Hi Andy! I'm a huge fan of your haircut content! My biggest problem having when styling the pompadour (I'm trying to achieve the same hairstyle as you) is that after blowdrying my hair and twisting my brush upwards, my hair doesn't go up and throughout the day my hair goes down.
It’s mainly blow drying. It can’t be wet when you apply product. Also, the amount of product you use matters as well so be sure not to use too much or it’ll weigh it down. Finally, use hair spray if you want it to stay like that all day
I feel like no hair product works for me. I have straight thin hair medium short length, and I can't seem to get the right hold. I try to get a comb over bed head look. I've tried medium and firm hold product from american crew. I've even tried putting product and using hairspray over it. It always seems to wear off in an hour. What could be the cause of this? I have given up on using products because in the end it makes me look worse.
Steps: - Wet hair - Apply pre styler and blow dry to shape (make sure your hair is dry) - Apply product of choice - If you want it to stay throughout the day use hairspray on final look Hope this helps, sir.
@@kevinsapokguy Pre styler? I think the issue maybe I'm rubbing my hair to much to try to get the product and its counter intuitive. Either that or I'm not drying my hair all the way. I only seem to be able to gel my hair when its short, when it is medium long I cannot (3-6 in hair length).
@@justnwin1026 ua-cam.com/video/8cm_CK0662M/v-deo.html I learned all my hair tricks from youtube but here is a sample vid up above following the steps i told you earlier. Depending on what hairstyle you want (bcuz obviously idk) this should be a good guide line to all hair styles with medium-long length hair. Just depends on which products you use as a pre styler, what finishing product, and which hairspray. Lmk if you have any additional questions.
I got that thick and heavy Asian hair. I’ve tried to style my hair like yours but when I blow dry my hair it doesn’t hold its shape very well. Am I blow drying it wrong?
It’s quite difficult to explain my hairstyle since I kinda made it up. But it’s a mid zero fade with a drop. Straight up on both sides. And the back shorter then the front.
I like your videos and subscribed recently but in this one I can totally tell you’re just advertising Byrd. You’re a barber surely you must know about... Pomades (what you used) Paste Clay Gel If they’re water soluble or not. These are the type of things I expected to see especially when trying to style ASIAN HAIR. I’m a Chinese guy with super STRAIGHT and a little on the thicker side hair. And I have to use a pre styler and matte paste + hair spray to finish off my quiff. I see you only talk about cutting pomps and combovers too. A quiff is a style that’s totally in rn especially with a younger crowd. I just feel like this video could’ve been made better to inform and the title IS misleading. If this was a “Hey let me show you how to style my hair with pomade video” that would make a lot more sense. Just food for thought still much love for you and your channel though.
Extremely helpful. My sons and I all have thick fluffy hair. I will buying the last one with the bold hold.
One of the best barbers on this platform, your advice has helped me alot.
Glad to hear it
I definitely love the matte look. The greasy heavy gel wet look is outdated.
Hey what’s the name of the haircut you have in this video ? i’d like to get one of these
Thanks, this and the haircut videos are super helpful! Especially these days...
Appreciate the content!
This was helpful, I want to try to style my hair a new way now!
Hey Andy, love your videos. When are you going to do a cut and style of your own hair?
I plan to once the busy season stops
Can you make a video about putty, clays, wax, ect?
I use Byrd Matt. Love it. Great product. Not heavy or greasy!!
Andy, this is a nice product video! more power!
Thank you! New video tomorrow

Hi Andy I just wanna ask what is your haircut. I want a haircut just like that so bad thankyou
zero mid fade with a drop in the back. Blend the side to the top and have the front longer but gradually gets shorter as it gets to the back

Depending on your hair but most hair style requires a blow dryer. If you don’t have one you might want to invest in one
Steps:
- Wet hair
- Apply pre styler and blow dry to shape (make sure your hair is dry)
- Apply product of choice
- If you want it to stay throughout the day use hairspray on final look
Hope this helps, sir.

What about guys who has a very fine hair? Would Matte or Clay can achieve the look?
What products do u use for facial hair?
Depending on how much facial hair you have
what kind of haircut do you get?
zero mid fade with a drop in the back. Blend the side to the top and have the front longer but gradually gets shorter as it gets to the back
what do i do when i sweat alot on the hair

Could be the length as well. If it’s thick hair it wouldn’t stay up if it’s long
Where’s your barber shop located?
Fountain Valley
Nice! I live in OC too. How do I schedule an appt?
If I want to get a haircut like yours what do I ask for?

Andy Tran what’s a drop and what do you mean by straight up on both sides?
Billy T your barber should know
Andy Tran I go to a salon haha hopefully they’ll understand what it is, thanks!
Billy T hmm mostly barbers would do it correctly. Salons are different.
Can that be used for long mustaches?
no, Mustaches I’d use something else
😂😂
Super useful... 😊😊😊
