Hi, That's cool! have you seen any growth on yours after a month of planting? mine is slowly growing, it started giving little figs but i removed them since I want it to focus on growing more foliage this year . I will for sure do an update video..
@@theblossomingbloom yes, mine is also growing slowly. But it’s the variety. It is a patio fig. I’m really hoping to see figs this year. I brought one in a 3 gallon size pot, it’s a nice size.
Hi, I will follow you as I have a fig tree as well. I have a question if you are willing to answer? My situation is that I bought a fig tree online, but it's small. The fig tree is more like the size of your hand. now, could you please tell me how tall was your fig tree? I need to plant the fig in a pot and wait until it reaches the size of your tree, then I can move it into the ground. oh, more question. is the root deep in the soil before you transplant it? how do you water it? daily or weekly? morning, or morning and night? Do you also add more nutrition after your transplant to the ground? I'm in zone 6, did a lot of research online, but I can't find the information I need. thanks for your time
Hi Wei, my tree was about 21 inches tall when I transplanted it. If yours is that small I would keep it in a pot, just make sure the pot has draining holes. The roots on my fig tree were shallow and not so deep in it's pot. When it comes to watering, it all depends on my weather, since mine is outside and right now is so hot I water about once a week and skip watering on rainy days. I water in the mornings. Don't water your fig every day, they don't like to have their roots constantly submerged in water. Just keep the soil moist not dry. And I haven't give it any heavy fertilizer, just added some worm castings a few days ago for the first time. Do you have your tree inside or outside?
@@theblossomingbloom thanks. I planted the fig tree in the pot, but I'm considering moving it inside this year. I will transplant it outside next year. I think the nutrition fash out quick in the soil when I water it day and night. Therefore I'm watering it on the daytime once only(before 8am). what's the temperature around your place? I'm about 25C-30C in the daytime and 15-20C in the nighttime. I'm not sure if I should stop watering daily. I have heavy wind daily, and the soil will dry, more like 1-2 inches at the end of the day.
@@weitang1196 My weather is around 32c and very humid. If you bring it inside make sure you have it by a sunny window or place it under a grow light because they like a lot of sun. You can add some compost on top of the soil to add some nutrients to it. Have you notice any changes on the plant, like yellowing, brown, or leaves falling out since you got it?
@@theblossomingbloom yes, it was yellowish when I got it in the package. The fig tree had 3 leaves, but falling out after I plant it in the pot. There's the so-called "shock" due to transit, but it's ok. The problem is pale green leaves. I used coffee ground(need to be decomposed before use), egg shells(crushed and dried), and a little Epsom salt(you may want to use original, I used lavender scents, which may help with repelling bugs away) I also add 3 Miracle-Gro Indoor Plant Food Spikes for slow release nutrition. I see green, the real green leaves after a week or two. I don't know what helps leaves since I added these nutrients. I saw you added compost on top of the fig tree, do you experience any pale green leaves as well? I do want to know the best method for growing leaves. I'm not expecting any fruits this year anyway(my fig tree is small) I heard that most fig trees can grow 2-3 feet each year, this is where I try to focus, to grow up. I also notice that the fig tree is a "slow to grow tree", is your fig tree growing up slowly? I'm sorry for all of these questions. again, I did my research online, but I can only get two small fig trees about two months ago, therefore nothing really helps online. thanks again
@@weitang1196 yes, my tree is growing slowly too, and it did drop a few leaves after transplant but its doing better now. It tried to grow little figs but I got rid of them since I want it to focus in growing. A deficiency in Nitrogen can cause pale green leaves.
I also have a Little Miss Figgy which is a dwarf version of the Violet de Bordeaux. Both have sweet berry candy like flavors.
I love my fig tree 🤗 it's a great tree for small spaces.
Hope the fig do well.
Thanks, the fig is doing awesome 😁
Nice. I brought a “ Little miss figgy” fig tree a month ago. I’m very happy with it so far . I hope to see updates on your little miss figgy tree . ☺️

@@theblossomingbloom also, I think figs take off when it’s hot outside.
@@Betty-qd8st yes they thrive in the heat

Hi, my little Miss Figgy is doing awesome. I have harvested some yummy figs,
Moraš zaliti biljku prije presađivanja.Tada zemlja ostane kompaktna.
Hi Ivan !!!! yes, I completely forgot to water it before transplanting, that's why the soil came apart when I got it out of the pot ☺
I just got one! will a 14 inch pot be a permanent home for missy fig tree?
I would give her a 20 inch pot
I put one in a 16 inch then
The other in a 22 inch and my last one I got from a nursery in
The ground
Just potted one a few weeks ago and the leaves are drooping any idea what is going wrong ?😊
Does the pot have drainage holes? How often are you watering ?
I just bought one of those too. So are you married? Beautiful scenery and your garden too!
Thanks, Yes I am married.
