The song you're asking about is Butterfly by BTS. It's one of their earlier songs. I just wanted to highlight that these are extremely old clips and that they're now much much more experienced and overall better. Their voices matured beautifully
Thank you so much for another video. Even though these clips are old, it's always great to watch and hear BTS. It's a bit nostalgic. Plus your commentaries are always so on point and you have such a brilliant sense of humour, that it's always a great pleasure to watch your reactions. Thank you.
Here is a live performance of "Butterfly" and it has the subtitles imbedded. ua-cam.com/video/oGhPOpz3w5s/v-deo.html Side note, this was choreographed by Brian Puspos. He also did the choreo for Jimin's "Serendipity" and he was one of the back up dancers for Jungkook's "Standing Next to You" MV and for his live performances of "Seven" and "3D".
About Butterfly - there are two versions. Neither of them has an MV, but but the main version has a dance practice video. The other version is Butterfly Prologue and it is vocal line only. They performed the prologue version at their last concert: Yet to Come in Busan and it's my favorite performance of that song.
I agree with you about how they are always told to sing in all situations. You can see their professionalism and control even more when it is in someone else's studio like for a radio show or podcast. They are getting all of that sound even when they are all sitting down at makeshift desks. The diaphragms are completely compressed during their interviews; but they correct their postures just enough to ensure that they get the notes out correctly when it is their turn at the microphone.
This performance of Butterfly is my absolute favorite of theirs. To be fair, Butterfly is one of my most favorite BTS songs, but this particular live performance was so bittersweet; just because of the emotional rawness that I know they must have felt (and sweetly conveyed) because they knew this would be their last performance with all of them together. Remember ARMY? Jin's enlistment was announced shortly thereafter. 😢 But Jin's back now, Hobi in a couple of days, June 2025 can't come fast enough! 💜
Oh please please please react to butterfly. It's soooooo beautiful 💜💜💜 the live is absolutely gorgeous. It always makes me feel some kind of way. I get teary eyed because such a beautiful sounding song with great lyrics!. And the dance to go along with it... Sigh..it's amazing
Jimin told RM during part 2 of MiniMoniMusic album exchange that a vocal trainer told him he'd be damaging his voice if he continued to use it as he had up to that point. So he went back to the basics before his enlistment.
@@Sunset553 He said he can't sing their old songs without it being painful, so I'm guessing it's not so much about which part of his register he's using, but more the technique. Maybe Sam can comment after doing a comparison between Jimin's earlier songs and how he uses his voice on Muse.
You would be surprised how little vocal training they had after debut.. Jungkook mentioned that after debut (in 2013) he avoided vocal lessons because he has his own styles and he felt that when he took lessons his sound changed and he didn't want that.
Hi, Michael Pangilinan uploaded a cover of " Through the Fire" by chaka khan featuring Bugoy Drilon and "No Air" by Chris brown featuring Ryssi Avila, I'm sure you'll gonna like since those covers are littered of riffs😁🇵🇭
I don't think it's gonna be in this compilation, there's a clip of Jimin, Jk and Jin singing "Don't leave me" on stage just a bit for like 30 seconds and I find it soooo good, I love it.
Putting in my usual request for you to please react to BTS singing karaoke in Run BTS EP. 153. They don't sing the entire episode, but you can skip to the part where they start singing.
Could you check out a compilation of j-hope vocals. Idk why these acapella vids don’t include him. Most of his vocal clips are acapella. I’d really love to see you react. He’s got a lot of different sounds and I think an analysis would be more interesting.
I think you may enjoy Jimin's most recent release. Yes he and RM have released albums while they are in military service. They worked insanely hard to prep stuff for the wirld prior to being enscripted in December 2023. Jimin said he decided to start over and learn singing from scratch to save his voice and overall improve. He was not given vocal coaching as a trainee as the three others on the vocal line were given. I am sure there is a story there. Anyway, Who and Smeraldo Marching Band from Jimin's Muse album and the two releases off of his first album, FACE, show more of his range. I hope you enjoy this live performance. ua-cam.com/video/sidIL8V83Cc/v-deo.htmlsi=UCQexTHTZlLgdoEj

Did you know if you lower Jungkook’s voice/timbre he sounds like V? So when they sing together like in Butterfly during the Busan concert they sound like one voice. What a coinkydink? Butterfly is a beautiful song.

These clips are so old 😭 theyre teens in some of these (and are now in their late 20s/ early 30s) so while these are still impressive, its nothing compared to what they are capable of now
Jimin's song Alone is the best example I can think of to show the deeper and darker parts of his voice. Otherwise I can only think of small parts here and there in songs.
Most of these clips are when they are so young. Lol The uniform JK is wearing is from the Dope mv. Please watch Butterfly. And then Film Out live. 😘💜🫰🏻🫶🏻

Hi Sam! 👋 😊 I don't know if I've said this to you before but JK, as the main singer for BTS, is ALWAYS singing. It's his passion. Along with filming and editing, boxing, running, archery, painting, etc He truly is a modern Renaissance man! When he bursts into singing,it's not to show off but because he TRULY enjoys it. He has perfect pitch, which YOU know is very rare, even amongst some of the world's most elite vocalists. He does the vocal guides for ALL the vocalists before they record. He works very hard doing more than his share but never complains because he does love it all so much. Yes, you guessed it, JK is my bias. 😆👍 Thanks as ever! 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜 💜
Hi. I’m not here to argue, but an expert vocal coach once corrected me to say JK has relative pitch, not perfect pitch. I don’t know the difference between perfect pitch and relative pitch so Sam can you tell us the difference and which one you believe JK has?
Don't know that it's "more than his share" since a lot of the behind the scenes work he does like the guides seems to be part of the main vocal role (as opposed to say songwriting which other members shoulder much more of), but JK absolutely makes even the guides top notch because he's just... 🌟 I suspect that JK has absolute pitch but perhaps not the music theory training to talk about it - ie I think he knows exactly which frequency any given sound is, but no convenient way to label it.
@@sharonlahaye5803 I know that Charlie puth has said he has perfect pitch, the same way he has. So not sure if your expert is correct or Charlie Puth!
@@marissamcwhiter9381 Yes, Charlie Puth was who I quoted too. I also mentioned the Run BTS episode when JK was able to hear and repeat the notes played. That’s why I want Sam to differentiate between the two “pitches” and give his “second” opinion. I’m just curious.
