my brother bought a skwal 2 as his first serious helmet as he went on to have his 125cc license. the first time we had it in our hands my brother was horrified thinking it hadnt the sun visor. we spent a good 10 minutes trying to find it while i did. we most recently bought a skwal 2.2 vneger and i love it
Only DOT rated but does have a high Sharp testing rating, tho horrible idea to have green lights on the back of your head. Green means go...Id hate to have a blurry eyed tired or impaired cager behind me thinking my green helmet lights are a green traffic light ahead. Rear lights should've been red
Had mine for about 6 months now, quite like it, good fit, bit noisy at higher speed, but the lights only stay on for about 30 seconds, no matter how charged up it is.
Not a bad helmet. The fit is good but i find a lot of pressure on my cheeks. I have no issue with the charging plug. The vents could be better. At night the light are really good.
Just got the simple white version, was about $250, my first helmet ever and it feels pretty confortabile and also I like that I don't feel like my sides or up/down vision is limited in any way.
@Shalin Hey, I can't answer the questions becausd my head is a diffefent shape, I went to the shop and they suggested I wear it for about 10 minutes, see if any parts of the head started to hurt. I find it very confy and I don't feel like it's restricting any of the visual field. As for the speed, I didn't test it yet but it has a wind shield (if that's how it's called) under the chin made of some sort of textile and a small shape on the back to help with the wind so I belive it will do decent considering the price.
@Shalin 🙏 check more comments. someone mentioned it's a bit noisy at hight speeds, other people say that the visor breaks pretty easy. Overall, I went with it because I belive it's a good brand.
If you are stopped at the side of the road at night wouldn't it be better to just put on the hazard lights on the bike? I think the helmet lights are just a gimmic and they make the vents smaller too. Shark D-Skwal 2 is a better buy and cheaper.
my take is that when riding a bike at night, the more lights the better, for motorists who dont usually see lights on a rider, it will grab the drivers attention which as we know, is half the battle.
The helmet is DOT approved, we just happen to use a sales sample for this video that didn't have it on the back. But the entire Skwal 2 series in the US is DOT certified.
It’s would want to be better than skwal 1. Overiding problem with skwal 1 is it is very noisy. Running comms makes it tighter as speaker well pro vision is not deep enough.
If they made it in multiple shell sizes I’d buy one straight away. I have a small size head so I’m gonna look like a bobble head with an XL shell on my head.
Shoei and Arai generally have the most shells and therefore smallest shells in smaller sizes. The Bell Star also has a lot of shells. Further, the more expensive HJC, Scorpion, and AGV helmets have more compact shells. -DrewZilla
If you really want the functionality of the LED lighting, then go with the Skwal 2. Otherwise, the K3 SV is a bit lighter and more compact. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/shark-skwal-2-helmets *www.revzilla.com/agv-k3-sv-helmet
From what we can tell, they are basically the same. Or when Shark released the Skwal 2, they renamed the original Skwal to D-Skwall. Here in the US, we've only ever had the Skwal and Skwal 2. -DrewZilla
I like the idea of the lights, especially during the winter when we get 16+ hours of night every day, but the lack of ECE and Snell rating is enough to put me off.
Do not recommend buying the skwal at all. Base plates broke 3 times, cost me hundreds in visor replacements. Shark was absolutely useless. I’ll never buy a shark helmet again.
Prefer the design of the first one. Smaller vents is a bad idea. And I’m onto my second visor already. Very weak arms. They need to fix this design flaw
I have a full face 5xl HJC. Why don't you do a video on my choices? I don't understand how you sell helmets that you can't try on? I also have a Bell open face 3xl. Again always lots of helmets but nothing for my size. I am resorted to what fits, not what I actually would like, pants are also an issue and I still don't have any. Buy before you try sucks! I'm a new rider so it has been a struggle for clothing and equipment. Please help with a video or two.
Don't buy one, the hinges break. I've got through three visors in the past 18 months. The visors are really weak and at 40 quid a shot you'd do better getting something other than a Shark
It's the worst helmet I've ever had. The inside of the visor is scratched if you don't pull it up with both hands, so you can only manipulate it when you're standing still and without having to touch the bike's brake. I had to change it because the visor and the helmet are scratched every time you open the visor. Bad buy.
I have both. Sqwal 1 & 2. Much prefer the 2 personally. Either one is a great helmet.

Added item to my shopping cart, your tutorial answered my questions thank you

That makes 0 sense
the white version has white lights but I think you can add a red tint over the back ones.
Had mine for about 6 months now, quite like it, good fit, bit noisy at higher speed, but the lights only stay on for about 30 seconds, no matter how charged up it is.
It's a noisy helmet , I took a bag form an old lid and shaped it inside the lining.......cuts out alot of wind noise
Not a bad helmet. The fit is good but i find a lot of pressure on my cheeks. I have no issue with the charging plug. The vents could be better. At night the light are really good.
Same just got mine today and it’s my first full face helmet I got the xl size but the cheek area is very tight
Strike visor attachment system works well until the thin visor "arms" snap which I've found isn't uncommon.

Should be white in front and red on back. Green? are you kiddin?
Can the light or the lens be changed to from green to red on the back of the helmet?
wow a revzilla review that isn't just a advertising exercise !!!! I'm amazed !! good work guys.
Is it possible to change the led colour or only have one colour?
Howcome mine says NOXXYS on the back and doesn't say DOT at all?
Just got mine today. Why are my lights white?
How long does a charge last with the lights?
This helmet is awesome...fits great!
I hit got one for a lil over 2 but no lights or the bottom spoiler. Did I pay to much?
Ive had this helmet for an year my particular helmet as soon as i take it off the charger won't light up.

Shark D-Skwal 2 is a better buy and cheaper.

Would be great if you could do a review of Skwal 3
Wow that's heavy. What is the weight compared to the D-skwal 2 that don't have LEDs? Like the Shigan?
I like the button had no issues on both my Skwal 2
Terrible helmet I've had 3 visors break at the mounting points !! And shark were useless with customer service
Same here... 75€ for the visor... when the second one broke I said fuck it all bought another helmet
Thanks for the tip. Removing it off my top 5
@@i_read_bad_reviews I did the same - Not getting it - Companies need to know bad customer experience costing them money
Is bad buy!
Same, absolute piece of crap helmet
No real improvement over the old one (which was great). Might as well try to find one of the old design, which will probably be going for peanuts now.
You say DOT approved but there is no sticker.

Nice for my ride home after work at midnight
Does cardo packtalk bold fit this one?
Mkay :O, this review is long overdue :p
Which cable do you use to charge it? Mini USB?
The Skwal 2 used a micro-USB charging cable.
Someone know replacement options for the battery? Can’t find

Dylzhaar I have the same issue where I look like a bobble head😬
Who are the best manufacturers for helmets that don’t have such large shells??
Shoei and Arai generally have the most shells and therefore smallest shells in smaller sizes. The Bell Star also has a lot of shells. Further, the more expensive HJC, Scorpion, and AGV helmets have more compact shells. -DrewZilla
Agv k3 sv or shark skwal 2?

Are Shark Skwal and D-Skwal the same helmets? Is D-Skwal a better version?
From what we can tell, they are basically the same. Or when Shark released the Skwal 2, they renamed the original Skwal to D-Skwall. Here in the US, we've only ever had the Skwal and Skwal 2. -DrewZilla
@@RevZilla thank u. Do you also have HJC CS-15? Which is better ?
D skwal is the Skwal which doesn't come with the lights.
At shark offices- "No ece rating, thermoplastic shell? Let's put lights on it so we can sell this thing!"
I like the idea of the lights, especially during the winter when we get 16+ hours of night every day, but the lack of ECE and Snell rating is enough to put me off.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Here in Sweden it has ECE 22.05 and DOT rating and a 4-star SHARP rating as well.
This helm support cardo packtalk?
Yes, you can mount the PackTalk BOLD on the SKWAL 2. The PackTalk Slim is not really compatible though. -DrewZilla

Did you change brands? If so what did you pick up brand and model and how do you like it now?
Prefer the design of the first one. Smaller vents is a bad idea. And I’m onto my second visor already. Very weak arms. They need to fix this design flaw
This helmet air ventilation is not very good , a bit pricey for the graphic one, and abit heavy to wear

Acabo de comprar uno y me salio super bien✌

Dam i miss Anthony on these reviews....
Make no mistake, Shark are the best designers of helmets. Only down side to this helmet is they are a French manufacturer. lol.
Wrong shirt?
Nice helmet
Buy something else. Visor will break in mounting points after a year.
Anyone notice they have 666(k) subscribers lol

Dude you are commenting everywhere about this helmet
@@belife6332 Dude, I know!
Good, hope Shark knows
I took mine to a bike shop and they replaced the hinges. It’s a warranty replacement in Australia.
It's 5 years warranty so it's ok no ?

It's the same helmet with the same deficiencies. Steer clear.
