If you've noticed the odd shift from the white background used for kitbashing to the concrete one for painting, it's because I kitbashed this several months ago and then had some analysis paralysis when it came to painting it 😄. You might have even seen it in the background of some of my videos. 🎄 Merry Sanguinala, Everyone! 🎄
Basic Primaris may be plain but they make superb canvases and now they're making more and more Chapter Specific Primaris models so, best of both worlds.
Thank you so much! Honestly Golden Demon is all about perfectionism, I prefer to paint in a more relaxing "Perfection is the enemy of good" manner 😄 The artists that win that competition are definitely on a whole other level artistically.
You are no doubt correct about perfection being the enemy of good. I regularly watch your videos whilst I paint, and it’s a Joy to do! Keep up your amazing work! 👍
I really like that you include your mistakes and pitfalls. If you do not show what can go wrong and how to fix it, then the inexperienced viewer might encounter it himself with maybe noone to help and eventual frustration.
It indeed felt like an essential part of how the paint job came together. Like you mentioned, everyone makes mistakes, best thing to do is learn how to deal with them.
Amazing work, Sigismund would be proud to ride one of those beasts sword in hand.🗡 If i have to make a little observation, i think you could have drilled the exhaust pipes, or at least working more on them by adding some smoke/burnt effect. You put great attention to almost every detail, looks kinda weird a complete closed exhaust (i can see even a mold line), don't u agree? But i think working on that icon has drained almost all of your attention 😅 Anyway this is fantastic, you gave me some insipiration for future kitbashing project.
Sometimes i think black templars are for people who love the Kitbashing part but hate the painting part and just slapchop Hightlight or drybrush some black armor
I saw a badass Doom Scythe made into a Bad Moons Ork Vehicle. Dakka and exaust everywhere, This thing was Yellow Green and Mean with Scrap all over the place. Was one of the best kitbashes Ive seen in awhile.. Would love to see another version done of it. /wink
That sounds amazing, honestly Orks might have the coolest kitbashes, I really need to get some more practice in and make a few 😅 Thanks for the suggestion.
you fell into the classic "putting yellow on black" trap :p. It's kind of annoying doing any yellow OSL on a black surface since just one little mistake makes everything look green. But you saved it, looks sick, like the Emperor himself have blessed the icon/ back banner!
Only one thing that kinda kick me off on the end: The sword looks dull, like, there is no edge. The colors and the paint job are all great, but, it does look like he is wielding a giant blunt lightning sword. Ps: But the model is really great, that was one heck of a kit bash.
Cheers! I can definitely see your point. I did consider adding some edge highlights, but I opted to keep it dark. My thought was that the lighting would be so bright it would overpower any light reflecting on the sword, similar to looking at car headlights in a dim environment.
Yea absolutely, I think if I made the lightning touch all the way into the edges it could have worked well too. This was more the exact moment the power sword was activated and the lightning is crawling up it.
@@AnotherDayMiniatures Then that problem is void haha, as you could use that as the base for display and if you wanna play it you can just have another more neutral base, love your work, its been one of the inspirations I have in starting a space wolf army, im very new to the hobby but gonna try to tackle it headon and see where I end up
Thanks! For this I wanted a heavy tint so I used 1 drop of Grim Black for 2 drops of Flow Aid. When I use it as a just a wash, I go for about 1 Grim Black to 4 Flow Aid.

Thers often blue pigments in black paint. So the blue pigments blend with the yellow, turning it green. End result turned out great though :)
I thought I used enough white ink to cover it up...I was very wrong 😄 Thanks!
Lovely Kitbash! Always great to see some templars
Cheers!
Love the energy
Cheers!
The icon bit was a big "trust the process" moment. I love it when I have no idea just what the hell I'm doing and it ends up exceeding my expectation
😄It did surprise me, one moment I hate it and the next "Wait...I Like it!"
the I've had too much coffee moment made me laugh
😄

Indeed, they are my favorite to kitbash for that exact reason.
Very nice job. Love the homemade wash!
Thanks! Used to avoid acrylic washes entirely, this stuff has been amazing so far.
Simple, but amazing looking!
Thank you! 😃
You really saved this easy to build model from being boring and generic. Great conversion!
Thanks mate!
i now need outriders for my Templars... thank you for showing me what my list was missing
Hell yeah! 😃🤘
UA-cam served this channel up on a platter for me. Love these videos, love the vibe.
Amazing to hear, thank you 😄🤘
This was amazing. Loved that you showed us where you messed up and how you fixed it :)
Thanks! Yeah, I try to include the important parts of the process. Mistakes happen, sometimes I ignore them and sometimes it's worth improving.
@@AnotherDayMiniatures I completely agree! Thanks for sharing what you learned along the process. It makes the video so much more valuable!
Sweet a crazy zealot rider for this Merry Sanguinala. Happy you did this my friend
Cheers mate! Merry Sanguinala 😄
Frankly, you did a great job
Thank you!
Perfect. Love it
Cheers!
Really nice!
Thank you!
I think you should make a model like this and put it into a golden demon. You’d win for sure!

As a Templar player, I want to use a lot of these ideas on my own bikes.
Hell Yeah!

I've actually had a similar thought. Ended up drilling out the back pipes as the lack of holes was beginning to bother me 😄Cheers!
Sometimes i think black templars are for people who love the Kitbashing part but hate the painting part and just slapchop Hightlight or drybrush some black armor
😄 Black does tend to be less exciting to paint than the others. At the same time, it's really cool.
just found your channel love been binge watching the videos
😄🤘 Thanks, glad you're enjoying it.

Gonna have to disagree with the red purity seals but other than that I think it came out great!
Absolutely fair, thanks!

@@AnotherDayMiniatures Oh, now it makes more sense.
Model looks awesome, only complaint i would have is that its a shame the ruin blocks off the model from one angle
Thank you, ye that's absolutely a fair point. On the bright side the base is swapable as I never glued in the peg attaching it to the base :D

Hey. I would love to turn my regular guards into COG boys. Any tips?
That by gold is amazing, what is it you use?
Cheers. It's Vallejo Metal Color Gold + GSW Antique Gold Pigment

It's GSW Ancient Gold Pigment + Vallejo Metal Color Gold.

Vallejo Metal Color Gold + GSW Antique Gold Pigment
Nice work. What’s the mix ratio for the homemade wash?

Vallejo Metal Color Gold + GSW Antique Gold Pigment
@@AnotherDayMiniatures thank you

Green Stuff World Antique Gold Pigment + Vallejo Metal Color Gold. Metal Color is there more as a supporting medium for the pigment.
Non metallic custodians
That sounds great and insanely hard, I definitely need to practice some more NMM for that.
