There is a dad and or a mom or uncle, someone, who opened the doors and encouraged this girl to step through. Bravo to them as well. Its why this stuff happens. Because someone told her she could, and should do it.

Great job! At 16 year old, Me I am 43 and my first Solo - All was going fine until I looked over and realized my passenger seat was empty, I knew I could do it I was comfortable with landing it the first time by myself, I was so happy, excited but at the same time terrified. Everything my instructor told me flash through my head so quick, but it worked. It's a feeling you would never get unless you have a crack at it, and I would not change it for the world, it was the only time I was happy being terrified. LOL, Leslie Webb Australia QLD.

So there you are, climbing out of 500 ft AGL and wait, what? THERE’S NO ONE IN THE SEAT BESIDE YOU!!! What an amazing rush realizing you have to put that thing down all by yourself. The satisfaction of flying those 3 circuits is beyond most things you’ll ever experience. Move on and move up… wishing you blue skies and happy landings.

I don't remember the exact date of my solo (I'm 72!! and it was in the 70's) but I do remember I soloed at 14 hrs. At the time, married with young children. My oldest needed eye surgery and I had to quit lessons. Hindsight being 20/20, I just wish I had finished after I got a better job with major health care....

I hope they and fair comments of them get lots of likes, the equality growing in flying and maintaining airplanes will make life better and safer for both sides of the crews and public. And it is so refreshing to see the talents of everyone coming to this industry. It is natural and it works.

Flying is the only occupation where you don’t need a College degree to start learning to fly… I started flying when I retired at 50 and it was embarrassing to see all the young kids in ground school classes… I stopped flying right before my solo… went back to work… flying is an expensive hobby, but, one of the greatest positive experiences is landing the plane ….hitting the strip with a perfect landing is an amazing feeling…

Congrats! Just remember to clear the final approach path before pulling onto runway. Taking off from KHOT couple of summers ago I made my radio call for departure and did last check of before pulling out and there was a plane on short, SHORT final. His radios weren't working. He did a touch and go. I took off and the guy almost had a mid-air on downwind with a plane entering the pattern. Keep your head on a swivel and eyes out the windows in the pattern. Good job! Nice landings!

Congrats on your solo. If I may interject one thing. When taking the runway you should be looking at the approach to see if any plane is on final. They may have not heard your radio call that you were departing. The 1st and 3rd takeoff you never check for traffic. Congrats stay safe and fly high.

Congratulation on your first solo flight!
Some of the comments on this page have pointed out the you will never forget your first solo. They're right. I was 29 years old when I did mine in 1983, and I remember it like it happened last week. The sense of satisfaction has never left. At the time, Go Pros hadn't been invented yet, so I don't have the kind of documentation you have, but I did have a pocket audio cassette recorder, and made an audio recording of my last pre-solo flight with the CFI and my first solo flight. I still listen to it from time to time.
I've since become a CFI myself. I know how satisfied your CFI feels about signing you off. Congratulations to him also!
Best of luck with all your future aviation pursuits.

I lined up down the runway and my first shock was how the plane ( 152 Aerobat ) just shot into the air at rotation and climbed like crazy LOL I forgot the performance was going to be better with just me on board.
