Can I ask if we have a none smart TV , we use a Humax box for our TV . We live in France and use an android box which isn't always great . Could I plug the stick into the TV using the HDMI connector you say it has ?. Cheers
i have this, its awesome. They really upgraded the bluetooth headphone experience too. More stable, goes farther and I was even connecting with the LDAC codec immediatly. I live in a congested area and not one blip in performance.
I have the 1st gen 4k firetv which runs at 1.5 so upgrading to a max would be a huge improvement for me when that time comes...also, you forgot to mention that the new 4k max now recognizes USB flash drives out of the box (with an otg cable) whereas the 1st Gen does not (without sideboarding some apps and entering some coding)...I think that alone is worth the upgrade since you can simply increase your storage size with a $5 otg cable.
Good review, the 2d generation fire stick 4K Max would be the 16 gigabyte version with the new remote, in the USA the first generation 4 K Max is rectangle not oval. FYI if you want to add more storage for games or apps you can go up to 128 gigabytes USB 3.0 using the micro USB port with pass through power dongle or you can add a hub with USB ports and ethernet to add storage and keyboard, mouse, game controller hardwired. You can format the memory with the fire stick once plugged in. There is of course always the Bluetooth option for speakers and peripherals.
Or you can toss the FireStick into a drawer and go buy an Android box with 4Gb of RAM and 64Gb of storage ... all inside the one box ... no need to be messing with cables and wires and memory sticks ...... copy of Kodi on and you are done !
Would have been great to see the difference in performance between the older firestick and the newer 6E wireless. Looking at range and download speeds?
Hi Chigz just to make sure ive got this right looking at your charts. Are you saying you are rating the fire TV max gen two higher than the second generation cube? Thank you
Hi, I have a 4K version, I am in Hungary and if I want to install HBO Max it say to me in the store when I want to install, it is unavailable however it say my stick is compatible... Any idea?
12 bit gives a larger range of color and tends to give better accuracy of colours. Dolby vision is available from 8bit to 12bit. Nice to have these options.
Your not paying 10 quid extra for the CPU GPU as there just clocked .the 10 quid for the extra 8 GB ram which to me is well worth it. As 8 GB your left with around 4.5 and 16 gets you around 12 gig .
There is a difference in the audio. A big difference. Fire Stick on the left, after installation, leaves 5.33 gigs, and it's from 2021. Dolby Atmos in Amazon Music is very weak compared to the the Fire Stick 2023 with16 gigabytes. In addition, the video on the 2021 version is locked into 12 bits making the video and color much too bright. There aren't many TV's which runs 12 bits or even 10. You're better off with the Amazon Fire cube instead.
It's because they are using very old chips, and they don't support USB-C. It's just like buying an i5 3rd gen computer in a new case from eBay or Amazon😂
The chipset is actually updated, so is the WIFI module and BT, so its all new specifications internally. I think amazon keeps the microUSB cables to keep the costs low. But really they should be using USB-C. I have so many usb-c hubs, I could use with these sticks.
@@ChigzTech They probably bought millions of micro usb adaptors when first introduced, hoping they'd sell out, it's the only reason I can think of why they persist in using the outdated supply even on new models. I use a cube, so I'm not planning on updating until a MAJOR update comes along, and even then I'm probably likely to switch to the Shield TV when/if I do upgrade. The 16gb upgrade is a nice bonus if you're looking for your first, I have to agree, but it's hardly enough of an upgrade IMO to make someone consider changing from an already working set-up. Most routers in use won't utilise wifi 6 yet, so I don't see that as a useful upgrade for me personally.
i dont get why people would get this when the apps are the same on the tv what does the fire stick really bring to the to the table when you can stream 4k on the same apps on the tv???
It works on any tv with HDMI. I have a tv from 2012. It's big but its OS doesn't support anything like modern smart TV. The main functionality and appeal of the fire stick TV is to make any compatible tv into a smart TV with all the features all modern tvs get to enjoy. I COULD buy a smart TV ($$$$) or I could just buy a stick can get the same effects on older TV's ($).
I've tried PS2 emulation with Play and PS2 Gold no success, I think the architecture is much the same on the Gen 2 as the first Gen, successful with Retroarch and PSP, also Android games like RE2, Left for Dead 2, GTA 3 and San Andreas
@@ChigzTech I could not see t on jour list and I cannot connect to where you have all the lists?? Would it be too much to ask that you print a link to those lists. They are impossible to search for!? Otherwise thanks. I have just replaced Epson EF-12 with LG 4K 1500 Ansi with 4 LEDs. Twice as good as EF-12.Awesome!;-)
I am not saying it’s not a good product I was just pointing out why I think it is cheap. Also it’s an Amazon product which they care about. It would be nice if they showed the same care to most of their employees🙄 I digress apologies.
It's designed as a streaming device . They could have made the fire TV cube 3rd gen with 8 GB ram 64 GB storage .but what's the point if you only stream and play Amazon games .

Yes will plug straight into the HDMI port on your TV and includes a little extension for those tight angles on wall mounted tv
Very very wonderful and amazing developments
Thanks for watching.
Hi Chigz, you put this new 4K Max above the Cube 4K (2ND GEN)
Can you explain?
A greeting!
i have this, its awesome. They really upgraded the bluetooth headphone experience too. More stable, goes farther and I was even connecting with the LDAC codec immediatly. I live in a congested area and not one blip in performance.
I just ordered me one, it sounds like it will be awesome.

Ohhh..nice. 4k max....thanks chigz...😁😁😁👍👍👍

Hi, Did you check the small male to female HDMI extender cable coming up with firestick 4K 16 GB max support HDMI2.1 / HDCP 2.3 ? Kindly let me know.

I may upgrade my 4K Firestick to a 4K Max when I get a chance
Hi chigz..how does this fare in comparison with Shaks G1(RTD1315C/G57)?
Great review I was wondering compare with MI and Realme which one is better and why?
How much better speeds will wifi 6 get compared to wifi 5.
Does your internet modem have to be wifi 6 in regards to utilise the wifi 6 technology?
*Excelente vídeo!!*
Hi, I have a 4K version, I am in Hungary and if I want to install HBO Max it say to me in the store when I want to install, it is unavailable however it say my stick is compatible... Any idea?
Some apps are region locked and only work in certain countries. The work-around would be to se a VPN like Surfshark.
@@ChigzTech Thanks. But i have HBO max account and it is legal in Hungary, here also Telekom allows it in their own android device.
I see he changed the colour bit rate to 12, what is the best colour bit rate for fire stick 8, 10, 12 ?
12 bit gives a larger range of color and tends to give better accuracy of colours. Dolby vision is available from 8bit to 12bit. Nice to have these options.
Well done, bud.
Thanks
Is it true that not all apps supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos? For example HBO Max has only 5.1 audio?
Does a Fire Stick show recomended content from other Apps on the home screen?
Comes with the MediaTek MT8696 chipset and Dolby Atmos system, there is great performance and ultimate performance

Yes exactly what I said at 8:42. the 16GB makes it worth while to pay that 10 extra.

Fire TV Stick 4K Max has a 2.0GHz mediatek processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage
When these 2023 Fire TV Stick 4K Max will be available in India
Top drawer as always 👍
Can i use Kodi and other similar android apps?
Yes
I tried both and I didn’t see any difference at all. That’s my experience
Shocking that they're still using the micro usb for power, that's pretty disgraceful in 2023.
So used to MicroUSB with fire sticks, USB-C would be great though.

Makes no difference micro or usb 3 both do the same think powers it. There no charging .
question does the Crunchyroll app available on fire stick planning to buy
The size looks not exactly the same on your hands! The max looks little bit longer.
When this will launch in India?
Not sure, maybe already launched.

Will you get free tv channels and local tv with this device?
2Gn support DTS and true HD
A comparison to the old 4k max stick would be interesting.
Yes I was thinking the same, but if you follow my ranking chart you will see how much more powerful the new 4K Max is: bit.ly/3VYJEaO
yes pls. i am waiting for this comparsion.
😊
who uses micro usb nowadays. why do they still make devices with ancient obsolete ports?
A big problem is low free ram , 500 mb free from 2gb , on first gen. is about 1gb free so work better than this 2 gen.
I guess its useless if your TV or monitor doesn't support 4k
Then you guessed wrong. It will work just fine with 1080p resolution if that's all you have.
Why do you not have Google Chrome 4K? Fire tv is a British thing. We do not use it in the EU-much. We use Google Chrome which you do not have?
I have covered that already, that is also a good streamer. Not as powerful as the new 4K Max though: ua-cam.com/video/ZDQ9X5Hgj_E/v-deo.html

Amazon firestick RiP 😂
Maybe because it’s full of bloatware and advertising. No usb ports, no 1gig Ethernet port. Hardly any storage and not customisable🤔.
It's not designed for customisation, it's predominately a streaming device and it's a dam good one. A USB port would be great though.
I am not saying it’s not a good product I was just pointing out why I think it is cheap. Also it’s an Amazon product which they care about. It would be nice if they showed the same care to most of their employees🙄 I digress apologies.
Pretty easy to buy an otg adapter to add a USB port and yes, it's not made for being customizable. It's a streamer, that's it.
It's designed as a streaming device . They could have made the fire TV cube 3rd gen with 8 GB ram 64 GB storage .but what's the point if you only stream and play Amazon games .
Thank you for nothing bro
