Yeah, I've been having the same experience here. I still avoid the events with guys, defend this, follow the spirit, but shrines and chests I'm clicking them all. It's easily an extra level when you're below 90.
You can watch the exp bar increase rather quickly during a cursed chest or shrine event. I LOVE them, and they're a good reason to clear a dungeon instead of speed run.
Also if you run NM 46+ you get 925 gear no matter what level you are. I did this for the gear from level 75 anyway but that's good to know I was already doing most efficient.

The quest to open the Pit is to complete a Tier 46 ND. I've been doing helltides as you want that season rep anyway, and you get Whispers at the same time for extra xp. Then once I hit rep cap, I do ND for Glyph xp till lvl 15. I'll try keeping up the ND to finish lvling next time, extra Glyph lvls!
This entire season, I was leveling so fast that I instead focused on Glyph EXP. Even blasting high tiers going for glphy exp, I barely got all glyphs to 21 just after reaching level 100.
yeah, I think the real purpose for NMD is powerleveling Glyphs to 15/21 anyway. Maximizing leveling speed doesn't seem to matter that much when Glyph is the limiting step, as far as NMD goes. If you end up needing to do extra NMDs after maxing out anyway instead of doing other activities that may provide better yield such as loot or Pit for MW materials.

I would love to see the mechanic changed, get rid of paragon boards altogether and make levels more beefy in what you gain on stats. The boards end up as make-work for something to do. If levels gave you the stats, along with gear, the boards would be unnecessary.
Meanwhile, I ran NMD 70 on my lvl 80 Dust Bowl Twister Barb... To me I just wanted to upgrade my glyphs ASAP, so I ran the highest NMD I could survive with my build. The added XP was just a bonus. Had to use the Holy elixir though to survive it;) lmao

If you can, shouldnt you do higher lvl 100 for better loot and glyph experience? Seems like glyph experience still scales higher even if monster experience doesnt...
If your build can handle running higher tier NMDs at the same speed, you absolutely should run them. The rules discussed in this video apply to character leveling and XP.
Raxx you are the man, thank you again for quality info, I didnt know the whole -44 level stuff, always wondered what level monsters would be in the dungeons.
Why do we have to minus 44 from our level? Seems like an unnecessary complication on blizzards side. If someone could explain it would be much appreciated 👍
Sort of. As long as the monster level is 95 or above, it is guaranteed 925 gear. Beyond that, it is all RNG. So basically, using his strategy, you should be getting ALL 925 gear starting at level 85. If you use the Profane Mindcage potion in helltide, you can start getting 925 gear at level 82. Best of luck in the gear hunt!
I don't totally agree. You should run the highest you can that doesn't slow you down. I was running 80's - 90's keys because the glyph xp was outstanding. LVL 46 glyph xp sucks. I was using a s tier build though so I could clear it just as quick. This is the first season I have had all my glyphs that I use to 21 long before hitting 100, because I didn't follow this "rule."
Does anybody know: would there be similar math for leveling glyphs? That's my focus right now with NMD, and I've been doing 45+ levels above me. I could get through them faster at a lower level.
I leveled a chain lightning sorc and felt like 100 was faster than my now level 100 necro. Now i know it was probably because the sorc could only do around NMD 46 and the necro was speed leveling glyphs at NMD 100 :D
This is focused on experience and leveling but I think the sooner you can do mlvl 100 the sooner you can get guaranteed 925 gear. Feels like another wrinkle to the “if your build sucks” bucket.
Is there a way to stay on the same level nightmare dungeon? When I complete one it gives me a sigil for the next higher level. What if I want to stay on one particular level? For instance… I’ve cleared level 90 nightmare and want to farm 925 gear to min/max my gear. If I do a level 90 nightmare I get a level 91 sigil. I want to stay at lvl 90.
I am a casual player. I just hit 100 on my Necro this week. I am having so much fun this season that I am playing everyday again. I do exactly what you mention in your videos. I can ALWAYS find the events and do them now that they are so concentrated with monsters. They generally have a timer of 1 minute for each event. This includes cursed chests, shrines and Health Pots. They can all be cursed and I have found as many as 3 cursed events in a NM. Thank you for all you do.
Rax I'm still waiting for u to answer me about Dust devil double swing build, on the planner in the skill tree there is concussion at 10rank but is not link, why?why I have to upgrade my gear for concussion when is not link?I don't understand something. You recommend this build so please explain. I'm new to D4 so maybe I don't understand
My issues have been what's the optimal way to transition from leveling to endgame build around level 50. For context I was using the Barb double swing leveling build, and want to try the bash build. It is a slog when you don't have the unique aspect and try to rotate ND. Any thoughts? Should I stick with the leveling build until WT4?
If your build sucks for running NMDs, I think leveling up with the Helltide boss (with other players for the XP bonus) is the way to go, and you get a good amount of loot along the way so you can get your aspects. Then transition to running NMDs.

Are there any XP breaks like this for glyphs?
Does this apply to glyph do too? From what I’ve seen glyphs gain more at higher levels
Whats the longest Berserk duration people have gotten?
Hi. Is Lvl 100 max pit in Nightmare dungeon.
How does this effect glyph xp? Is it worth it to run higher dungen because we get more glyph xp?
Love the Diablolytics type Videos
Does anybody know: would there be similar math for leveling glyphs? That's my focus right now with NMD, and I've been doing 45+ levels above me. I could get through them faster at a lower level.
I leveled a chain lightning sorc and felt like 100 was faster than my now level 100 necro. Now i know it was probably because the sorc could only do around NMD 46 and the necro was speed leveling glyphs at NMD 100 :D
Yup. My necro could clear level 100 at like 86. My sorc is struggling on level 80 monsters at level 63
Do 3 greater affixes drop on nm dungeon 46?
Love the paint videos, maybe think about buying a drawing pad with a pecil or something, you might enjoy it
Where is the google doc for the tierlist ?
This is focused on experience and leveling but I think the sooner you can do mlvl 100 the sooner you can get guaranteed 925 gear. Feels like another wrinkle to the “if your build sucks” bucket.
At 100 i cant see.any point doing these ? I have more.than enough mats to.open many pits .
But why does it change at level 91?
Because experience is capped at 100 and there is no benefit to running 10+ levels higher.
That helps, thank you.
What about glyph xp?
Thanks a lot raxx for the tips & guides :)
One noob question though, what about Glyph XP? what is the optimal NMD to level them up fast to 21?
thanks i needed this video for my druid
I was just looking at your barb speed run few hours ago and was wondering which NMD are the yuckiest so I can avoid them
Im about as casual as you can get and im having no issues finding the events.
I think they need to change how and or where you get glyph exp!!!
Bless you Raxx!
