What Psilocybin Does to Your Brain
    -----
In this video, Jonathan from the Institute of Human Anatomy delves into the fascinating effects of psilocybin on the brain. Learn what psilocybin is, how it affects different regions of the brain, including the prefrontal and visual cortices, and its impact on the default mode network, leading to phenomena like ego death. Discover the potential benefits of psilocybin for mental health, including its role in enhancing synaptic plasticity and its promising applications in treating conditions like PTSD, anxiety, depression, and addiction.
We also discuss the importance of set and setting in psilocybin sessions and highlight the potential risks and negative effects, especially for individuals with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder.

Psilocybin flipped the off switch on my social anxiety like a light switch. It's effect lasted long enough that I thought it permanent. My anxiety and doubts and lack of self worth was gone. Anything that can make you love yourself should be legal.

I have dealt with a crippling amount of social anxiety throughout my entire life. I took psilocybin with the expectations of having a fun visual trip for the first time, thinking nothing of how it would affect my brain. A week later, I noticed how much quieter things were in my head, and a lack of care for what others thought. Being around others is now just another part of my day, rather than a life or death fear.

I was on 10 grams dry and experienced ego dissolution. I was in the space of "nowhere". only a thin red line kept me connected to the rest of the world. when it washed away, there was nothing left. then everything came back. and when there was nothing, it was as if I existed when I did not exist. it was "nothing". it's neither good nor bad. it is pure "nothing".
I don’t feel like repeating this experience, as if everything had already become clear to me. It became easier for me to live. less anxiety, less fuss. there was regularity. I began to notice such things as the sunrise from the window in the morning and enjoy it. as if old processes were rebooted.

I micro dosed psilocybin for about 3 months at 0.10 g and this stuff helped me feel my emotions but ALSO helped me focus SO much as someone who suffers with getting distracted. I would compare it a slightly less intense as aderall in that sense but almost equal focus enhancing effects.
I also ate 10g of it all at once one time and had quite the trip. The therapeutic qualities of these mushrooms cannot be overstated. I believe however the reason they are still a schedule 1 drug is because they help you question any sort of unreasonable authority which is a threat to the powers that be. Just a hunch.

I have REALLY BAD anxiety and depression, like, life-alteringly, borderline handicapping anxiety and depression. Psychedelics help a lot. I haven't tried micro dosing because it seems like the research indicates the effect is mostly placebo. But in large doses, my trips help my suffering, in the moment, TREMENDOUSLY. Psychadelic trips may have saved my life. However, unfortunately for me, I have been unable to integrate the realizations and therapeutic breakthroughs I've experienced during trips into my everyday life, so I still experience a very rapid return to baseline mental illness.
Fortunately, psychedelics are non-addictive, and I am an addict in recovery, so if they were addictice, I would know. I just wish I could feel everyday like I do when I'm tripping, like everything is okay and everything will be okay.

If you do mushrooms, do them in a room or environment you're comfortable in with people you trust, this avoids having a bad trip.
Don't do them in a public place cuz you will laugh at random things and you might start getting paranoid of people noticing you.
Start with a lower dose, say 3 mushrooms, and see how it makes you feel. Feel great? up the dose next time.
Mentalize yourself into accepting sensory changes, let them happen and don't fight them. Enjoy them!
You will see better, you will hear better, you will feel your mind opening, it's a wonderful experience... You will NOT see things that aren't there or have auditory hallucinations, you will stay in control of your mind and be aware of what you say and do at all times. You will remember your whole experience once the effects are gone.
Stay away from the Amanita Muscana, which is that red top mushroom with white dots. That is NOT psilocybin.
Don't do them too often (maybe once a month or two), if you do them too often you will quickly become immune and not feel any effect. This will be for life.
    Definitely worth a try.

The safety record of Imperial College and Johns Hopkins University are outstanding where psilocybin has been used, but it should only be used with trained guides and medical screening. Psilocybin is such a gift to mankind. Was very unhappy/depressed in my late 20’s. Studied psychedelics for two years before my supportive wife picked up on my wanting to try it to help with my issues. She ended up getting me some randomly. Incredible transformation. My wife and father had a lot to do, with their support. What it does is makes you realize you don’t have a long time to live, it shows you what’s wrong with your life, what you’re doing wrong and what’s wrong with the way you’re treating people. It allows you to release your grief one session at a time. At some point you will be much better aligned with life. You’ll find that you don’t need it because you already know what you need to do. The experience itself is beautiful and incredible, even the hard trips that show you how bad a person you can be/have been. It will never get old, how beautiful and bizarre the visuals are. Nothing is like it. Great set and setting, amazing music, blindfold, in a dark room for 6-8 hours is a fantastic way to discover the experience and yourself. I highly recommend the experience for discovery and improvement. Absolutely incredible. ❤️

    Shrooms should be legal IMO
Also I dont think 5g of shrooms is a high dose, the first time i took it was 5g and i just made me energetic but very relaxed
Second time i tried i did 10g and thats when the profound thoughts kicked in and the feeling of conection with others

      Take them immediately.
Take them frequently. The "elites" get the BEST shrooms all for themselves.
Everyone is taking mushrooms. That is a GOOD thing. Remember PEACE and LOVE?
The government hates the idea that we would like to remake the world with L-O-V-E.
They hate FREE THINKERS. They think they should think for you. They say, "mushrooms are bad".
Are they? How? Then they will FRIGHTEN you to KEEP you under CONTROL. Is that any way to LIVE?
So get as many mushrooms as you you are able. Pass them out to friends.
The government is very busy slaughtering perfectly decent people because we LET them do it.
WE PAY THEIR SALARIES. They are OUR EMPLOYEES. NOT our "leaders". They are MORONS.
This same government would love to control your MIND...your CONSCIOUSNESS...your SOUL.
Does that sound like the kind of future that you want for yourself? Your family? Your friends?
And NO. We will not be VOTING our way out of this one. Sorry.
This time, everyone will have to get off their asses and PARTICIPATE.
A STUPID POLITICAL PARTY WILL NOT HELP YOU AT ALL! Get real.
Now that they have killed all those innocent children in Gaza...
...they have their eyes set on killing your children.
They hate "mushrooms". They hate Jesus. They hate you. They really despise me.
I was born before they could program me with their bullshit.
I am the original anarchist. The one they cannot stand.
Me and my "friends" are always up for a "good time".
Are you? Are you ready to spit in their eyes?
They need the tears. They NEVER cry.
If you take mushrooms...you may cry...
...tears of joy. Is that such a bad thing?
So get ready for an "interesting" summer.
These clowns in D.C. have absolutely no idea that the revolution is HERE.
Too late to stop us now. They "blew" it. They got sloppy.
WE FOUND the paper trail. Now we find the weakest link.
      When we break that guy...
...we'll know ALL about September 11.
      Then what?

    • @mikelawton6885
      @mikelawton6885 Місяць тому +4

Actually, it's not that predictable. There's a new pre-published study, which is sparking a more extensive investigation, done by a lab in Oakland. The gist of it is that Psilocybin can start to break down in some varieties of shrooms after 3 - 6 months. So the bigger study is to look at more examples, across more varieties and to look into the effect of variations in temperature, light, humidity, etc.. In general, some shrooms may get more powerful or concentrated, but many are likely to get weaker over time. Your best bet is still to probably be working with relatively fresh shrooms, but anything done outside of a clinical study is a bit of a crap shoot. Even so, at least there is no identified toxicity level that has been discovered.

I have been using and organizing magical sessions with the golden teacher variety for others for two years now.
From my experience, I have found that the golden mean formula works here
    0.05 x (your weight) = ideal dose.
For example: your weight is 70 kilograms. 0.05 x 70 = 3.5 grams dry. at this weight, you are most likely to have a harmonious and light Trip. I weigh 85 kg, and my sweet spot is 4 grams dry. It's always a great pleasure to have a consistently high-quality Trip once a month.
This formula can be used not as a clear instruction, but as a “vector to which you can strive,” since everyone has a different metabolic rate

I took a big dose of psilocybin and got a bunch happier for about 6 months, and a while after that I fell into the most awful mental space of my life. I had disturbing intrusive thoughts, experienced derealisation, severe depression, and frequent panic attacks. These are all things I'd never experienced in my life prior, and thankfully now 2 years later I've moved past that awful chapter of my life. My friend who I also introduced to mushrooms at the time eventually had a psychotic episode and ended up in a mental asylum for 3 months.
