Hello beautiful people and thank you for coming, I hope you're doing fine this quarantine and if you're looking for something to hear I wanna take the liberty of announcing my new channel where I'm going to release my original music, if you go now you can hear my new single "Quarantine (The Corona Song)" a song I've made as a product of the lockdown, hope you enjoy it 🎧 ua-cam.com/video/qb0a7K32Ymk/v-deo.html
I thought they were the same band for some reason, inspired?
No it does not LMAO sounds like Ozzy Osbourn
I think this actually sounds better than the original
The funny thing is, this is the original
@@Crazyfirsts852 It isn't, listen in comparison and there is some instrumental changes, or is it some changing of the balance, changes about 1:33.
I’m totally agree with you
I love it
I thought it was Sting the first dozen times I heard it
Mara Mayhem it is basically
Está música não é do The Police, é do Gotye
Same.
When I first heard this song I knew it's NOT Sting,
but Gotye's voice sample is the closest to Sting that I know
That IS it
It's less about him sounding like sting and more about the whole song composition sounding like the police, but it's strange because it doesn't actually sound like any specific police song. It just has that same something something, it's hard to completely put your finger on it. Maybe it's the chord progressions and the vocals tending to hit minor notes when belting, almost sounding flat, but in a good way.
@@rich1051414 It's got the progression of King Of Pain and Can't Stand Losing (the verses)
I totally assumed it was Sting, but I get it, there is some difference, a younger voice, but it's about the same with just a bit less rasp which Sting I'm sure could do.
Brings to Mind, STING, singing about "...do the Russians Love, their children, too?" Song.
The voice similarity between Gotye and Sting is striking
Same clone probably.
Gotye is so similar to Sting that they could REALLY appear as the Police.
STING, should sing, with GOTYE, on SATURDAY NITE LIVE?
The first time I heard Gotye's version I thought he kinda sounded like Sting.
ik right
I absolutely love playing my Roland TD30KV VDRUMS to this song. It is so well mixed and they are two of my favourite songs..! Well done 👍👍
This song’s lyrics are so vivid! Every word is almost perfect
When they go forte, the unison on effects sounds very similar to how Sting belts it out. It's a good recording regardless of who does it.
Rlly nice drums and backing guitar
If it was a police song... it would be exactly the same xD This song is basically already a police song :P
I think it would be a little faster not much but it would ve
It's a Police song. Talk about a favor from Sting. On par with Bono helping The Corrs out.
Apart from the similarity in the vocals obviously, nothing in the original mix sounds like The Police.
@@wildanS you need to listen to the police version, it's identical.
I honestly thought it was a police song
What's really cool is sting and the police are still a beloved band and a lot of us here get to dream for 4:20 it was them. I hope they influenced the band who made a really good song that made us feel that way. Good on them. Not only did I think it was sting at first but I also thought it was Katie Perry on there too. lol.
Yep, my first thoughts when hearing the female vocal- very, very Katy Pery! Spot on!
What a surprise! When I first heard gotye's ver, I thought it was definitely a police sound. Is it original⁉️🌟
It’s original yes he only sounds like sting during the course.
@@Stockhandle123
Thanks.
Seriously thought it was Sting back in 2011. Sounds like him.
This Mix is amazing, better than any other version released. This should’ve at least been the radio mix instead of what it actually is. This fits it wayyyyyy better.
musical magic, tumultuous relationships, lost love or social alienation (to be expected according to listening)
This is honestly the greatest mix of this song I’ve heard.
It would be the same! When I first saw the cartoon picture version I first thought it was sting!,,
'Somebody That I Used to Know' is a pop song written, recorded, produced and performed by Belgian-Australian singer-songwriter Gotye - the stage name of Wouter 'Wally' De Backer and featuring New Zealand singer Kimbra.
The backing guitar is pouring honey into my ears
Wow! I thought this was originally sung by Sting, until I googled it!
Parabens demais
Many thanks, its fabulous :)
Gotye is Sting's AI LOL
Great one!
the verses are missing drums, it needs something like the drums and guitar of "roxane" or "can't stand losing you" during the verses.
I always heard in sting voice...i know about the Gotye today...
I heard the song on guitar only, and immediately thought of Police. ❤
Beautiful song God bless you
great mixing
Também pensava que era The Police, mas a música é do Gotye
I remember when I first heard it I thought it was a new Sting song as Gotye sounds just like him.
Perfect !
Locked Out of Heaven deserves to be in that mix too
LOL, I thought this was by the Police when I first heard it! Learned years later it was by Gotye.
I can swear i hear this song in late 80s when i was kid and Sting sang it
Gotye and Sting (The Police) would be another example.
I wanna save this on apple music
finally found the original version 😂🔥🔥🔥
Where is it? I can’t find it
This is not the original 😂
That snare is too fat for steward tho ;)
Which song is the original!? Gotye or this one!?
This one
Amazing 🥰
Please do a tutorial for the guitar part!!!
Why does the internet say, written by not STING?
great song
Magnifico!!
Dude, this is the better version of this song. I can't stop listening to this. Now you've ruined the original for me haha.
No offense to gotye but I instantly liked this version better too 😂
I thought It was a Sting Song until now, I’m very desappointed
I love Sting, but if you like the song, does it really matter who wrote and sang it! These two song writers won a Grammy for this one hit wonder!
INCROYADBLE
I unironically like this way more then the original
I love listen this sing, but I don’t understand the lyrics because I am french.
La chanson parle essentiellement d’un homme à qui sa copine a cessé de parler et maintenant c’est quelqu’un qu’il connaissait auparavant.
@@jaimenbrunson1652 thank you very much because thank to you i understand better this magnificent song than before where i don't understand anymore a single english word , bye.
Comentario en castellano a la vista. Amo esta canción!!!!!
Yes, it's fully the polis's style
Da same shit, no me jodas.
❤️Me sigue gustando la rola.
As much as it sounds like Sting singing, if it was a Sting song, it doesn't sound like a song that 'The Police' would sing, it is very similar to something Sting would do as a solo song. Now let's get to the point! It was never a song written by Sting and the Police, nor was it ever performed by Sting or The Police. The song was written by Wally de Backer (Gotye} and Luiz Bonfá a Brazilian songwriter.
Whatt a fuck no es de gotye?? Es the police😮❤❤❤
Thought I was getting trolled until I heard the beat dropped xdxd
Hostia es the police y no de gotye!?!? Oleeee que temazooo❤❤❤❤
Es genial
Wow
Is that you?
You amaze me
Nice! Happened across this when looking this older (I think?) version of the idea, in which the hats on the verse are a bit off, unfortunately. Good drum entry into the chorus though, and nice Andy Summers-esque twiddling about. ua-cam.com/video/vaBAdNLIDEA/v-deo.html
❤▶️🔁
Need the lyrics
WAOOOO
The Police have the BEST version of this song 🎵 my favorite 💙
Omg. Hahaha. Nice!!
Seriously? You think Stewart Copeland on drums would play like this??? Christ.............. get real man.
It should be reggae
I'm confused 🥴
No way this is the police. Gotye makes 1 good song and people say he robbed it. Maybe this song, like so many others, is actually done by someone else, but the best version is always the best. I congratulate original artists, but if someone does your song better give them credit.
ME LIKE
Wtf, no one know its from the police? lol
Well this is misleading
It's the same as Gotye's version, that isn't good
The drums.
And all the extra guitar
Margaret Ramondino these people made it first
Chill- Playz games what are you talking about
and the bass line is diferent
The inferior cover of the song The Police didn't write. Lol
This is the only popular culture song that I even remotely enjoy.
Ok. Idk if this is a Mandela effect or not, but I heard this song YEARS before the original gotye version. I heard this on the 80’s stations all the time and I’m freaking out trying to find this song cuz I liked it. Like bro, Am I genuinely in the matrix? Did the matrix glitch and all the sudden this song was by someone else? Or did I enter another fucking universe where the police version never existed? Or am I just batshit insane?
Its a glitch in the matrix. I have the same with Sia - Chandelier ...
Your not insane, don't worry about it.
I'm pretty sure it was Sting or Peter Gabriel but I can't find anything apart from this thief gotye.
If it is a Mandela it's my first but I swear I listened to this year's ago like yourself.
If your Scottish you will understand what Got Ye means though
Same here. I heard this in the 80's.
Esta canción es original de The police
I fucking hear ya! Going batshit crazy trying to prove to my friend that this was originally done by The Police, in the 80s, as you say! Can't find it. This is the only thing that comes up! WTAF??
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Somebody_That_I_Used_to_Know
They do mention Sting in the article.
Magnifico!!
