My 10 year old and I enjoyed watching this video, Nate! He wanted a closeup of the remora, and he really liked the underwater footage. Keep up the great work!
Really cool to see you trying something different always a great day fishing if you catch anything its a bonus thanks for sharing as always stay safe and keep tight lines
Great day of fishin! Your lucky to have some buds to go yak fishin and the area your fishing!! I live in Florida too, but to get any descent water we have to go out really far, inshore is ok but would love to be able to go out to a reef like that and bottom fish! Thanks for sharing!! Oh yeah, the worm thing was interesting to, infact that is why is watched this! Care to say where in florida your at? Thanks again!!!
My family used Catawba worms, and red worms deep sea fishing in the late 60's, early 70's, had some luck with them but didn't fish them that hard it was to easy to catch all the bait needed back then. We only rarely purchased bait, parents were raised in the depression so nothing was purchased if you could make it grow it or catch/kill/trap/hunt it.
Do you think when fishing offshore in a kayak this item would attract the fish? Murk Crew Flashers Standard Rig 20. Might be cool if it brought in the big guys and held them.
When I was young, we would fish off pier in Virginia Beach using blood worms. We used a 2 hook system and had no problem bring home minimum of 100 spots or croakers. The largest catch was 186 fish,(3 people) along with catching crabs too. Have you ever thought of using chicken gizzards for bait?
Where did you launch your kayak? I have surf launch from navarre but was not sure which area is great for surf launch in Mississippi. Also, always love the video and content 👍👍
Been using worms for sheepshead and snapper since the 90's. Start a compost pile and get all the free bait you need. Lol Lot cheaper than shrimp. Put a big ball of worms on and grouper love it.
I have my best success on sheepshead late Oct-February inshore. Around March-April they will start to move to the rigs and reefs just offshore which is the best time to catch them from the boat, but a little harder to do in the kayak. You can still catch them good on the inshore structures till the end of April of though.
@@emeraldtidesoutdoors thanks for the reply. I've been going the last week of March and first week of April and doing pretty good. I'm hoping to get into them pretty soon. Have been wondering when is best in the Fall. Thanks for the info!
I always thought about using freshwater bait in salt but was too stuck in a rut. I'm sure salmon eggs would get hit. Catfish blood dough bait and garlic trout bait could also work. My lucky saltwater lure was a freshwater hellgrammite plastic. Nothing can resist all those wiggly legs. Flip side was the time my brother busted out the heavy salt tackle on the local freshwater reservoir. There had been big boils outside of normal casting range. The local old bank fishermen were laughing at him as he swung the big iron back and fired a cast that went forever. Three cranks back and a huge fish slammed it up into the air but no hook up. All the laughing old guys went silent and they scurried back to their cars for their biggest rods. Nothing much happened after that though.
How can you have so many triggerfish when the forces that be in our ignorant government agencies think there is a shortage of triggerfish? There’s so many of them down there you can’t even get your bait down. Maybe some of the rules and laws should be made by the people that know about the fish.

Very cool Nate. Maybe crickets next time?? 😂
Were the worms staying alive in the salt water?
No, I feel like they died pretty quickly

To boldly go where no earthworm has gone before.....aaaaAAAAAAh, ah-aaah.....
😂
Seriously, I love what you're doing now, and following the suggestions everyone else here has made is only going to deepen that.
👍👍👍👍👍🎣video have good day
🙌 thanks brother!!
Yes, I would like to see more worm action. If they can catch good fish, it's much easier on the wallet.
🙌 🙌
Another great video as always. Hey do the sheephead get fired up in the fall ? Or is it only spring?
Definitely in the fall. They’re the best in the cooler months though.

@@emeraldtidesoutdoors I mainly kayak around bridge pilings.
@@SCOTTA1 What state are you in?
Another awesome video so can i go and catch some earthworms and do the same thing inshore?
Absolutely!!
Wonder if you dropped some catfish stink-bait?
I think it would work
I know you are about 3 miles out, but what depth were you catching those Red Snappers at??
60 feet
You never know unless you try (unless you have a brah thats willing to play guinea pig for you)...thanks and ya! keep it coming.
🙌 🙌
Predicting trigger, small red snapper, b liner, grunt
Dang good predictions!!
Naaaaaaate!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾
🙌 🙌
What about an artifical worm?
I’m sure they’ll work if you could get them down to the bottom with the current.

U not nervous at all in that lil bitty kayak knowing BIG ASS SHARKS are out there?
Sharks?? Nah, ain’t no sharks on those reefs
Hot dog offshore next? LOL
😂 🙌
The footage showed 2 boxes and the fishes were swimming around!!
Would like to see you use fish bites open water
I’ll do it soon!
Call me crazy. I wonder if those worms would work on Stripe Bass in rivers and salt water in bays.
I’m sure they would
I curious what those chests where all about?
Just chicken coops people use for reefs
Vid is cool..I'm just gonna say it..Ain't no way I'm throwing back a 24" snapper..lol
😂 ain’t no fish worth that kind of fine lol
I used worms on saltwater got toadfish and sheepshead
Very nice!!
Drop my worm down there
🤦🏻♂️ 😂
