Dracula in the novel had a mustache but Eggers only included the mustache on Orlok because it is historically accurate that Transylvanian noblemen had mustaches at that time period. Vampires that have a mustache don't bother me at all so I don't get why everyone is bitching about it.
Best movie of the year in my humble opinion. Loved the old world Cossack/ Romanian nobleman look. Medieval Romanians were all about their mustaches. In Stoker’s novel, Dracula had a drooping mustache. I thought he looked like Vlad the Impaler dug up after a month or two of being buried(minus the long hair). Keeping him in the shadows was brilliant. Especially at first when he’s trying to hide the fact that he is a literal dead person from Thomas Hutter.
I dont get why people hate the mustache.. that is the most authentic part. He looks like a dead Vlad The Impaler who Dracula is based on. and he had a mustache in the novel.
I like the cliffhanger ending where we don’t know if Helen is actually dead or alive and I liked the choice to have 2 different orlock in the movie making William who has already played orlock being the hunter and expert was perfect
The forbidden love was between her and Thomas they had a pure love Thomas actually cared he truly did but it was he was trying so hard but there was alot that was there in the details it’s hard to explain with out major high spoilers
There was a lot of scenes of the camera just panning around showing the environment or just the camera sitting there looking at a wall for like 5 minutes he could have taken some of that out but I enjoyed it
One thing I loved it was my favorite scene and moment they gave bill this black fur hat and he was wearing the hat a lot then at one point he got pissed ripped the hat off and threw it then he was bold the rest of the movie I enjoyed the mustache a lot it worked for this version and take on this character and it added to the humor of the character and it was very rat like
Orlock has always been his own separate character and is definitely way better then Dracula will ever be I’m a fan of both but Dracula will never be able to get on the level that orlock is this movie is a solid high 13/10 I would like to try another Robert movie I watched the opening of the light house and said nope and turned it off immediately this I was hooked instantly

Thomas was fully clothed. He wasn’t raping him. Lol
