I know teenagers like to be with teenagers. I was like y’all. I loved going to the farm so I could dig my own peanut, wash and then grand dad Mac would put them in pressure cooker and then let them sweat
We grew up with Ken. He is our Mom's younger brother. So Ken was very important to us from a young age, especially me. Ken and I had all of these adventure on a 100 acre wood in Sumter County, Georgia. Uncle Horace's place. Grandmama, Granddaddy, (Mom, before she married) and Ken Green all lived on the property as well. It was a country dirt road leading to Grandmama's house, and her garden; and on past, the barn, the well, fields, and then Uncle Horace, Aunt Eileen, Grandmother (Great-Grandmama), and Clarice. Ken and I rambled around in the woods, down the road, and all about, and we rode the school bus together.
Can't help but love seeing Uncle Ken. He reminds me of my brother-in-law Bob who I miss dearly. A hard working, old truck driving man, in junk clothes with a heart of gold.
I missed this, it was posted when I had pneumonia, so I just watched it. Uncle Ken is smiling (I can hear his laugh) as usual, driving his blue truck and visiting Robert, good times I am sure. Photos of little Robert cuteness is always fun. His little self on the road and lying in the dirt, I think that child shows in the man here and there.❣️
It would be an honor to call him my uncle I love to hear him laugh I just love to hear him tell the stories of the good old days we all need an uncle like him thanks for the video and I love the music there's too much drama on UA-cam anymore
You're welcome, and thank you! Yes, I am so thankful for my childhood with Ken. We share common memories, which is great! It was my regret that as a child in the 60's that I did not have a tape recorder or camera, or even thought of either, to document our times together. So as an adult I documented Ken, Brian (Down The Road With Brian Mallard), Little George, Johvan Slayton, and myself together on weekends.
Everyone should have an Uncle Ken and a family archivist.. Thank you Walter for these wonderful videos so filled with love for family. Use to sing that song in church many moons ago.. ♫Leaning on the everlasting arms♫
Even though I'm not in the family I enjoy watching these videos. It seems amazing to me to see Robert as a little boy like that. It makes me feel old though.
Makes me wish for times gone by, and gives me hope for the future. I feel like when I was a kid; looking at Time Life or some Walter Cronkite film… Makes me homesick and sad. Makes me happy and full of hope. All at the same time. Someone needs to put y’all on a morning show and give you exposure- because this is exactly what America needs right now.
Walter this was the nicest present l could have gotten on my birthday!! Such beautiful images of Uncle Ken! As others have already said l can hear his laugh and this brings such joy. Thankyou Walter. Great job!
Walter, I don't like, I love your videos. You are very talented in photography and film making. I love how you blend the old with the new. I also love seeing the The Old Byrd farm before photos. Robert has worked so hard. It's exciting to be along for the ride! Thanks!!

@@joschmid1492 Your internet situation sounds just like my sister's situation with Windstream! They are so problematic, and don't communicate well with their customers in Marion County, Georgia. Again, I am so glad you like these videos of Ken. He's the Best.

How long did Ken live at Old Byrd Farm...
Ken and Wendy were guests there for about a month or so back in the 1970's, until they found a house to rent up town in Waverly Hall.

Yes, Ken was doing pretty well. Robert is lying on the ground because he is 5.
