Hopefully Samsung’s matte screens are way better this year than it was last year. And the 83 inch not being QDOLED is a big negative to me. That pushes me to LG, Panasonic and Sony.
Even on my outdated phone, i have to say that new matte finish is less horrendous than a previous version but man, the contrast still get a hit 😢 in bright environment
I bought the A95L. Picture is amazing but I wish i didnt go for 65 A95L instead got the 77 G5 for the same price or 77S95F. Believe me bigger is better then Processing 😢
Bigger is always better. PQ differe3nces is hard to notice, on most content, especially with the top TVs. The size is always noticeable and irreplaceable for movie watching. I have a 65" A95K that is fantastic, but I watch all my movies on my 77" A80J and it's a much better experience. Unless they are side by side, it's hard to know what you are missing PQ wise.
At least s90f has a glossy finish according to hdtvtest Samsung will not be samsung if they didn't go backward by putting matte finish and ruining the entire tv lineup
S90f might be using same gen3 panel as the s95f. Apparently the 2024 models used gen2. If s90f has the ability to be unlocked to s95f mode in the service menu, it will easily be tv of the year.
Hi Max, I’ve commented before on someone tech channel that QD - OLEDs will be a thing of the past and dare I say it OLEDS as well. I think it’s purely a cost and margin decision, purely financial. Happy new year from NZ.
@ Brian, Fomo, yourself as well as you Max aren’t too impressed and understandably so. FYI Max, I use to be a technician in the early days of NZ colour TV and in particular the Phillips K9 TV in the early 1970s. Use to work for Fisher & Paykel.
People will finally appreciate qd oled when it goes away and we get downgraded tech. Just like when the kuro, sharp elite, z9d backlight master drive were all killed prematurely and then they achieved legendary status.
Dont expect anymore support from Sony on the A95L, except for OS, app and security updates. Just like 2012 when Samsung stopped production of the F8500 plasma. They dropped all support, and stopped making replacement parts in 2013. Owners were left in the dark if the tv failed.
Neither Samsung nor Sony has given any official statements on their OLED tech being used by region or even by size, that I've seen. Just two weeks ago many of these same bloggers were reporting some database leak confirmed evidence of an 83 inch qd-oled. But now they are saying the opposite without reconciling the contradiction. When there is contradiction without explanation its hard to know what to trust? Trusting the latest rumor is usually the way to go, but in this case it is hard to say. Personally I am all in on Sony, so the news would hit especially hard if all of their TVs are woled this year. I need to do wishful thinking until the truth is confirmed.
I completely agree with you. The lack of official statements from Samsung or Sony makes it hard to know what to trust, especially with all the contradictions in the rumors. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to go with Sony or not-I’m waiting to see how things unfold before making a decision. For now, it’s all about wishful thinking until we get some solid confirmation.
I said this on AVS forums. There are no 83 inch QD-OLED panels this year. Those are for 2026. Brian from Whisperstatus74 was mislead by the matte coating on the 83 inch WOLED.
@@mchambliss2 Yeah, certainly a waste of potential but I guess cutting those 83 inch panels is expensive and Samsung probably waits for a more efficient/cost-effective way to produce them. You cant sell a 8000+ USD 83 inch QD-OLED in 2025.
@@Cenkolino That is probably why Samsung is not making them for 2025. Well...we'll see in 2026 then. I'm also not sure about Sony and QD-OLED this year.
LG and Panasonic are gonna kill it. Brighter, more colorful OLEDS with no MLA. MLA causes lifted blacks with ambient light and that is also QD OLEDs biggest flaw. Now The WOLEDS are getting a leg up on QD OLED. Also if the rumors are true about Sony dropping QD OLED they may be picking up these new LG panels as well.
Tech is going backwards. This new 4layer is just lipstick on a woled pig. Worse uniformity, worse off axis, worse tinting than mla. Nobody ever complained about MLA so called raised blacks because it was a nothing burger. Color gamut is still low compared to qd oled. This is a cost cutting downgrade. Of course if all you care about is brightness brightness brightness over quality you’re gonna love it.
Monitors = finally getting glossy OLED options. Buyers rejoice. TV's = getting matte finishes. Buyers hate it. Almost as if there's a common thread here.
@ I remember when Samsung dropped those terrible curved TVs in 2013 - what a time. That was a rough idea! I’d love to see the data to know if consumers actually like this matte finish or not. I’m going to keep running surveys and 🙏🏾 Samsung sees this and learns their lesson. At the end of the day, the only way they’ll really get it is through our wallets!
I'm in the minority, but i'm SUPER excited for the matte screen/glare free screen on the 90F. I've been wanting a Frame but with a better TV. Getting a top tier Mini LED with the glare free screen is very exciting. Can't wait.
If you are planning on buying the A95L, make sure you get an extended warranty. Get in from BB, not Sony. If you tv fails and you have a Sony warranty, you get whatever Sony thinks is a fair replacement. With BB, you can get your money back.
I would like to see all those that are raving about this new woled variant id bet top dollar if they owned an a95l and it died and got replaced by the new sony woled they would be up I arms because they know it is a downgrade to qd oled.
It won't be coming next year either, I think that in the future Samsung will only have Samsung QD-OLED, but it's not that superior, TVs are only getting bigger, QD-OLED can't keep up. It's a bit of a mess in the TV world, as far as prices are concerned. I looked at a Bravia9 65 inch, 200 euros more expensive than a 77 inch G4. Actually a mid-range TV is fine, but yes, I love technology

Yes doubles down ! Mate screen again double shit !!!
And there it is. That is probably the reason why Sony skipped QDOLED this year.
Yep 😤
Yeah, the burn-in are more likely in the QD-OLED
Not just this year. But for good.
@@VictorAvilax Not really. That was 1st gen panels. My 2nd gen S95C has no issues.

Again what are they playing at the mat finish is bad....

Samsung have completely lost the plot again
Good thing I just got a Sony a95L at a discount (open box in excellent condition) I was waiting for an 83” Sony QD OLEd 😢
No 83” QD-OLED from Sony 😢

Every tv brand has a great processor this day , Go bigger it’s better, Sony tv is over priced!
Is the QN90F gloss or mat?
Matte

Ah what a shame for those who wanted a 83 inch QD OLED.😊
I know 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥹 I was one of them 😭😭
QD OLED is a game changer... Very easy to see the difference in colour volume...

Absolutely! I own the 77" S90D for my bedroom. But I need an 83" QD-OLED for my great room. No QD? No sale. I'll just keep my money tyvm.
Yeah that matte garage they can keep that , please sony bring on your new QD oled .
Crossing my fingers 🤞🏾
RIP Samsung
Samsung ruined their entire lineup. That means they don't care about people who know about picture quality at all
😭 No 83" Qd-Oled 😭 So what em I supposed to do with my life Now??...I was Counting the days ..
I’m on the same boat as you 😭😭😭
I am disappointed about the matte finish. I don't like it at all.
