    Is it possible to use the cursor to point what word is being discussed. Thanks teacher

      Oh akhi, on Mondays the teaching is auditory only. I'm trying to get you guys to relax from looking at it unless you really want to.

      I have just been learning a few weeks, but I believe the reason he changes his voice is to help you separate out the different “words” hiding inside a given group of Hebrew characters. Hebrew has this beautiful logic, where the core verb itself is almost always three characters long but they add a bunch of characters to bring in additional info. Primarily, these involve pronouns added to the end such as “she”, “they”, “I”, etc. (You'll also see syllables added to the front for other reasons.)
      He's using colors and changes in his voice to help us learn to "hear" this very different way of indicating pronouns: For example, in English we might use two words to say “I ran” or “They ran.” In Hebrew, they would simply add a syllable to the end of the original word “ran.” Hence, the English words “I ran” become “ran-tee” in Hebrew, or “they ran” might become “ra-noo.” The narrator changes his voice to emphasize those add-on portions and to help us distinguish the added-on part vs. the regular verb. It’s helpful to learn how to hear these patterns because these add-on sounds are the same across most regular verbs, and, once you learn to see them, it makes more sense how different groups of characters are spelled.
