This is my top Thai island to check out. Unfortunately for me I did not hear about it until after I had been to Thailand!! It's my friends favourite island. Thanks for a real good look at it. Happy Travels
Happy, healthy New Year 2023, Gabriel, always full of joy and beautiful experieces . This vlog and the island with the ocean, beaches, jungle.. really look like heaven on earth. Thanks for having shared so much with us ,throughout 2022 and your hard work... Best greetings from the French Alps, no more snow below 2000m. 🖐🍾🥂🔥☮
So much nostalgia watching this! Had the best trip to this island in Dec 2019! We turned up with nothing booked, grabbed some wifi and found a little bungalow at Lipe beach resort. Was such a delight! Can't wait to be back! Fully agree about it meeting the expectations, just hope it's as good when I return!
Just wanted to say I'm loving the southeast Asia series, Gabe. Catching up on watching some of your video's as you may notice. Keep exploring man! Peace!
Watching this has made me realise how much of the island I didn’t see. Looks allot more built up from when I went in 2019, especially the walking street. Stayed on a beachfront bungalow on sunrise beach at Castaway, pricey but really recommend it. Great video as always Gabriel 👍🏼
I was very lucky to explore this tiny island with my ex-girlfriend in January 2016. It has been so nice to relive those beautiful memories through GT's eyes. Nice work and very nice video. Well done!
Hey Gabriel, I'm impressed that you are continuing exploring, with some great destinations through the holidays. By the way you missed the attractive ladies waving at you at about 7.40 . Keep powering on through 2023 and have fun !
Hi Gabriel, this is a relaxing time and a beautiful place to unwind and recharge your batteries. The bungalows look truly relaxing right on the beach. The just isn't much to do around the island aside from what you see but you could island hop over and take in what the other islands offer. This is going to be one of the biggest years for traveling yet as days go by allowing more time for people to get back to even greater normalcy with less restriction. I'm sure your plans for traveling this year are on a grand scale.

I like Koh Samui and made my first house from scratch and still own it but live in Nakhon Sawn in a house with my Thai wife. I came out here 23 years ago to Thailand and never regretted it
Reviewing this video and loving it. More commentary follows. But first what struck me about Koh Lipe were two things: * Koh Lipe have a Goa type vibe, yes? ** And, Koh Lipe is spelled KOH LIPE and not KO LIPE. 1) You get everything out of one place that can be gotten out of a place. 2) Seattle's American Hotel hostel is $143 / night for 4 beds with possible roomies. Crazy ... 3) Rusticity rules in much of this video. Nice lush scenery but I still would not recommend eating in ANY restaurant that is not well-patronised, and does not have good turnover. You know, just saying ... 4) Beautiful gtem coloured waters there are in Thailand, aren't there? 5) 15:36 -- It all looked much more touristy and visited, from here to about 19:10. 6) TRIP-py birdie at 18:03, should have gone into stand-up, so funny was his yammering. 7) OK so after that jungle hike at about 20:00, how do you know that the mosquitoes you encountered won't give you a mean case of DENGUE FEVER? They can, you can. 8) Ever clamour for a compass? I mean, have you ever been lost to the point of wondering: How in the Hell am I gonna get out of this joint semi-alive? Or, is your sense of direction super on point? 9) Dang, those massage parlors ... Any hookers up in those joints? (The things that much you go go, hmmmm ...) 10) At 28:10 Did I miss the caption and not see what you ate? Because I could not. And finally, BA-BOOF, them fiya-works! Fireworks made everything mo'bettah, don't they? Great way to end a video, Gabriel!
I did your poll, but after watching this one I noticed that you had light background music while taking, I like it, just not a fan of videos with just background music that seems to Go on and on. Your vlogs are great, personally
They have really developed the island fast. When I was there in 2006 and 2008 the only traffic was on the sea. There was nothing on the island besides bungalows and some diveshops with a few bars in between. And a sea gypsy village. There wasn’t even a pharmacy to be found, which I needed due to a bad chicken dinner 😄
Being that Koh Phi Phi island is one of the most touristy islands in Thailand, I’m surprised it’s your favorite. You don’t strike me as the touristy and busy location type. I was just there and yes it’s beautiful with Maya Bay nearby, but wayyy too touristy! There’s even a McDonald’s and Burger King on Koh Phi Phi island 🤷♂️
greetings from Kuala Lumpur! we were amazed with your opening shot of the fire-eaters. Looks like the Osma Action does a decent enough job in low light, dare we say better than the Action 3? anyway enjoy your stay in paradise Gabe, but if you're ever in Malaysia you should try Pulau Redang (Redang Island) ❣
About the Muslim majority on the island, the best way to find out is by checking if the have the sound system that broadcasts prayer at different parts of the day. All hardcore Muslim islands in Thailand have that, like Koh Lanta for example.
I haven't seen a mosque or heard the call to prayer yet. Since it's a small island I should have heard it at some point. No mosque does suggest there aren't many serious Muslims here.
I don’t understand why Thailand has legalised the evil weed, as it will only attract druggies and lead to an increase in addiction, theft and stealing. From a tourist point of view, this could make these beautiful places less safe.
I've never heard of that island in the Philippines. Best island in the world, good question. Kaui, Hawaii comes to mind. Otherwise a Greek island but it's so hard to narrow it down to just one Greek island.
Very nice! How was the customs process from Langkawi to Koh Lipe, was it an easy process? I saw when you arrived at Koh Lipe, I believe you did not have to go through customs, correct? Thanks!
Yes there was customs on the island. They took our passports before the boat ride and gave them back to us on Ko Lipe. I didn't get around to explaining the whole process.
Wow! This place is amazing! I've never heard of this island until now. I've always just heard of Koh Phangan and Koh Sumui. the water looks so luscious and inviting. Geez wish I was there right now! And I miss these little tourist business districts like that main strip. Haven't been to a place that looks or feels even remotely similar to that in eons. Don't even remember visiting a place that felt sort of similar to that, since I was in Guatemala in 2006.
Gabriel, what happened to your camera? Just about everything on Koh Lipe in the recent two videos was dark and blurry? Your old prehistoric Actiontec camera seemed better than this.
Do you have the video quality set at 1080p? It looks good to me in terms of the parts of the video that were filmed in the strong sunlight. But a lot of this video was filmed in the trees and my DJI doesn't perform well in low lighting. That's always been the case with it unfortunately.
Okay. It's probably a matter of the low lighting in the forest. Out in the bright sunshine it looks a lot better. That's just the way it is with action cameras, they don't have a large enough light sensor to adequately handle low light situations.
