They say this line was impossible to build because of sandstorm. somehow china build it and now they are doing it in Saudi to.
Yes, that's also what I've heard. This is why I say on the video "i can get into a lot of details about this line but from a technical point of view this line is just great". And that's true. At first I was saying so many things about that in the video, most people probably don't care haha. It's hard not to give too much Info and still tell what you wang to tell.
the train is anti-wind/sand type, also need some wind break wall in special area
Nice trip report China has the worlds largest high speed network which has been hugely developed in the past 10 years or so there will probably be many more
Absolutely. One thing i didn't mentioned (/knew when i made this video) when you put things in perspective Spain has the highest number of high speed rail.
you all prolly dont give a damn but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can give me!
@Shepherd Angel Instablaster :)
@Orlando Zyaire thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im trying it out now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Orlando Zyaire It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
It would have been great if you mentioned how long exactly the trip took and other basic technical info about the ride itself, like prices, etc..
Urumqi is not a small city even by Chinese standard. It has more than 3 million population. Nice trip report BTW. The Chinese train is larger than European trains so they can put 5 seats.
Hong
3 million is very small compared with all those cities on the east coast
@@firefly4784 not really. There are only 10-15 cities with population over 5 million. I am talking about actual built up city population, not administration city population.
The thing with west China is that its population is very sparse in general but dense in some major cities. Some of the stations seem to be built in no-where, 'cause unlike in the west, the major goal is to provide transportation (with social, military and political reasons) even when there is a loss of profit >_>
Yes that's true. Well I didn't mention it this way in my video but I know they don't make any profit on these lines. And that's okay, it's "public transport". So it's a service to the people, I really like this service. According to the statement of the government this is also build for "ethnical unification", so to get the west closer to the rest of China. Also it's the highest (altitude) high-speed railway line in the world, what makes it even more special.
@@Trainviking I am surprised that you actually know the fact about "ethnical unification", haha, didn't want to mention it because it sounds too propaganda-ish. But yeah, it definitely does promote social interaction and also commerce.
7:16 China Green Train from Urumqi to Changchun (长春) capital of northeast China's Jilin province
Travel distant 3,700km +-
Similar as from Spain Seville to Lithuania Capital Vilnius
Fantastisch!
What a adventurer!
Awesome watch, thank you. I love taking High Speed Rail in China and I hope to travel from Xi'an to Kashgar next year.
When did you start reviewing rail journeys?
Thank you, it's a great experience indeed.
I actually started this channel when I made this trip in September 2019. And look at me now, almost 200 video's and 4,5 years later, I'm still doing it and it kind of starts to pay for itself.
@@Trainviking where has been your favourite country to travel?
Noord-Korea lijkt me ook zo tof!
@trainviking, if you ever have the opportunity to go to lijiang, the train station there is built like it was was carved out of the mountain behind it...
Ooohh sounds pretty cool. I definitely have lots of travel plans commimg ahead, so no worries about that. When corona is over (ans i do have a new job, sincw i lost my job due to corona) i definitely will travel like crazy again.
Z trains are the best and cost effective trains in China . Usually they use high speed rail tracks cost 1/3 of D trains and are only 25 % slower than D trains !!!
Oooohh good to know..next time I'm in China I'll definitely should try them out.
Good compliment, I'm now in Kazakhstan could you tel me how I can buy the tickets in Almaty to ride to China please, bye.
Thank you :). As far as I could find out the service between Kazachstan and China has been suspended since covid hit in. I would really like to see this connection back on track again.
Very good video I’m looking for a straight flight from uk to Xinjiang but can’t seem to find any. How did you get to Xinjiang from Netherlands did you fly to Beijing then get a flight from Beijing to Urumqi?
I didn't fly, I travelled by train from the Netherlands.
@@Trainviking Difficult today, as you cannot enter Russia. And it's a long way around.
Good job。Tell us about the true China far west, better than BBC, CNN.
The attendants are beautiful. :-)
You went to the city wich one will host the Asian games.
How much was the train ticket?
The background music was too loud compared to your voice, making it difficult to understand what you were saying.
Thanks for the feedback. This is one of my first video's, had to get used to it. I think in my newer videos you won't have it this loud anymore.
There are not much high speed train in Europe except in Germany. The rest cannot match the high speed trains of China travelling such a long distance.
China is doing a great job on high speed trains, in Europe spain is by far the most advanced. When you look at the number of people that live in a country and the number of high speed railways, actually Spain is the big winner, far ahead of any other country. Italy and France do have a great high-speed system as well, germany is but bad but not as good as Spain, Italy or France. In Europe there are great high-speed tfains and systems but it should be linked more to each other.
France bruh?? TGV ??? Better than Germany.
This high speed is much faster
Music is good.
What is the name of the sound track you used in this video?
what is the type of the train?!
CRH5A、CRH5G
@@liujiangogogo CRH5G in accurate, improved version of CRH5A (Pendolino based) that are better prepared to sandstorms
Urumqi is Xinjiang a costal fully oil rich dominated by Han chins there's s lot of growth in western china
Okat, i sure believe so that there's a lot or growth. Would be interesting to see this place in a couple of years from now.
Xinjiang is in and part of China. What do you want to say?
@@wsmithe2209 all weak neighboring countries are part of China autonomous regions .that's what I'm saying.nobody trying to overturn your judgment.
Where is the end of your journey?beijing or shanghai?
The end of my journey in China is Shanghai. But I'll continue in Asia in South-Korea.
@@Trainviking name of the music at the end please 🙂
Dzungaria (Urumchi). Urumchi is located in Dzungaria, its natives used to be called Dzungers. Han Chinese, hui and Uighurs from taklamakan desert aka southern xinjiang have taken up residence in this Han built city on Dzungar land.
I know very well what's going on. However, I keep politics at the background. I have a very strong relationship with Taiwan, and I don't want trouble for anyone in my environment. This route just happened to be the fastest route from the Netherlands to Beijing from the Netherlands. Therefore, the best combination of seeing things and travel. I openly reported about what I saw as a train passenger and I only comment on the railways. Actually I'm already saying that this line doesn't make a lot of sense in the video.
@@Trainviking I don't have any problem with you or your video, its great infact. my reason for posting is to educate those ignorant individuals with thier stupid catch phrases like "free east Turkestan" or whatever, while knowing absolutely nothing about the diverse lands, people's, histories and tribes that make up Xinjiang. it will be as stupid as one indigenous tribe in Taiwan, America or Australia suddenly claiming the entire land as thier own, when in reality thousands of different tribes with different languages, customs and religions called there home before the colonists arrived.
How much is the price of the ticket ?
This depends a little on where you book it, most companies that do sell tickets will charge a but extra (but the are very helpful as well). For this train I think it's about € 105 for first class and € 70 for second class, all the way.
@@Trainviking that is correct....
you ought to try it...the ride+view+fellow passengers are fantastic !!!
What was time and cost?
I think it's about 10 hours. The train won't go that fast for the biggest part of the journey. Because i didn't booked directly (i dont speak chinese and the website is only in English) i paid a bit more but it was comparing to the distance and comfort very reasonable, i thoight something like € 80 or so.
You don’t always have to whisper your narration, you know that, right? It is hard to hear you sometimes. I thought Vikings are loud and forceful. 😉
There is no train from xinjiang to netherland, Europe cancelled silk road project due to 3rd class safety standard of chinese train. Any country can make bullet train, japan invented it, just ask them for design, but other country cant grab farmers land easily like china.
This was all in September 2019, at this moment the journey wouldn't be possible of course.
Jealous ass
There's been a rail connection for freight from China(Yiwu) to EU cities since 2015.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating. If its that easy to build HSR network how come there's so few of them the world right now ?? UK has been talking about building HS2 for decades, and yet can't even start doing so. Sure it is easier to acquire land to build the network in China because of their system of government. Most affected landowners cooperate with the authorities, because in China the mentality of most people are less individualistic where the greater good of the community takes priority over the good of the individual, unlike the west. And the land owners are properly compensated and NO, their land are not grabbed.
BTW Japan did not "invent" bullet train. HSR is just the latest installment of rail transportation evolution. Western media just labelled Japan's HSR train 'bullet' because the front locomotive is shaped like one. They're just called Shinkansen in Japan.
Abhi 739 - you need to go to America and talk to those Native Americans about their lands being grabbed and taken away. Did you see any farm land along side of the train in this video?
In China there's rule of law and government cant' grab land without due compensation. Unlike India where corrupt politicians can anyhow grab and low caste peasants can't even own a land. Any country can make bullet train? Absolutely not. India can't and don't have any. But China can and have plenty.
