I'm just getting into his music and I'm 65. It's funny because I'm remembering many of these melodies from my childhood, and they're coming back to me now. His music is truly remarkable and memorable.
A piece of music played very well, brings as much joy to the player as it does to the listener. It is wonderful to share the joy of music. well done, all of you.
A few years ago, I attended a high school performance of Fiddle Faddle performed in San Antonio, TX, by the Plano West Orchestra at the TMEA String Honor Orchestra concert. The performance was incredible, and the reaction from the audience comprised mostly of Texas orchestra teachers was enthusiastic just as with the Novosibirsk orchestra. L. Anderson's music is always well-received and is always a show stopper.
@@RayPointerChannel Wasn't that scored? Audience participation is expected in high-energy novelty pieces of this kind, and are the ultimate audience appreciation. And remember the Woody Allen film when the child-version of his character related having played 'cello in the marching band?

Yes, you have a good memory. This was the theme on the original season (1952) of "I've Got a Secret," hosted by Garry Moore. Original panelists were: Bill Cullen, Henry Morgan, Faye Emerson and Jayne Meadows (Steve Allen's wife). The announcer/sidekick was Durward Kirby, not Johnny Olson . Olson didn't join Goodson-Todman until 1958, but had announced for other, earlier game shows (Break the Bank, Name That Tune).
Has anyone ever heard the Bluegrass version of this composition (Fiddle Faddle)? It was complete with lyrics and vocals. The last line sang in the tune was, "They spent their honeymoon in Arthur Fiedler's....Fiddle Section"The recording was on an RCA 45 RPM record, from the very early 1950's.I'd love to hear that version and possibly have it on file.Thx,DDZZ55
nahhh its not that hard. its stupid fast so it takes practice, but the music itself isnt difficult for most musicians, especially college educated ones
it's not hard at all, we sight read it for a street performance at my youth orchestra. it's fast but only because it's alternating between open strings. if u take out the alternating notes it's just three blind mice lmao
Jacob Wojnar It really does! Anderson was such a clever composer that he could adopt the feel of others' compositions without venturing so far as to commit plagiarism. Listening to his "Irish Suite", I hear what sounds like the influence of Max Steiner and Tchaikovsky at different points.
@insightrev This is a joke, of course. Conducting is not easy. The picture here is a result of a HUGE job before the concert! The normal conductor usually conducts thinking about the rhytm. But many famous conductors are working with orchestra so "impactful", that on the concert the musicians are playing without "rhytm assistance". But conductor shows the musical things such as dynamic, emotional fillings, and phrasing, of course.
love how this audience can actually clap on the beat
Most people can do that. Not really hard!
@@bellasaward8330 you would be surprised
LMFAO
It's far more hip to clap on 2 and 4, not 1 and 3!
People today forget just how incredible LeRoy Anderson's music is.
People in our day don't know that there was a time when people believed in life and culture was alive.
I'm just getting into his music and I'm 65. It's funny because I'm remembering many of these melodies from my childhood, and they're coming back to me now. His music is truly remarkable and memorable.
I mean not really, literally every musician in any orchestra has played at least Fiddle Faddle and Sleigh Ride lmao
I love it when bandmembers and orchestra members break into song: they're always in tune, even if they're no "singers."
At 76 I discovered Leroy Anderson years ago. One of the many musical highlights of my life
A piece of music played very well, brings as much joy to the player as it does to the listener. It is wonderful to share the joy of music. well done, all of you.
Are the positive replies mounting as fast as the Rico het bowing?
Anderson's music remains a wonderful way to entertain an audience. He was a genius.

i love the middle where the men get up and sing it sounds positively divine and mr anderson would approve, i am sure. bob whitaker
I disagree. The vocals and clapping are a distraction and overpower the music. Too intrusive.

Terriffic job!!!!! Love the conductor's energy! Nice job violins, it's not easy and you were flawless!
I can't help but smile every time I hear this tune and this is a really fun version. Thanks for my smiles today.
Браво! Лучше всех!
This former high school violinist wishes he could ever have played even half this well!
LOL! Memories of junior high orchestra class...1

LEROY ANDERSON, COMPOSITOR INCREÍBLE, ADMIRO TODAS SUS COMPOSICIONES, INTERPRETADAS ADEMÁS POR GRANDIOSAS ORQUESTAS
I saw this on tiktok and i fell in love
Never heard it better. AWESOME!!!
Wonderful and delightful it really was, Alex!
... and even more delightful NOW. Plus cheers to a very special family living there!!
Playing this on my Bass in my Chamber Orchestra. Bass solo SO HARD.
Прекрасно!! Виртуально!! Профессионально!! 😊😊👍👍
Can't say how many times I've heard Fiddle-Faddle, but never like this. Too bad Arthur Fiedler never thought of it. LOVE IT
Nagyon jó, egy sikerdarab!
Молодцы!!!
Браво!!!!!
oh gosh... my orchestra (eighth grade) has to play this for concert...
First heard this on those Goodson-Todman shows in the 50's and 60's on CBS TV with the tag line this Johnny Olsen speaking.

Wonderful!
I forgot the name and thought fiddle faddle this is my favorite classic song
Man I love this band! Nice work
It's clearly an orchestra.. Don't degrade them like that
Alex Rivers: Your horse look like a northern giraffe ...
Fabulous! Rarely heard in the America.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
What fun!!
Bravo bravo bravo bravo bravo magnífico bravo
Fabulous music, love Leroy Anderson's music. I really would have preferred it without the clapping though, but good fun.
I completely agree about the clapping. It was still great though.
Very nice! Thank you!
めっちゃ元気出たわ(笑)
someone should make a rap song out of this, the melody is underrated.

2:39 Gotta love that false cadence.
It sounds excellent...
The 1rst violin part could be an audition piece for most symphony orchestras

You are very great! 8)
I’m in our middle schools honor orchestra and we are playing this
Bravo
This is good, I cant understand the 37 dislikes...
No dislikes showed up on my phone.
Very Great Job Guys ;)
AMAZING!
Check out Danny Kaye and the NY Philharmonic. He did the same thing with them humming along. But a full orchestra with brass back in 1981.

1:30 Which movie was it the Woody Allen character claimed to have played 'cello in the marching band?
+Winston Elston Take the Money and Run?
my go to when im down
performed cleanly, at a break-neck pace.
my conductor put his baton down and did a lil dance during this
Is this a parody of Danny Kaye conducting the New York Philharmonic in 1981?
This is a bit on the up-tempo side- enough that it's got serious overtones of Smetena's 'Dance of the Comedians'

Nyan cat sounds a little bit like it. Totally different instruments, obviously, and nyan is very repetitive, but I think there is a similarity.
This song is actually based on 'Three Blind Mice'
This song is what you get when three blind Mice find their way into the coffe-beans
Arthur Boston Pops Fiedler was good this is an even better performance.
hey guys .
can somebody help me to find the scores , not to buy :)
Is this in Ukraine?
Novosibirsk, Siberia, my friend.
@willbrown11 yeah my teacher iz making me play this
we are going to dieee :3
I DONT WANT NONE OF DIS FARRDDLE FIDDLE FISSLE FASSLE
So fast!

hai XD
Fast!
I don't like it at all. Very fast is not the best. And the worst thing is that they sang wow.
conductor looks like that Snowden CIA guy who relocated to Russia.
Looks like he gained a few pounds though.
waht the conductor doing there.????? the musisiance are terific the can play alone
us the doo already xaxaxaxaxaxa
Need brass, trumpets etc. no vocal!!
I for one am not amused by your display of comical antics and must insist upon the established decorum established for orchestral venue.
But they're having so much fun; everyone's so happy and the music sounds so good!
@@tomherman2144 You actually took me seriously?
Wonderful!
