Suggestion put a plastic bin liner in the tray to make cleaning up easier. If you use it opened up you can then cut off a corner to put the old oil in the empty new oil jugs for taking up the recycling tip.
A good tip for next time :) We did have the cleanout that box a fair bit, but luckily our local recycling center took the oil otherwise we were struggling to find out where to get rid of it!
Thank you for this video!! I have bought a VW Crafter 2007, I m converting it myself and hate not knowing how to do basic stuff like replace the oil!! Now I do ;)
Legends. Looked under my van today and saw oil 🥴. Traced it back and found it was that what your taking off. It needs the top plastic seal that you said you never got. Make sure you change them at some point just to be on the safe 👍
Ah that's good to know - we might also buy a spare plastic cap since the plastic is already a eating down as we undo it more than once but thanks for the tip 👍
@@FreedomStrider no worries your whole series has been very valuable to us as we do up our 2014 crafter! Keep up the good work. Good job on the recent decking too!
Guess the filter only fits one way. At least on my car it looks slightly different on the inside. Just attached the way the old one was. Not sure if that makes a difference anyway
Despite being "europarts" yes, seems like it's just UK registrations unless you change the sites language (France, Germany or Ireland) - although you can manually put in your car/van's make and model and it will spit it out :)
just a small remark, all that paper with oil stains should be treated just like the oil itself... don't just bin it but bring it to a nearby waste processing / recycling facility

So glad that we could help 😀 We are exactly the same, we have to know how to fix our own stuff.
Your videos are literally perfect!
Glad you like them!
Always a full watch from me! THanks for sharing!

Great video
Thanks! 🙂
Great video . Very clear and concise thAnks guys. Looks easy so I’ll do it this weekend. The local guy quoted me $311 NZ.
150 to do myself 👍🚎🚌🚐
Half price and the knowledge you know it has been done right, there is no better feeling :)
The oil drain plug should have a magnet in it to check for metal particles. Or you can just run a magnet through the tray.
Good idea, we'll do that next time :) Our oil looked very good, always best to be safe

Don't go to screw fix for tools go halfords might be a little more expensive but life time warranty
We luckily have a fair few tools, but best to buy 1 set to last you a long time rather than buy a cheap set every time indeed!
...put in your number plate to find the oil type... UK only?

30yrs of messing with engines what a stupid place lol, its maybe easier from underneath?
Nope, it was covered from underneath 🙂
What an embarrassment of an engine layout--VW should be ashamed
Indeed!
