I just finished watching you and your buddy went there. Recently I did go on May 3rd. Lots of white bass and crappies. But I didn't go all the way like you guys did. I wanted to go that same channel you guys were on to where the water flow into the lake but it was just me, my wife and kid so I think they'll be scared of the night because there are alot of weird noises at night, 😆. I'm going back the end of this month.
@gyoutdoors I always fish at the entrance of Las Tablas... That's the honey hole. If you take the Las Tablas channel all the way and make a left at the end, you'll dead end to a small water fall too.
For this trip, these white bass will only bite on small (1-1.5") crank bait, roosters tail, and cast masters. Only spot bitting is upriver (crystal clear water) because the water flows into the lake. The only way to get there is by boat, and it's almost 1 hour driving on boat. You can try to fish them at the boat launch, but it's very muddy.
This is a very old boat. It's a 1989 Bluefin Sportsman 1900. I repowered it with a Mercury Optimax 225. I replaced the windshield and done lots of custom work to it.
@@thorgarage wow that's alot of power for a 19 footer; I have a 96 starcraft fishmaster 190 same like urs and it's only rated for 150 so I repowered to a optimax 150
@Va Yang it's actually rated for a 150HP. I overpowered it but my hull is not designed for speed so it's still slow. I normally go half throttle and cruise at 30-35MPH.
Going again this Friday (4/21/2023). This whole week is actually good for night fishing because there is no moon (dark). Will see how I do this Friday.
@THOR GARAGE hey just wandering are you guy camp there also. I camp at the camp site on 04/21/23. I was looking around to see if I can cha with hmong brother but No one at the dot or boat lunch. But me and my son cough over 100 of them.
Just got back. Yes. Upstream is NO GOOD. Water level went up slightly so no rushing current. All fish migrated back to open water ready to bed their eggs/nest. The lake is slightly clearer now. I still manage to get 90 white bass.
@Matthew lee not sure what the levels are but said to be one of the worst follow by Clear Lake. But I've been fishing and eating for the past 20 years.
@Matthew lee they do taste better than other local fishes (Striped bass, Crappies etc). If you cook it in soup, it's very delicious, unlike other fishes.

Yes, everyone has their own opinion. Like the old folks always say, "If you don't want any, that means there is plenty for me". These are by far the best eating fishes. I've given them to many people and they cooked it and they said there's no other fish that taste better than these whitebass. I'm heading there this coming Friday on the 19th with my elder brothers. I will try to make another video and upload it.

@thorgarage ......we didn't go all the way back to the river too. We only went to that spot before sunset then went to Las Tablas for night fishing.

Fished 4/7/2023 (Friday) evening till 4/8/2023 (Saturday) around 2pm. No actions at night because the stream is very shallow, probably 5-8 feet.

I am fishing in the rushing areas of Nacimento River. Around the Beasley Flat but pass the Little Burne area.
Worst lake to eat fish from...wouldn't eat from even if free
I have fished and eaten fish from this lake every year for the past 20 years. No side effects, etc. Like I said, just eat fully cooked.
