So, the facts are: 1) no collision occurred. 2) Harbor Pilot and Ferry Captain were in constant contact during incident. 3) horn was sounded as a precaution. 4) tug boats were in place to prevent a collision. Questionable statements: LNG tankers are floating bombs, how often do these “bombs” explode? Unknown facts: the true distance from the ship to the Ferry. Hollywood has taught the best way to make items appear closer than they are is to photograph them in the manner shown in this video. Looks to me like the professional mariners took an unplanned event and handled it with skill no matter how fearful non-mariner may have become. It is called PORT Aransas after all. Big ships should be expected.
Port A used to be a small fishing town. They are dredging it to make it deeper so larger ships can make it to Corpus. Its sad that its also a tourist trap.
@@ratherbfishing455 Port A is still a relatively small town and the fishing is still very good. Also, surfers seem to like our beautiful beach. Yes, they are dredging the ship channel to deepen it all the way into Corpus. Tourists do come here in droves during the Summer and we do get a fair amount of Winter Texans. However, these tourists have allowed the $100,000 homes owned by the City Fathers to grow in value to $600,000+, have created communities of large well built houses, and the city recently passed some building restrictions that limit the number of houses that can be built by increasing the required lot size per house and limiting building height. But, the overriding feature that makes Port A great is the attitude & friendliness of the true “local” residents. No it is not the small village FDR visited in the 1930s, nor is the small village that existed most of the last quarter of the 20th Century. But, what is the same as in those bygone days? Port A is still a shining star on the Gulf Coast!

Ship wasn't even near the ferry boat. But I guess a precaution is better than none. And it is NOT a floating bomb.
