So many people think they know everything and laugh at us when we give them facts they never heard. And like the guy above me said, it’s very laughable
*Some medications worsen ear wax production causing blockages. *Hearing aids increase blockages of ear wax; need more Earrigations. *People either produce dry hard wax or soft wax; this is dependent on the ABCC11 gene. Those with this hard, dry wax often need more Earrigations.
@@WarmPillowForever it's just good science my friend. I'll have you know I stayed at a holiday Inn express last night so my wealth of knowledge knows no bounds.
I had a girlfriend that was super cute but struggled everyday with massive amounts of ear wax. Wasnt a turn off since she cleaned her ears everyday. Just some people produce a lot of wax. She worked out a lot and sweat a lot so there was some reason as to why. I blamed it on wearing ear buds working out.
Nope it's just a genetic thing. People on my side of the family don't produce much earwax while my kids and his side of the family produce copious amounts.
I've had two doctors remark on my ears as being the cleqnest they ever saw during their practice. I don't do anything special, in fact I don't do anything at all to them for cleaning. I don't know if I don't make ear wax or my body is good at getting rid of everything.
Joined a genetic study & I also got regular genetic traits. Found out wet or dry ear wax is genetic. Thankfully mine is wet so fewer clogging problems!
Talk about timely! Due to a terrible case of vertigo last week thought to be caused by earwax I had to see my pcp! Turns out the vertigo was caused by a side effect to a medication!!!!
I used to have to go to the doctor every 12 to 18 months to have my ears unclogged. My dad had the same issue. But, I learned that something I was doing was likely contributing to the issue: After I take a shower I used to stick the towel in there to clean out the loosened earwax. The problem is that this action also pushes a tiny bit of the wax further down inside the canal. So, I started just cleaning/drying the outer portion (gently!) and have not had any issues for over 5 years.
I had multiple ear infections as a child, no medication or treatment helped. Today I still have more scar tissue in my ears than normal skin, and my earwax is very thin and my ears itch almost constantly.
I am one of the select few. My ENT, who had been doing it for 30 years when I came to him, said I created the most earwax of any patient he'd ever had. What a boring, terrible thing to be elite at.
Its not itchy at all. If you itch the skin reaction creates that itchy feeling. So don't itch and after a few times resisting the urge to itch it will stop.
When I shower I let the warm water spray into my ear canal first thing. Then at the end of the shower I do it again. I got the idea when I read an article saying it was a bad idea because the warm water can cause the semi circular canal fluid to convect and make you dizzy. But that’s never happened to me. It was uncomfortable at first but now I like it. When my doctor looks in my ears he says there’s no wax. And another thing; in grade school in the 1960s we saw a movie about survival after a nuclear war. One of the suggestions was to get some earwax on your fingertip and touch it to the surface of a puddle of water before drinking it. The wax would spread over the surface and push the contaminated particles away. The only other thing I remember was that newspaper was good for insulation and blankets. It’s good to be prepared….
When I was younger, I was told if you poured a beer and it had too much head/foam that wouldn't dissipate, you could use your finger to collect oil from your face to place on the foam. The first time I tried it, it dissipated immediately. Is this sorta the same concept? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I was just genuinely curious.
Mm... earwax water. I also shower my ear insides but use baby soap. Very gentle clean then use a sheet of toilet paper to dry out the crevices. I can't stand soggy ear feeling. Or soggy anything really, I dry super thoroughly and the only thing that can remain wet is head hair.
Earrigation could be a fun word.
Future Scrabble champion. 😂
I see what you did there haha
Having both ears irrigated at the same time is the strangest sensation I've ever felt.

_Q-tips have left the chat_
😂😂
They are really bad they just push the wax farther and farther and they can puncture the eardrum

"fancy pants name" 😂
This is why they hunted heads. Stick a wick in the ear and youve got a candle for the hut.

I'm one of those extra producers! I have to use debrox periodically. I did get one of those earwax cameras too. If you do buy one, be gentle with it!

@@syzygy4365 I get you. I don't produce much but clean ears everyday in shower. Used to get ear infections as a kid so super careful with my ears.

Why ear hair though?

Acidic in nature
I don’t have earwax i even used an ear cleaner with camera to actually see the inside and it’s pretty clean just wondering if this is normal.
Oh boy, lucky me. One of the few...
My kids and their dad produce a crazy amount of earwax. Maybe that's why they seem to have selective hearing. 😂

How often should the ears be irrigated?
There's no right answer. For some, never. For others, as often as every week. And everywhere in between.
And a tasty snack inbetween meals

I eat earwax from time to time as a treat :)
