Jimin was not a singer when he joined BigHit but a dancer. They had to teach him but due to his timing and the debut time, he could not get very much professional training. So he would record Jungkook and Taehyungs voice lessons and then they would help him. He was so hard on himself to perfect his dancing and singing the development team felt he was not hard on himself but unrealistically harsh. But in the end it paid off and we have our precious Jimin!

Jimin's tone is so unique and his fries, inflections, delievery make it so interesting to listen, they can be so subtle but add so much character, and this is what is valuable in todays music, you can have crazy octaves voice but if it doesn't have smth unique about it, people won't recognise it

Same here. All the Tannies are so talented, so obviously, their solo work would be great. But D-Day and FACE just hit me in my soul. I don't know if it was because they felt so personal, and like they were inviting me to take a peek behind the curtain and experience their thoughts and emotions. IDK if that makes sense, but yeah. I was so excited to see this reaction show up on the TL. I just knew you would appreciate Jimin’s vocals! I love this version of Like Crazy, it’s a fantastic version of an amazing song. I feel like Jimin has worked very hard on his vocals and it shows. He definitely can control his voice and I believe that he uses that control to fully express the emotions of the particular song he is singing. He’s a very emotive singer, but it’s done with control and precision, which is so odd to think about. His dance is the same. And I think that control is hard won, he has worked for it, which I admire. If you compare the different versions of LC you can see what he does with his voice and how he changes it to enhance the message and music of not just the song but the intent of the specific performance (in the interview, he said he studied the types of music on this interview show and he made an arrangement of LC just for this show), but also compare his body of work, it’s all very different, but his voice works equally well in all of them - Letter, Set me free pt 2, Face-off, Alone, Lie, Serendipity, Promise, Vibe, With You, Christmas Love, and others - I think that is deliberate. If you listen carefully to BTS group music, he’s also very good at blending with the other members in spite of their different voices, Jimin does a lot of the harmonies and adlibs that are more blended (JK and V typically do the ones that are intended to stand out), but he can also take the smallest bit and make it iconic just by how he does it - there’s so many examples - Hold Me Tight, Am I Wrong, BST, Fire, Run BTS (not to be confused with Run by BTS, or Run BTS the variety show 😂), Take Two , etc. - and not just the BTS songs, but his collabs - look at Vibe - what part do I remember the most, it was that one Jimin part. Jimin was an amazing singer already on debut, hence why he debuted as lead singer. But it took him a while to get where he wanted his voice and sound to be. In one of his old Vlives, he confessed some of these frustrations. But he did it (and is still evolving) so you are right, his singing is like a buffet, full of distinct flavours. It's the reason why his voice is never boring and why I always look forward to hearing him sing. I've listen to Like Crazy every day now for almost a year, and I don't seem to tire of it. Simply a magical voice! 😊

*Please* go into the rap line! They've always sang a bit - especially Hobi - but in their solo stuff they really kicked it up in the last few years. SUGA especially made an effort to do more singing with D-Day and his concert performances. We got acoustic "Seesaw", a full-on bouncy R&B "love" song "SDL", mellow vibes of "People Pt. 2 with IU", and of course the epic piano performances of his version of "Life Goes On" every night! Speaking of IU, he was also a guest on her UA-cam show "Palette" where he sang live with her! Hobi also went on "Palette". RM also does a lot of very mellow, vibey singing on tracks like "Seoul" and "Moonchild" and even a little bit on "Take Two". Please don't pass them up just because they're not usually full-on singing in BTS tracks! 💜They are so influential to BTS's sound and story. Also I would love to hear your take on some of the cool vocal sounds they're able to make - especially SUGA, who throughout BTS' discography and his own, uses his voice and breath in a lot of cool instrumental ways. Oof - I typed a lot! Please consider yourself politely bullied, haha! Back to Jimin - he has such a beautiful, ethereal voice. It sucked to watch him feel so bad about his vocal abilities when he was younger, but he's really matured and grown into it and leaned into the sound, and he's one of the (many) things that makes BTS's sound unique. I loved "Like Crazy" because I'm a huge fan of that 80's synth music sound and this song took me riiiight back to that. It's one of my favorite solos from any of them so far. The acoustic version is such a different vibe from the original, but no less beautiful. The song itself is about Jimin using alcohol and partying a bit as escapism during the pandemic, not wanting to face himself and his darker emotions. I think the "good ride" he's asking for is from the alcohol and the atmosphere, and him begging, "this is gonna break me, don't try to save me, I need a way we can dream on..." is him not wanting to come back to reality. He talked about it a bit on Suchwita with SUGA. Lol, good ol' BTS giving us sexy-sounding songs that aren't really about sexy things. He also did a beautiful acoustic performance of his song "Letter" for ARMY, which you can find on the BangtanTV channel. Very similar vibes to this one.

Jimin was an amazing singer already on debut, hence why he debuted as lead singer. But it took him a while to get where he wanted his voice and sound to be. In one of his old Vlives, he confessed some of these frustrations. But he did it (and is still evolving) so you are right, his singing is like a buffet, full of distinct flavours. It's the reason why his voice is never boring and why I always look forward to hearing him sing. I've listen to Like Crazy every day now for almost a year, and I don't seem to tire of it. Simply a magical voice! 😊

*Please* go into the rap line! They've always sang a bit - especially Hobi - but in their solo stuff they really kicked it up in the last few years. SUGA especially made an effort to do more singing with D-Day and his concert performances. We got acoustic "Seesaw", a full-on bouncy R&B "love" song "SDL", mellow vibes of "People Pt. 2 with IU", and of course the epic piano performances of his version of "Life Goes On" every night! Speaking of IU, he was also a guest on her UA-cam show "Palette" where he sang live with her! Hobi also went on "Palette". RM also does a lot of very mellow, vibey singing on tracks like "Seoul" and "Moonchild" and even a little bit on "Take Two". Please don't pass them up just because they're not usually full-on singing in BTS tracks! 💜They are so influential to BTS's sound and story. Also I would love to hear your take on some of the cool vocal sounds they're able to make - especially SUGA, who throughout BTS' discography and his own, uses his voice and breath in a lot of cool instrumental ways. Oof - I typed a lot! Please consider yourself politely bullied, haha!
Back to Jimin - he has such a beautiful, ethereal voice. It sucked to watch him feel so bad about his vocal abilities when he was younger, but he's really matured and grown into it and leaned into the sound, and he's one of the (many) things that makes BTS's sound unique. I loved "Like Crazy" because I'm a huge fan of that 80's synth music sound and this song took me riiiight back to that. It's one of my favorite solos from any of them so far. The acoustic version is such a different vibe from the original, but no less beautiful. The song itself is about Jimin using alcohol and partying a bit as escapism during the pandemic, not wanting to face himself and his darker emotions. I think the "good ride" he's asking for is from the alcohol and the atmosphere, and him begging, "this is gonna break me, don't try to save me, I need a way we can dream on..." is him not wanting to come back to reality. He talked about it a bit on Suchwita with SUGA. Lol, good ol' BTS giving us sexy-sounding songs that aren't really about sexy things.
He also did a beautiful acoustic performance of his song "Letter" for ARMY, which you can find on the BangtanTV channel. Very similar vibes to this one.
