    Keep it up Mate...I always find these interesting...good to know about the suspension stuff..sorry you couldn't run WP internals where needed.

      Thanks bud, I’m sure at some point there will be someone making a compatible base valve for the job. I don’t think it’s the end of the world by any stretch of the imagination. 👍🏻

    On my TSE 300 the shim stack was changed to my preference using WP shims.

      Yes that’s easy to do. I’ll see how it feels first. I’ve no problem with what I’ve got at the moment. Some extra adjustability would be nice for fast to slow going scenarios. I’m sure someone will come up with a base valve to fit sooner or later.

    Hi love your channel keep up the great work. Have the same bike and want to change my front springs like you. What weight fork oil and volume do I need to replace the stock oil? Thanks in advance.

      @@RobboRobinson sorry new to servicing forks. What do you mean with an air gap of 110mm? Do you mean fill the tube with oil up to 110mm from the top? Thanks again in advance.

      @RobboRobinson  2 місяці тому +1

      @@robertdelapaz1857 Yes with the fork vertical in a vice and the spring & fork cap removed, the outer tube should be fully down and the inner rod also. Add oil into the tube pumping the inner rod to remove air. Using an air gap tool and syringe you can set the oil height.

      @@RobboRobinson thanks for putting those valuable info together!! I owned a 4-stroke 300 made by the same manufacturer in China & my bike use the same SZC fork as well. I my the stock spring is way too stiff for me & wanted to changed my stock spring. Would you mind sharing the spec of the front spring so I order one to my weight locally? thanks!!

    shame about the bouncers fella but as the bikes get more popular we know somebody will create something 'better' - question about the rad guards and where are they from as i dont see a link? i paid about 140 for mine from a chap in England but my mate is after some and 60 quid or even close is of course waaaay better

    Hi Ian, you mentioned lowering the rear shock. Did this mean you lost some travel? Cheers

    • @RobboRobinson
      @RobboRobinson  Рік тому

      Hi bud, only a small amount of travel has been lost by lowering. A 10mm spacer is fitted internally so it doesn't extend back to full height. I'm 6'2" but I like to be able to put both feet flat on the ground in those peculiar angled situations in the type of riding I like this bike for. Beside I think its more stable as well. I have had both my previous KTM's lowered in the same way. The only disadvantage I see is ground clearance is reduced a tad but I've become better at line choice
      and hopping over things.

    Hello, ive just got a 450FSE. Im liking the quality. On the suspension, the forks have blue and red dial at the top and adjustment at the bottom. Im not sure which is compression and which is rebound, im also guessing clockwise to increase. And same goes for the rear shock, ive got no idea which adjuster does what. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

    • @RobboRobinson
      @RobboRobinson  9 місяців тому +1

      Hi bud, ignore the colours on top of the forks. Both are rebound at top and compression at bottom. Rear shock has a single compression adjustment at top with Allen key centre bolt. There is no high speed compression adjustment like on other bikes. A screw is located at the bottom for rebound adjustment. Try a medium setting all round to start with. Also think about your weight? Stock springs probably up to a 85-90kg rider. If you are heavier you need to up the springs to get the best out of the suspension.

    • @RobboRobinson
      @RobboRobinson  Рік тому

      Yes , only thing I will say is the bolt holes on the GPX rad shrouds are 10mm lower but there is enough flex in the plastic.

      If you're talking about China, over 40% of all Honda parts are sourced from China. KTM sources 70% of their parts from China and their Chinese CBU factory for their frames is where Hengjian sources their KTM frames. Hengjian has a contract through Shineray to obtain KTM frames that are one generation old since Chinese and Asian market KTMs keep the old generation KTMs in production for 3rd party access as part of their contract with Shineray. Btw Hengjian is the manufacturer for GPX
