    Love your content. Its getting me back into model building after probably 15 years of not doing any. Just ordered 3 models and some supplies from model roundup. Can’t wait to get them Monday!

    As an old dude who’s been building since the 70’s,these old kits spoiled us. Quality kits with so many options. Looked great. Fit great. This is definitely one of those kits.

    Excellent build and presentation as always Chris. This is one of my all time favorites from AMT! I have one of each and every release of this kit from the original release and will get this release when available! I really can't tell you how many times I hVe built this kit

    It came out brilliantly. This is how all kits should be: tons of part and decal options. 👍

    *I built that kit as a kid 40 years ago and put the aligator in the back package tray so you can see him in the rear window~This '57 builds into a very nice model~Seems very heavy and sturdy compared to other brands '57s I have built over the years~Your turned out awesome~I love to watch all your videos*

    Nice job on one of my favorite kits ! Not long ago I built two out of a box of spare parts I accumulated over 20-25 years.
    One I built pretty much as yours here. The other is a beat up, tired old stocker.
    And now I need to buy one of these !

    Cool little build. I haven't built/ owned a model in decades but this year I made the mistake of picking up a dozen old Johan kits at a swap meet. And haven't stopped buying since now have around 100 kits. Not this kit yet but in 1 of my lot buys I acquired the 56 hdtp 78 release. Someone started it painted the body with a brush. I've striped it and made a candy apple gasser it's about finished. So now I'm doing a diorama lol like I'm not busy enough to start building again lol smh

    The shifter that looks “like a guys face” is a Voodoo head shifter. The real ones were slightly smaller and available through the JC Whitney catalog around 1959/60. They were chrome or black with large red jeweled eyes. I have on in my ‘57 Bel Air.

    I built this kit back in 1967. It happens to be green and black also only without the black roof. Painted my engine gold. The black on the fin inset is black flocking and the interior is flocked in black and green. I'm now 71 and still have that model. First and only car I entered in a contest and took home first place. Wish I knew what happened to the trophy.

    Haven't seen the Cobra 🐍 build yet when I seen this I had to jump over it and check out the Pepper Shaker. This is already on my list but now that I've seen the build at least 2 are on the list. By looking threw the comments this kit has some history. Looks like it's been released at least once every decade since the 60's. I was heavily into modeling in the 60's, 70's, and part of the 80's and can't believe I don't remember it. I am aware of the last release, I was gonna get it until I saw this one. BTW the shifter looks like a Tiki God statue.

    Wonder why it’s called pepper shaker but not black or chili pepper red on the box. Metallic green doesn’t really make sense.
    But if I buy this kit, I can fix that. I’d paint it the same color as my daily driver, a 1 of 2500 (1 of 500 that year) Chili Pepper Red edition 98 Wrangler.

    Chris! What Glue do use that set's up that quickly???? I am using many Different Types including the Green Top Tamiya I have seen in Many of your Build Videos. But mine does not set up that rapidly. ANY ANSWER WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. I Retired at the End of 2020 and since I am a Single Man and my Son's are both grown and doing very well with families of their own. I decided to get back into modeling that I enjoyed sooo much as a Young Man. The ONLY thing we had back then to the Model Laymen was Testors Glue which took quiet a while to Dry as you know. Great Build as always and really like the color Scheme. Thanks in Advance and keep em coming!!!!

    Just asking? Have you ever had any issues with spraying other paint over "Rust-Oleum" primers?
    Was asking because I was about to use it, under a Tamiya color? Or even Testors? Didn't want to
    have to put the body in the "stripper" solution and have to re-spray it... Your thoughts?

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  2 роки тому

      I don't try to two tone Rustoleums or Krylons over each other once dry, they usually react poorly.
      I have shot most other sprays over them in LIGHT coats and have not had issues, but always test first, I can't vouch for every combination or shop circumstances.

    • @hpiguy
      @hpiguy  2 роки тому

      Depends on how humid it is and how thick you applied it.
      I dry mine in a dehydrator and it takes 30 minutes, if left out probably overnight.
