- This is my daughter Bella's first solo as she works towards her Private Pilot certificate. Thanks to CFI Josh at Skill Aviation for getting her ready for her first solo.

She is a well trained pilot. Great radio work and checklists. Smooth control. Center of runway landings in the zone. Even leaned to taxi. Can't get better than that. Congrats, Bella.
Congratulations!!! Great job Bella, beautiful flying. Brings back memories of my solo back in 1975. A 150 and no headphones, pavement for about 100 feet on both ends of the runway and caliche in between. Bird's Nest Airport Manor TX. Dual was $21/hr wet, solo was $13.
I have seen a lot of these first solo videos, and most seem to be more interested in making a video for YT rather than being the PIC of a SEP. This video is much better, more like a fly on the wall rather than the drama queens and kings I have seen.
Well done you handled that very professionally, I would have you fly me around any day.

Takes me back to my first solo -- happened to be a sailplane (later single engine & instrument). I recall thinking at the moment I left the ground that now I had to do EVERYTHING -- including land. Somehow I made it. Thanks, Aeroworks, for the memories.
There's something very emotional and rewarding for me watching first time solo videos. I soloed in 1970 and it was such a big thrill.Congrats Bella! Tears of joy.

I'm a student pilot here in western Washington. This video is extremely inspiring! As a guy,.............I held back the tears as you gracefully took to the sky after stating; "Oh my gosh" several times. Excellent communication w/tower and great flying skills! "You go girl"!!! A+

Congratulations! It's so funny watching this, as she simultaneously expresses her nervousness and excitement and gives herself a reassuring, "I got this" during taxi, as I pretty much did the exact same thing on my first solo. I guess we all do. Very nice first solo! Landing was much better than mine!
“This is good!” I love it. The self-talk, awesome when you’re alone and it’ll bode you well if you ever fly dual pilot/commercial. It’s always helped me reassure/confirm/remember things! And man, you greeeeeeeased those landings. So sweet!
Great job Bella, you made this look easy! I personally would have been freaking out lol! Always wanted to learn how to fly, but I'm getting on in years, and I can't understand a word of what the guy in the tower is saying! Anyway best wishes, hope all your flights are safe and fun!

You sound a lot better than I did during my first solo. There was a lot of crying and screaming going on. But 40 years later things have changed. Now it's my passengers that are crying and screaming.

I remember when I first soloed....I was fine until I lifted off the runway looked over to my right and noticed no one was occupying the seat beside me thinking, oh holy crap I have to land this plane by myself! Least to say I landed it okay! Great job Bella!

I noticed Stick and rudder hanger in the background and it seem to have a name on it. I wonder if they are still there. I got my private and upgrades back in 1982. We had a lot of airplanes at the time. CutlessRG $48.00 per hour wet. 172 $42.00 per hour, when flying was affordable.
Yes stick and rudder is still there although we prefer Skill Aviation 😉.

So very Cool. Congrats Bella!!! Still hoping to take this first solo one day... I do have a question though. Most videos of people flying the pattern they call each turn. Thinking about it maybe that is just uncontrolled airspace that they do that. I have watched quite a few things, trying to learn, and This was the first time I noticed someone not calling out each turn.... Thanks! And again Congrats Bella!
@@D.c.0 I figured it was different but still only have seen people calling traffic and calling each turn in videos. Probably more habit than anything, maybe. I'm learning and the radio stuff is something that I have always worried about. So when I get to start real training I'm hoping to have some knowledge anyway. Plus flight sims don't do the radio stuff great and for now that is all the flying I am doing. lol..thanks for the reply
Yes correct, typically you call your position when operating at non towered airports. KUGN is class D towered.

60 years ago for my solo, 172 2425R Chandler Field Fresno Ca.
You would think that whoever set up the camera would notice that the right-side seat belt is blocking the view of the runway. While the seatbelt can be moved, some planes like
the Cessna Citation, Piper Cherokee, and DHC-6 Twin Otter have a large central support going down the center of the windshield. Moving this is not as easy.
We were happy to just get the cameras in on her first solo. More videos to come on here channel.
Way to go Bella, The video angles were fantastic and radio chatter was good to hear, but the music in first part around the 8:15 to 12:20 minute mark was distracting, had to turn volume down then I missed the chatter, great video

Just totaled it up, apparently 95😅 (3 of them were the ones I made with my instructor the day of my solo)
