Stochastic randomization is honestly the future. Generative music has been using it for a long time, but this new way of using randomness less for the sake of randomness, and more for the sake of quantity is really cool.
@@PH-lk9lc Hey, at least our purpose will remain in the form of feeding the AI! (And to have fun making music that at least some people will check out cause it was made by an actual dude having fun, of course) I love both the process and the ability to make music tuned to my tastes and I'm in it purely for that, so I'm just excited to see what AI can do in the process. Imagine you can tell it to get rid of all the dissonances within specified margins (Allowed if approximating a consonance closely enough in cents or if the freq is high enough to be atonal), but only on the long release tails of a chord that overlaps onto the next. Doing that manually is just a nightmare, but if AI could do it just like that... Wow. You could go so deep with it it's basically programming, but... Well, it's more like talking to an absolute master-programmer who has access to things we don't, at your bidding. There's exciting things about the impending apocalypse! Trust me, it's gonna be HUGE for musical possibilities, eventually.
Went to your show in Atlanta a couple weeks ago, absolutely fire 🔥 the super smash bros dnb remix was one of the best songs I’ve heard at a show before
I just wanna thank you for uploading so much lately! Free-form education on the internet means the world to me and many others, and you've got some crazy stuff they don't teach you in schools. Seriously, this is a crazy time to be alive for people who are passionate about this stuff, never before was this kinda environment possible and you're part of that new frontier.
you've been uploading such incredibly useful and insightful videos lately, and genuinely been a beacon of knowledge for those of us who want to further our knowledge in music production. thank you for your existence
Incredible work Professor Brunn. Quite Remarkable indeed. The versatility you have in sound designing is unmatched. Impressive as always.🧐👌🏾 I'll say if this keeps up Professor, I'm sure you'll have another banger of an album or a single, that we your students would definitely look forward to hearing. I Thank you for this and a very good day to you good sir.❤️👏🏾
So grateful for you! Thank you for making it available for free and also sharing so much knowledge all the time. These last 3 vids in a row have been such a treat!
I just loaded it up in ableton. It is SO rad of you to give this to us for free with some cool samples. I can see that this is going to be a TON of fun to play with. Thank you!
I am genuinely mind blown how this guys videos get better and better each upload. Like I genuinely have no clue how much (if even) better he can get. Wow. Just WOW. Lol
I have so many mudpies that i usually chop by hand or attach sample offet in the midi to velocity and randomize velocity but this is just so much smoother. I cant wait to run all my mudpies through this!!!!
I lost my love for music and now I am in a period where I am looking for this love again, I know that I actually love music from the inside and your videos remind me how fun and intriguing it is to produce music, so I can't thank you enough. I respect and love what you do, please keep educating us!
Dude this is the shit! ive been thinkin about literally the same idea for months of just drag and drop a long sample into a selfmade rack to spit out random stuff!! great work!
Hey man that's really cool you took that into racks and created some presets for people to use! I've always enjoyed playing with beat repeat and LFOs, I usually took the device auto filter and attached it to Rift. Thanks for sharing!
Not working in 12 Beta. Works ok in 11.. Sometimes it stops if changing parameters while its playing. Stoppung the track and restarting seems to bring it back.
this is also how i always jam. just jam on an instrument over my track for ten minutes, find the good stuff and mess with that. unironically mr bill calls what you're doing idea jams
If you haven't played around with Sabroi's M4L sequencer "AS Steps" with this mudpie oriented/randomization workflow as opposed to arpeggiator then I highly recommend. Since it's m4L it integrates with sampler and simpler beautifully as well as any instrument if youre just wanting melodic randomization. At that point manipulating the midi based sequencer signal to allocate sample offset on simpler transient slicing does a similar function. there's also the randomization functions for pitch, octave velocity and you can even randomize the length of parameter randomization duration. There's alot of similar functions that your rack creates. I use this in my work flow all the time. Excited to merge the elements of your rack to my current workflow and see how things innovate for me. Ty for this video Mr. Riot
Hard days for FL studio producers lol, im a part of them. just drag sample man serisously, thanks fo all that stuff, u put music production into a new gen. take care man
Following just in case there's a solution because I've been using this technique for months now and I've been telling my brother he has to switch from FL to Ableton because this is the future of sound design lol
Lol I was just having a sample chopping session earlier today before I watched this! It was in a rather large and messy project though so I used beat repeat on a duplicate of an existing to do something similar. Since it was several bits (each playing a small part using gate and predelay settings in the plugin) in an fx rack I was able to give each chop its own FX (such as bitchrushers and corpus) to create a lot of glitchy sounds! I was rushing to finish the song but I'm sure you could continue the random sound design streak you have going by having several chains of them set to randomly play with their oen random posprocessing afterwards!
Mom! that mad scientist is making weird noises again
This comment just reflexively made me think of Feed Me's One Click Headshot intro:

"No."

He's absolutely insane 😂. I thought I understood Ableton and then he started talking absolutely wizardry at me and now I feel like a child.
fine by me
😮❤🤘
the dj meme of "i just made this track" could turn into "i've never even heard this track" real fast with these racks
“Nobody has ever heard this track” 😂😂
Input midi notes and drums and never press play, export, release hahaha
homie really engineered a rack that can just spit out bangers... this is basically an infinite source of ideas and inspiration

I always loved VRs complextro/Electro House stuff. Looks like its time for Throwback 2
