my playthrough of Death Stranding (great game). I would spend 30 minutes in that game trying to get my beat up half destroyed truck up mountains in that game just for the heck of it.

no way you climb mt. fuji... just yesterday i was also hiking mountain in my country... can't get to the summit 'cause there's literally tons of tons people. i was exhausted by the time i arrived at the sunrise camp. wouldn't recommend to hike when there's a public holiday especially independence day.

The only thing i noticed was your friend's way of eating the spam like that. I've never seen anyone do t, nor do IU want to going forward. Just make me gag a bit.
Considering it's you I'm surprised you didn't try to climb backwards or something
Man why have they not added a single zipline for people to ride down the mountain ??? That would be such a huge help for people
Mudan, I wanna see if you can handle the spicy ramen challenge that Joey and Connor tried in one of the Animeman videos.
I want you to be the first to tell your viewers that Mt. Fuji is not a mountain that anyone can climb with light equipment.
The food might not taste as good due to the altitude. Also don’t climb a mountain unprepared like Mudan.
When I climbed fuji i was so desperate for water after the descent I paid 600 yen for a bottle
How is the title not raw dogging Mr. fuji? Im unsubscribing
what the total cost for the whole fuji trip tho
edit: nvm got it, ~30k yen
You went down the mountain too quickly that is why you felt worse making your way down. You gave yourself altitude sickness. You have to take it slow when changing altitudes so drastically.
Just watching you guys climb is making me feel tired.

That is not how that works, although ironically you ended up at part of the right answer. Also just pausing longer at stages throughout the ascent and descent is the most effective thing a person can do to fight the altitude sickness.

eating straight outta the spam can has to be the worst possible hiking food
wtf
It looked straight up disgusting too 🤢
It's not. It is an ideal hiking food (if you like it at all). It is an easy to carry pack of easily digested protein, and the high sodium content provides electrolytes to keep the muscles loose and better retaining any water one consumes during the climb.
I love it, but I agree it is not appealing straight out the can.
