      Making music like that feels AWESOME. Even if you don't do basically a whole track at once, just being in that flow for a prolonged period feels great. Sound design as I go is a part of that, even whole synth patches, but this is why I like to have some good go-to sounds, even if placeholder. If it already sounds nice enough to listen to to the point where writing it is basically like listening to music and hearing it develop, you've got a great start for getting in this kinda flow.

    15:12 - you can always set the cutoff to 440hz or 880hz etc and then set to key track, that way you resonance will always be in key

    • @4am446

      I’m new to production and I’m so confused can you explain how that works? 😄

    • @_madonkey_
      @_madonkey_ 5 місяців тому +5

      @@4am446 When you are dialing in your filter in something like serum dial it in to 440Hz first, and then click the key track button. That way when you change notes, the key tracking will correspond to the actual key you are pressing on your keyboard. Otherwise, you may be offsetting the pitch of your synth if you keytrack at other positions (but this could sometimes yield interesting results)

    Wow! You're making some incredible sounds with Phase Plant there! 🥰
    Just to clarify... if someone loads a preset that uses Snapins they don't own, it will still function and sound the same. They just won't be able to edit that specific Snapin (unless it's linked to a macro).
    Keep it up!!! ❤

    Hello, I just wanted to say you've been a huge inspiration to me for a good while now. I'm a blind music producer, working in reaper, but you explain things well enough that I can use some of these techniques, just have to put in a few alternatives for inaccessible plugins (surge xt instead of serum). You're awesome and I've learned a lot from you, so I just wanted to say thanks!

    Looking forward to EDC Mexico 2024 to see you again for the second time. I remember your first time performing in Mexico at EDC Mexico 2018 - thank you so much for everything; you've been a great inspiration for my music project. I've been listening to you for 12 years!
    I recall entering all the songs you played, and the one that stood out the most in your set was (Decimal Bass - Work For Nothing). I'm almost certain that among the thousands of people on the dance floor, I might have been the only one who knew it, making the track feel like it was just for me.
    But that doesn't matter; it's just something I wanted to share. I appreciate your fantastic work. Sending you a big hug, and I hope you're doing well.
