Making "a single retcon" is a little outdated at this point, but Game Realizations always happen 8 years too late.

i feel like it couldn’t be the bite of 87 though, Scott mentions “I used SL to clear up a misconception from FNaF 4.” which could really only be referencing the private room password, and a retcon couldn’t be a misconception as it’s established information
also the mention of golden freddy having two souls having nothing to back it up is wrong, not only does the logbook (which is canon to the games) have cassidy communicating with another spirit (who mentions being scared and not being able to see), but the fazbear frights books also introduce the idea of suits being able to share souls with Andrew and Jake in the Stitchwraith (it should be mentioned that Andrew can either be interpreted as a parallel to Cassidy or the other spirit in the suit with Cassidy)

THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT THE COLOURBLINDNESS. The blue movie Bonnie really drove that home for me. My Dad can't differentiate those colours either. I sprite a lot and have a wider than average colour spectrum visable to me. We don't see the same colour shirt or car when out from time to time.
Buddy I'm sorry but I'm thinking you just immediately stopped reading that Scott post right at that line and then went on to make this video without reading the rest of it, because literally your ENTIRE video falls apart with the last line of that post:
_"To be clear, the one retcon mentioned was integrated pretty seamlessly, and most people didn't notice. If it had caused problems or confusion then I would have addressed it here."_
Bite of 83 vs. Bite of 87 was *THE* biggest confusion people had when FNAF 4 came out, and probably in the entire history of the series. It was the complete absolute polar opposite of "integrated seamlessly."
That's not even taking into consideration what he says literally immediately after the line mentioning the retcon:
_"There have been other times, however, when my original intentions didn't come across clearly. In those instances, I make a point to clarify in the next game. (...) I used SL to clear up a misconception from FNaF 4."_
The one thing that was cleared up in SL regarding FNAF 4 was that it took place in 1983, since it was the password used for the private room keypad. He specifically mentions this as not a retcon, but a misunderstanding, meaning there really just were two bites.
Also, for all the workarounds you went through to explain the inconsistencies with what we knew about the Bite of 87, you forgot to give an explanation as to why they no longer let the animatronics walk around the day because of it, considering Fredbear was on stage the whole time.
The stuff with the Mangle and Toy Chica toys have been explained for a while now, and with an explanation that makes way more sense and is all but outright confirmed to be what Scott intended: They're two of the six connections between the FNAF 4 minigames and the FNAF 3 hidden minigames.
Mangle's Quest = the Mangle toy
BB's Air Adventure = the kid with the balloon
Chica's Party = the toy Chica missing a beak
Shadow Bonnie's minigame = Spring Bonnie's shadow
Fredbear's minigame = Fredbear, duh
Happiest Day = The Bite of 83 scene. Both are set in a birthday party with balloons, with 4 kids wearing masks of the main 4 animatronics, all facing a 5th kid representing Fredbear / Golden Freddy. They're set up the exact same.
FNAF 4 was, in general, about how the Crying Child's memories are "broken" and must be "put back together" for the children's spirits to be released. This is all reinforced in FNAF World's clock ending, where the 8-bit Fredbear plush guides you so that you do minigames that mirror FNAF 3's minigames, and ends with him talking to the Crying Child and saying that "the pieces are in place for you." There's even a sprite of the FNAF 4 box open in the game files (y'know, the one Scott said contained "the pieces put together"?)
Anyway, all that said, the actual retcon was most likely either the FNAF 1 newspaper saying the killer got arrested (you said "the culprit never gets convicted" but that's not said at all, it just says he was captured and charged) or Phone Guy saying that Freddy's has existed for 20 years.
Y'know at first I wanted to make a counter-argument, but I feel like no amount of paragraphs can do your comment justice. At this point all I can say is to pick up a microphone and get your opinions to the world, since you've clearly done your research. I'm making Game Realizations since I never took other theories at face-value, and watching someone else call me wrong genuinely makes me smile.
Also, you're completely right that I only read that one line. I know there was a full post about that and I did know everything it said once upon a time, but I couldn't find the full post when I was making this video and I honestly would've reconsidered this video if I read the whole thing again, so congrats for calling me out on that.
All in all, you know your stuff and I think you should put that knowledge to use

The actual retcon was the identity of the spirit that inhabitants The Puppet, changed from Henry's son Sammy to his daughter Charlie when Scott was writing the books and decided to make it the big twist that she was Afton's first victim and made it line up in the game's continuity

hmm idk i think a lot is suspicious with fnaf 4 originally being in 1987 or having the bite 87 be changed to 1983
-even though mangle is super dangerous and might be fatal, there still had to be some animatronic whose precise enough on accident or not to still remove the frontal lobe, the frontal lobe being removed would be almost fatal for any victim from any animatronic
-mangle has plastic teeth and is only aggressive towards adults so that might increase likely hood of survival
-bv was thrown into a stationary fredbear, but phone guy says due to the bite of 87 they dont let the animatronics roam around in the day anymore, even though fredbear wasnt roaming around during his bite
-there still might've been a chance that fnaf 4 was meant to take places years before fnaf 2 even during teasers since the fnaf 2 phone calls state that Fredbear's family dinner had been closed for years, which might imply the bite at fredbear's took place years ago, likely in 1983
-the toy animatronics being around as toys is a pretty good point but they might just be there as only literal toy versions and not have any restaurant yet, or fnaf 2 was open in early 1987, or just to draw connections between fnaf 4 and happiest day animatronics
-it does say 87 a lot in the fnaf 4 teasers which is a really good point against 1983, but again fredbear's being mentioned might imply otherwise, the 87s could be in reference to just a bite taking place, or a reference to phone guy mentioning FFD during 1987
-phone guy in fnaf 2 acts as if there wasn't a bite of 87 yet and the toys are allowed to roam around in the day
although it is super suspicious having 2 bites with one being offscreen, i think the timeline works better with having two bites, given everything we originally knew about the original bite of 87 like it being an animatronic roaming around during the day with the victim surviving sometime after fnaf 2's gameplay with fredbear's being closed years ago
if true this would go beyond the definition of just filling in gaps later on in the story-retcon, it would be rewriting the original story-retcon, making it a massive retcon, however scott said he only made 1 small retcon that no one noticed in a post

Oh yeah, that is bad audio. I don't think there only one retcon, but as for this one. I do believe the Bite of 83 was going to be the Bite of 87, as you pointed out all the information was pointing to it being the case with the lead up to FNAF 4. However, Scott did change the 87 numbers to 83s before the game was released. But that's neither here nor there. I believe Scott changed it to avoid create an issue in the continuity before he even released FNAF 4. What is that issue? Weeellll.... In Fnaf 2 during the FNAF 2 Night 5 phone call Phone Guy says Fredbear's Family Dinner had been closed down for years. So if FNAF 4 took place during 87, it would create a contradiction with FNAF 2. In addition you have the FNAF 1's Night 1 Phone Call saying "they used to be allowed to walk around during the day, but then there was was the Bite of 87." Fredbear's Family Dinner lacks animatronics that are walking around, but FNAF 2 which does take place in 1987 has animatronics that can walk around during the day. The Bite of 83 happens on the stage with Fredbear, while the Bite of 87 happens with a wandering animatronic. So I do think Scott was planning for this to have originally been the Bite of 87, but scrapped it in the development process into being completely different bite to avoid creating a contradiction.

No, he was thinking that it was widely believed that the entire month did the bite but actually it was the endo teeth that did the damage which where shorter but wide enough to fit a human frontly lobe and remove it but still enough to survive from.
And before you say how Mangle was able to get to the victim's frontly lobe within it's inner jaws with out entire month closing upon it, Mangle's headpiece jaw was unhinged making it easy for the attack

Let me share a thing that i think is right: Golden Freddy is NOT Fredbear.
Reasons: STRONG color difference and appearance forms. GFred has black accessories, while the FredB has purple. GFred only appears like a ghost or a toy, while the FredB was an existing animatronic. It's really important to make them separate bc otherwise it creates confusions like you've had in the video with 2 souls living in one animatronic.
I have no idea why FredB has a BROWN HAT in fnaf 3 but at the same time remember who's the guy that created the games, right?
I have a full video planned about FNAF's completion bias and how it effects certain characters, but for a quick rundown I view FNAF 1's "Yellow Bear" and FNAF 2's "Golden Freddy" as apparitions of Fredbear that match the current aesthetic of Missing Children Animatronics. They're appropriate stand-ins for the absence of an actual Fredbear costume, like an inverse of Phantom Bonnie's absence in FNAF 3, because Springtrap actually exists in the Fazbear's Fright building.
