    What prevents it from rotating? Are the bolts that clamp it in place enough?

      @DJ the install took about a hour. We have clay soil here in Kansas so getting it in the ground was no problem. The quality of the stand is great and I would for sure recommend it.

    Happy to say my install went well while the wooden anvil was in the water for the prescribed 1 hour soak, I assembled the base and put in th pilot hole. I started sledge hammering- the first 10-12 inches went quick- between fatigue and the depth, I was getting an inch deeper every 10 whacks. From there it was fairly easy to level and secure.

    I wish it came with a sturdier tapping block set-up. The little plastic peices that go on the sides of the block broke after just a few whacks. If they weren’t so flimsy and hollow they would work just fine I think. After enough whacks to finally snap our sledgehammer in half (yes it really snapped right in half) we’ve finally got the stake into the ground. Going to continue installation tomorrow, wish us luck 😂
    Edited to add: we completed installation and it looks and works FANTASTIC! So very pleased with this product.

    • @erik5024
      @erik5024 2 роки тому +1

      Ya, the block does get really beat up, but it did its job. It was 105° outside when I installed mine, so I was motivated to get it done asap, and really put some effort into it.

    • @miacrawford4662
      @miacrawford4662 2 роки тому +1

      @@erik5024 the block did great, but the plastic pieces that help anchor the block broke pretty quickly. So then it was either play the game of chase the block every time it falls out or create our own lol. Unfortunately we opted to just pick up the block and stick it back on there after every whack since we had nothing else handy to wedge in there 😂

    Installed easily enough. It's not quite as stable as the plastic base full of sand/water....but it looks better. My hoop has a glass backboard, so its kind of top heavy. I may end up digging out a portion of ground and pouring concrete to set the probase in at some point. Even though that would be a permanent solution, I think it would be more stable.

    • @miacrawford4662
      @miacrawford4662 2 роки тому

    • @erik5024
      @erik5024 2 роки тому +1

      @@miacrawford4662 it's held up just fine. I was concerned it would wiggle its way loose, but its still as stable as day 1. It does sway a bit, as we have a 60" glass backboard mounted to it.
