    How amazing is Miss A that your first meltdown in foster care actually had nothing to do with her 😂

    I cannot say that Darcy peeing everywhere is not funny. It seems like Miss A is thriving in your household. It really makes me happy to know that you are going to try to do what is best for the child, not the business.

    This cracked me up. I’m potty training my triplets and I can’t for the life of me figure out how pee get EVERYWHERE. I mean the boys I get it, but my daughter? How????? 🤣

      To potty train a boy teach him to pee on a tree but I've also heard that some people have put cherrios in the potty to make it fun, I'm a 40 year old and remember 1 of the best things about about camping when I was little dropping your britches in the woods but I'm so country I didn't care who was looking that was the hardest thing for me while camping having to hide but know that you weren't squatting in poison ivy! Yeah a bit of a tomboy until I started having seizures and everyone got over protective of me at 10 years old I never got to go camping again and that was 30 years ago!

    It is normal for adults to get into arguments and disagreements. It's normal for voices to be raised sometimes. What isn't normal is for adults to completely hide their disagreements and arguments. My last foster parents (who were very nice people and did the best they could) never. Ever. Ever. Argued in front of us. It was weird. I think you guys are doing a great job and you're showing your kids how healthy adults handle disagreements 💚

      If you can manage to stay respectful to one another, arguing in front of the kids is exactly how you teach appropriate conflict resolution. Kids learn by example, not instructions.

    Dear Miss A,
    I really hope you have a fantastic school year no matter what happens, make the most out of it. The most important things you learn in school aren’t just maths and science, you get to learn about all different kinds of people and precious time management and organisational skills. Stay on the good side of your teachers and you’ll do just fine 😁 The other students are going to love you even if it takes them a little while to get to know you.
    Best of luck Miss A!

    Just wanted to send you a little message to say you are beautiful and strong.
    I had an extremely difficult childhood so I know how much strength it takes to get through everyday.
    You could print off all the lovely comments you are getting from people and keep them in book or put them on your wall, so you have a reminder that there are good people in the world that care about you and want the best for you.
    Sending love all the way from the UK. Helen x

    It’s incredible how you both are so involved in parenting. A lot of times either the mom or the dad is more involved with the kids but you both are and you guys do a fantastic job. It’s is so great that you guys are foster parents because you guys are amazing foster parents. You never make Miss A feel singled out or make her feel like “just the foster kid”. I love your family and your channel. You guys are a great influence on other parents and foster parents.

    It's okay to argue. That's a part of being human. It also shows our kids who have seen fights be worse understand that not every disagreement has to become a violent situation. That disagreeing or feeling our emotions is okay. For our kiddos it helped them with their own anger issues as well to see that we can have a disagreement and express our feelings without the need to become violently angry. You can definitely feel how much yall care and what great parents yalls are!

    As a past foster child I actually avoided this video because I figured it would trigger me, but holy crow how refreshing. I love this so much. Thank you guys for normalizing this stuff and making it clear not just people in foster care have bad days. Thank you for normalizing having a bad day and it not being the end of the world. It took me so long to learn that everyday is a new day and every bump is a learning opportunity. Im thankful Miss A has that kind of example. You guys rock.

    Thank you for covering this topic, it's really sad to see agencies not provide the level of sympathy and support for these children. I've commented before and as a previous foster child I experienced and witnessed some of the corruption in these systems. Thank you for taking the time out to make miss A as comfortable as you can and sharing your struggles and good experiences. So hopefully you can inspire and inform future foster parents like myself.

I cant believe what a wonderful person she is. It takes a truly special kind of person to handle this kind of life. She has dedicated her life to care for someone elses children. they have adopted a few of them, but have had the others all since birth.

    Hi Miss A!
    I start school next week as well! I hope you have a great first day. Don’t be nervous!! You’re going to meet so many new people and experience so many new things this school year. Try to have a positive mind going into to it. I know middle school can be scary especially since you’re going to a new school. Don’t stress to hard! Middle school is a lot of fun! As long as you try your hardest that’s all that matters. I’m not sure if your new school has lockers but when I was in middle school I decorated my locker! Maybe you should do that too! It’s super fun. Anyways have a great first day! Go make this year the best one yet!💕

    Dear Miss A,
    You’re about to start a new school year which, is exciting and usually a little nerve wracking too. My advice to you is to be yourself always. Don’t ever try and fit it by being someone you’re not. YOU are awesome, amazing and enough exactly as you are. Stay true to that and you’ll find you’ll attract the types of friends who will see you and love you for it. Stay focused and determined because anything worth having takes hard work. I love you guys so much. I don’t comment much but I do watch every single video. I’ve wanted to foster and/or adopt ever since I got my first emergency kinship placement at 22 (for a 17yr old! Seriously, who puts a 17yr old with a 22yr old?!?!?!). It turned out to be a fantastic experience and only brought me and the “child” closer. I’m 25 now and I am working even harder now to get my life together so I can bring more kids into a place of safety and security and constance. Thank you for being honest and vulnerable. It’s so important for people to see the good with the bad. ❤️❤️❤️ I’ll be praying for y’all especially this week as school starts and schedules change.

    Miss A I think you will love your new school! Just try to keep in mind this is a fun time in your life...enjoy it! I had a lot of problems at home when I was your age, and I probably should have been in foster care, but school was always enjoyable. Just get involved there! I worried about my parents hurting each other. I went to the ER myself when my dad hurt me. I went to the first day of my junior year of high school with stitches and a black eye.
    School was the fun part. You get to come home to adults stressing over a 3 year old peeing everywhere! Not your problem! Just try hard, be friendly and enjoy this time in your life! 😊❤️❤️❤️

    Miss A,
    I was bounced around the system a lot as a kid. I know how hard it can be and all I can say is it gets better. It may not seem like it right now but it does, you find your light. I had to attended 13 different school while in care, and the best advice for starting a new school is to:
    1. be care who you trust (I don't starting off kind of negative) but don't tell everyone everything about you at first, get to know them. Make sure they are trustworthy because unfortunately not everyone is.
    2. Don't be afraid to be yourself. (I know you've probably hear this a million times) but don't be afraid to be the weird kid or the nerdy kid. In reality, that doesn't matter. Don't be afraid to speak up for what you believe in and certainly don't be afraid to stand up for yourself and other. Don't let anyone take advantage of you.
    3. Don't base your self-worth on popularity. I know it probably seems cool to have a ton of friends, but remember quality over quantity. Its better to have a small group of friends who you can tryst and hang out with all the time, as opposed to tons of friends who you never really get close to and cant really trust.
    4. Remember you deserve the world. You are you and you deserve nothing less than the best, so don't settle for mediocre. Ask a teacher for extra credit if you don't like your grade. Don't let anyone treat you like you don't deserve to be there because you do, you deserve to be there the same as, if not more than anyone else there.
    I hope this helped. Remember I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. I understand what you're going through and all I can say is stay strong. You got this! Don't be afraid to lean on your moms shoulder for support or even a shoulder to cry on.

    Tell Miss A I’m rooting for her, and if she’s nervous about making new friends at school it’s always nice to go up to someone else who looks a little scared, introduce yourself and ask if they’d like to sit with you at lunch time (most kids are dreading whether or not they’ll have someone to sit with by lunch time, so I just got that out of the way by 1st period😂). Believe it or not that’s how I met my best friend freshman year of high school and were still close 6 years later! My current fosters have 4 legs and bark, but once I’m done with school and financially stable I’m going to foster kids as well! 😁💜

      What was his reasoning?

    • @melisa8256
      @melisa8256 5 років тому +4

      shadjuice Hahaha! Oh the potty training days. It’s my opinion that boys are easier in some aspects like when you’re out & about without diapers those first few times. It’s easy to find a discreet place that’s not an actual bathroom.
      The consequences to that though are mine wanted to pee outside but like ALL THE TIME. Getting out of the car at the grocery store, turn my back for a second & my 4yr old has already got his pants opened and is peeing on the tiny bush in the parking lot!
      The other one liked to pee off the balcony. This was something the neighbors downstairs didn’t always appreciate it. Hahaha! I had to go wash off their deck far too many times!
      Thankfully they’re 27 & 29 and while I’m sure they still pee outside, they’re a lot more discreet about it now.

    Don’t worry. There will be bad days. When my mom got her currently three adopted set of girls (sisters) she had bad days with the system. But she fought long and hard and finally adopted them.
    I’m getting my MSW so I’m gonna work on fixing the system since I know it from experience 😉
    Miss A is amazing and you are all amazing. I’m incredibly proud of you all and all you do for your family. It makes my heart happy.

    Make sure she gives that hair a brake inbetween braids. Super important! Hair will break off if not. Trust me that’s from experience. Love the channel. ❤️

    • @BeTheVillageCommunity
      @BeTheVillageCommunity  5 років тому

      SO true! How much of a break in between? She took it out and cared for it with moisturizer and stuff and then had it cornrowed for her next hairdo...

    • @Sungotm
      @Sungotm 4 роки тому

      @@BeTheVillageCommunity oh shoot just saw this . rule of thumb about as much time as it was in is how much of a break it needs. so typically braids can stay in a still look good up to 3 to 4 weeks and that's how long she should break in between. Get ends trimmed and check for damage every hair type is different especially if she is natural, she may not need as much time in-between hair styles. My hair is relaxed so i wait a little longer. and let my natural roots grow in so the braids don't break off my hair. I would ask a hairdresser (yes a black one if possible) to give a recommendation for her type of hair. idk if she has 3c or 4c roots if she is relaxed or natural so i can't really be to help much. i'm so sorry this response is so late.
