I have heard this song before. I heard it when I had a near death experience when I was only 16 years old. I found myself in a beautiful bright golden-white infinity and the sound "Hu" was flowing with and without me along with the waves of golden and white light. I felt that I was connected to a universal knowledge of ALL.
can't we just all get along?? There are many religions for all kinds of people. we all are attracted to the religion we are most aware of, how we can best serve God and all of man kind. I was a catholic for many years, my awareness took me in another direction to sing the Hu and gain lots of wisdom, love, compassion, etc. if your religion can teach you how to love, then it's a good one for you.
You see, Hu is almost like a dictionary, a conscious dictionary; it helps you to better understand the world, and your life. HU is love, energy and very importantly protection, I cannot tell you enough how many things I have averted in my daily life.

Been doing H>U> for 40 years. Always been positive, never once not, thousands of ways, sense of peace, freedom, lower stress, added insight, change of problem or solution, creative opening, certainty, positive feeling, so much more, not seen any harm. Yet Hu is not done to direct, cause, or force. Lovely, it is a love song and it does seem to require a bit of heart or trust (and just to those who would be our brothers keepers....world history has been based on such negations. Try a "Pure HU".

It is a great mantra that uplifts anyone--no matter who, what, or where they are spiritually. LET ALL THE BOGUS stuff go and just BE. WHO cares about the rest? Ok I never comment but u do realize KDD that this sound from eckankar an organization that has been around since the late 60's and the actually sound was recorded live at a seminar were a large group of people were singing it. One other thing: the name for God/love song "HU" is for all Souls. Yes, it's easy to lambast and find ECKists here (hi all! :) ) but it is not our personal property, so to speak. it is for any and all who enjoy singing it. It is our favourite, hmm. Hymnal/cant/mantra/chant would I suppose come closest to explaining it. So please keep in mind that we're just here for good music, not theological debates w/your mind going in circles, dear cola.
I went to an ECKANKAR meeting once. They were telling how much deeper their teachings are than other religions, including metaphysical religions. Their theme for that day was love. I did not hear anyone say anything about love that sounded any deeper that what have heard from other religions, so I dismissed them as just another pretentious group claiming "we have truths higher than anyone else". But I do think the "HU" chant is very powerful.
There is nothing like HU.It is the most higher name of God that can take you and anyone from anger. It is only someone who is angry, that can say something bad about someone or his belief. When you are angry, and you are saying bad thing about someone or his belief, you are not loving God. God is kind, merciful, unconditional love and every good things not anger or hate, so I kindly ask you who talk bad about Eckankar to sing HU. Re "wtf" HU is an ancient and sacred name for God. It's a love song, a pure prayer to God that has been sung around the world for eons and can be sung by people in any religion. The best way to know it is to sing it silently or aloud for 5-10 minutes and then sit quietly for a few more. You may feel uplifted, may see a divine light (often blue), and may hear different sounds. No one can tell you what it will do for you, only what it has done for them.

@bearnurse1 Surely by now, looking back, you do know the love that was there. It's hard not to "sound" hypocritical for a person who is sincere and happy in these days of so much darkness. Finding the truth can be daunting when people think they need a "miracle" as proof. Count your blessings and the smallest of miracles will reveal itself. It's gratitude that magnifies goodness.

When I sing or chant this healing sound I can feel a flow of energy in my body, an expanded awareness, and if anything is stressing me out almost instant relief. It changes consciousness.. thanks for sharing it with others...
zukodam-just try if for about 6 weeks. Do it for about 20 mins each day and see what happens. You should see the blue light of the master come to you quietly and gently as your human consciousness is slowly aroused from slumber. I thought it was an awful name for God and a bloody stupid spiritual exercise-I was very very wrong!!!
Soul (us) and SUGMAD (God) are basically of same nature. The difference between god and us is only consciousness. Thats why we are sent to the lower worlds... to get experience... to get God consciosness... but first we need Soul Consciousness or Self-Realization. The easy way is to just start with holy spirt, that is, divine ECK (Light and Sound of God), HU is a good start on this journey.
Your right I just tried it, at first I tried a higher tone like the video but then tried a lower tone and that left my whole body vibrating as if I was going to leave my body. I'd love to join a sing in that would be something to experience. Were do you find out about those?

Hu is one of the names of Allah in Islam used as a meditation device for Sufi Muslims. Literally translated it means 'he' in essence: He Who Is. I am not a Muslim nor am I an Eckist. I don't believe 'God' exists, but it's still interesting.

You dodged a question there. I don't know how those experiences work or what they are, and I don't think anyone in Eckankar should be explaining your personal experiences. You're supposed to do it yourself. So again, were you able to verify that you were outside of your body's limitations - like for example, you were in meditation and got information about something far beyond the reach of your body, and then it happened to be correct when you checked?
Actually, the meditations are supposed to expand your cerebral cortex. And Eckankar is super direct on doing that, maybe because....from my experience, Eckankar VS any other spiritual path is more like "YOU DO IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF," instead of "I'll tell you about how I see the world" like most gurus do. While it is nice to listen to some gurus talk about spirituality, after being in Eckankar for quite a while, listening to them seems like I'm in Spirituality 101. lol
OK. So don't join Eckankar and stop crying about the measly $150 donation. They offer much more than other organizations that want more money but have much less to give in return. Actually, you don't have to pay a cent to chant HU and get its benefits. If you want the discourses and membership, you pay like you'd pay for anything else in this world. Well i think that everything in the universe is energy, and that our brains can emit good/bad energy with consiquence every time we have a good/bad thought. As i remember there was a video explaining what e=mc2 (cant do little 2 lol) which basicaly means that everything in the universe is energy. Yes it may be psychology but it is energy, a frequency which is good for us indee. I may be young and i may not have as much knowledge as you but i do feel the effects of what this and things like the 528 Hz fequency. Try letting you mind accept it for 5 mins, relax and listen. Hold you hands and cross your legs or do what ever makes you feel most confortable. 2 most important things are that you relax and that you close your eyes (i think lol) Try it.
So, maybe you should drop Eckankar for a while and just do the HU meditation twice a day, if the outer organization of Eckankar bothers you so much. You shouldn't stress over this. You're probably a 2nd initiate at least. So you have nothing to stress over as far as Eckankar is concerned. You can abandon the teachings if thats what you want to do.
Sure. They're functions of the brain. But then if you had EVERY experience like you've said, you also had been taken miles away from your body and was able to verify this, correct? Psychologists and science sort of stops there and says we're all delusional. Then they want you to prove it or repeat the experience and you know how that always goes.
I kind of understand your situation. I joined AFTER reading all that stuff about it being a scam. You're sort of in reverse, joined AND THEN got hit with the truthers. So out of curiosity, did it help you get better at getting out of body and did you get hooked up to the sound current? Did you get help from some of the masters?

Eckanakar never asks for money. Where do you get your information? If the HU affects you adversely, then you might want to take another look at the path you are traveling. Your negativity is being effected by the positive love from the song. I am always aware of what's going on around me while singing the HU. I am uplifted, not light headed. Ok I never comment but u do realize KDD that this sound from eckankar an organization that has been around since the late 60's and the actually sound was recorded live at a seminar were a large group of people were singing it. This sound can be found in many things if you listen closely you will hear it quite often! May the Blessing be!
One other thing: the name for God/love song "HU" is for all Souls. Yes, it's easy to lambast and find ECKists here (hi all! :) ) but it is not our personal property, so to speak. it is for any and all who enjoy singing it. It is our favourite, hmm. Hymnal/cant/mantra/chant would I suppose come closest to explaining it. So please keep in mind that we're just here for good music, not theological debates w/your mind going in circles, dear cola.

I went to an ECKANKAR meeting once. They were telling how much deeper their teachings are than other religions, including metaphysical religions. Their theme for that day was love. I did not hear anyone say anything about love that sounded any deeper that what have heard from other religions, so I dismissed them as just another pretentious group claiming "we have truths higher than anyone else". But I do think the "HU" chant is very powerful.

Re "wtf" HU is an ancient and sacred name for God. It's a love song, a pure prayer to God that has been sung around the world for eons and can be sung by people in any religion. The best way to know it is to sing it silently or aloud for 5-10 minutes and then sit quietly for a few more. You may feel uplifted, may see a divine light (often blue), and may hear different sounds. No one can tell you what it will do for you, only what it has done for them.

@bearnurse1 Surely by now, looking back, you do know the love that was there. It's hard not to "sound" hypocritical for a person who is sincere and happy in these days of so much darkness. Finding the truth can be daunting when people think they need a "miracle" as proof. Count your blessings and the smallest of miracles will reveal itself. It's gratitude that magnifies goodness.

When I sing or chant this healing sound I can feel a flow of energy in my body, an expanded awareness, and if anything is stressing me out almost instant relief. It changes consciousness.. thanks for sharing it with others...

zukodam-just try if for about 6 weeks. Do it for about 20 mins each day and see what happens. You should see the blue light of the master come to you quietly and gently as your human consciousness is slowly aroused from slumber. I thought it was an awful name for God and a bloody stupid spiritual exercise-I was very very wrong!!!
Soul (us) and SUGMAD (God) are basically of same nature. The difference between god and us is only consciousness. Thats why we are sent to the lower worlds... to get experience... to get God consciosness... but first we need Soul Consciousness or Self-Realization. The easy way is to just start with holy spirt, that is, divine ECK (Light and Sound of God), HU is a good start on this journey.

Hu is one of the names of Allah in Islam used as a meditation device for Sufi Muslims. Literally translated it means 'he' in essence: He Who Is. I am not a Muslim nor am I an Eckist. I don't believe 'God' exists, but it's still interesting.
Hu is the most ancient mantra used by the human race to contact the divine. Simple put it is the sound of all sounds within the many spiritual dimensions of god. It is in essence the pure experession of god itself. And it is this sound that soul uses to connect directly to spirit on it journey back home. All souls no matter what spiritual path they may follow in this lifetime are connect to this sound. For in the end we are all apart of divine love.

Nothing can be proven, except by our own experience in our own existence. "Factual" proof changes all the time. Some get their truth by fearfully refuting the beliefs of others rather than spending their time working on themselves. Whatever you choose to call it, life is undoubtedly here and we are living it. I don't know how those experiences work or what they are, and I don't think anyone in Eckankar should be explaining your personal experiences. You're supposed to do it yourself.
So again, were you able to verify that you were outside of your body's limitations - like for example, you were in meditation and got information about something far beyond the reach of your body, and then it happened to be correct when you checked?
Actually, the meditations are supposed to expand your cerebral cortex. And Eckankar is super direct on doing that, maybe because....from my experience, Eckankar VS any other spiritual path is more like "YOU DO IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF," instead of "I'll tell you about how I see the world" like most gurus do.
While it is nice to listen to some gurus talk about spirituality, after being in Eckankar for quite a while, listening to them seems like I'm in Spirituality 101. lol
OK. So don't join Eckankar and stop crying about the measly $150 donation. They offer much more than other organizations that want more money but have much less to give in return.

Well i think that everything in the universe is energy, and that our brains can emit good/bad energy with consiquence every time we have a good/bad thought. As i remember there was a video explaining what e=mc2 (cant do little 2 lol) which basicaly means that everything in the universe is energy. And the frequency part, well lol i cant remember who figured out that all energy has a frequency. Who is this Eckankar you speak of? Do you think im delusional? How so?
Yes it may be psychology but it is energy, a frequency which is good for us indee. I may be young and i may not have as much knowledge as you but i do feel the effects of what this and things like the 528 Hz fequency. Try letting you mind accept it for 5 mins, relax and listen. Hold you hands and cross your legs or do what ever makes you feel most confortable. 2 most important things are that you relax and that you close your eyes (i think lol) Try it.
So, maybe you should drop Eckankar for a while and just do the HU meditation twice a day, if the outer organization of Eckankar bothers you so much. You shouldn't stress over this.
You're probably a 2nd initiate at least. So you have nothing to stress over as far as Eckankar is concerned. You can abandon the teachings if thats what you want to do.
Sure. They're functions of the brain. But then if you had EVERY experience like you've said, you also had been taken miles away from your body and was able to verify this, correct? Psychologists and science sort of stops there and says we're all delusional. Then they want you to prove it or repeat the experience and you know how that always goes.
I kind of understand your situation. I joined AFTER reading all that stuff about it being a scam. You're sort of in reverse, joined AND THEN got hit with the truthers.
So out of curiosity, did it help you get better at getting out of body and did you get hooked up to the sound current? Did you get help from some of the masters?
this is a very powerful HU. Must be from the temple. Only been to inner temples so far. Chant HU to visit inner temples! Or fly beyond the stars, or what have you! What you love is what you love, and a part of your heaven. Though that can grow and grow and grow!

Eckanakar never asks for money. Where do you get your information? If the HU affects you adversely, then you might want to take another look at the path you are traveling. Your negativity is being effected by the positive love from the song. I am always aware of what's going on around me while singing the HU. I am uplifted, not light headed. Eckanakar is all about love. How can love be a sham?

B4 any religion was invented by humans,,,Hu was in existence & still is in existence..in the sound of the wind, in the sounds of NATURE. Religion took it from nature in appropriations as its own.
The sound in the video appears to be in B-flat. 528 hz corresponds to C, so the video sound is unlikely to be in 528 hz. However, it would be very close to 528 hz owing to the semitone difference between C and B-flat.

I agree entirely. What is the reason for profanity? The internet is full of people cursing at one another because there is no attempt to achieve mutual understanding. Is it impossible to have another opinion of eckankar, or is the act of disagreeing and making true statements wrong merely because they threaten one's beliefs? Is there really a perfect teaching and perfect leaders so that they are above scrutiny and responsibility for their actions? I don't think so.

If you feel strongly that eckankar is a cult then that is your opinion. You are entitled to it. We all have our rightful place in life. we all find our strengths and work to that for the best in life. Many people come to eckankar because it works for them. Its not always about reading books and preaching, its about experiencing and demonstrating. I think what matters is we work to be better people no matter one's belief.

While all mythology is based in fact, truths get lost in the mix. We can only hope to use it as guides to lead us to better behavior. The message, not the messenger. :)

I have who follow Eck. They are great folks. They don't proselytize or evangelize. They aren't anything at like the children of Rev. Moon or the culstists of Hare Krishna. As intelligent as you are, just accept that their path is right for them, and you have a different direction to walk in.
At the end of it all, it is NOT our (collectively) responsibility to convert...or RE-vert...anyone's belief system. To have a differing belief is fine. It's to be expected.
