Studio time has to be one of the best series yet
agree
based
of all time
im so fucking impressed on the fact that you made that whole synthwave beat without pausing once. WHAT
the workflow 🥶
Making music like that feels AWESOME. Even if you don't do basically a whole track at once, just being in that flow for a prolonged period feels great. Sound design as I go is a part of that, even whole synth patches, but this is why I like to have some good go-to sounds, even if placeholder. If it already sounds nice enough to listen to to the point where writing it is basically like listening to music and hearing it develop, you've got a great start for getting in this kinda flow.
24:20 bro casually made an entire song in Phaseplant 🤣
and right when you thought the flex was over, hits you with a random bird noise generator as a bonus.
Hey Val, remember to add a 00:00:00 timecode to show timestamps in the video!
Ooo thank you!
The synthwave is so beautiful i love it :D
Props to you starting your sobriety journey and good luck keeping it up! These tutorials are always such gems 💯
sobriety journey? did I miss some VR lore?
Sobriety!??
Hes talking about his ott addiction yo didnt knew he was clean

Wow! You're making some incredible sounds with Phase Plant there! 🥰
Just to clarify... if someone loads a preset that uses Snapins they don't own, it will still function and sound the same. They just won't be able to edit that specific Snapin (unless it's linked to a macro).
Keep it up!!! ❤
only one of the presets is loading for me. what version of phase plant are you using?
@TCISBEATHUB Dude, you're talking to the plugin creators 😅
@@ledav-fq9tz hahah just noticed
12:15 sounds straight out of one of those sorting algorithm videos and i love it
production with no commentary was super inspiring, please more
Definitely
making sound design look simplistic and straight forward lol MAD RESPECT
15:12 - you can always set the cutoff to 440hz or 880hz etc and then set to key track, that way you resonance will always be in key
I’m new to production and I’m so confused can you explain how that works? 😄
@@4am446 When you are dialing in your filter in something like serum dial it in to 440Hz first, and then click the key track button. That way when you change notes, the key tracking will correspond to the actual key you are pressing on your keyboard. Otherwise, you may be offsetting the pitch of your synth if you keytrack at other positions (but this could sometimes yield interesting results)
Normally I never comment but I just discovered you through this video because I was intrigued by all the people praising your name in the internet - and let me say: holy sh*t! in 6 minutes I've already learned so many crazy techniques!! The trick with the frequency shift on the kick solves a problem that haunted me for years by now. Thank you!
that midi u wrote in 15:00 is so awesome
You're blowing my mind here omg. I spend so much time in Serum, seeing all these sick wavetable and filtering tactics feels like finding out about a friend's double life haha
Thanks for what you do!!
When you upload I immediately drop everything! I love your videos so much and always learn a ton of new things!
Thank you so much man!
What a cool jam at the end. Really fun to watch your workflow! Always learning something new from you
Quite literally my favorite video series on the internet! Thanks Val, you're an absolute legend :D
that outro made this whole year worth it, you're amazing Val!
What a treat at the end. Thank you so much Val ❤
Thanks for the FM tips. Your tutorials have really helped me see things through a different lens when making patches. Cheers
Its amazing what you can do with just one basic shape in serum. I love learning these little tricks from you!
We love you VR!! Thank you for dropping these knowledge gems
I'm glad you're back at it and thanks for showing these awesome tips ❤ Happy New Year y'all 🎊
THANK YOU!!!! I will probably learn this in your class but I appreciate you so much for this series. You are doing what you love and you do it well ❤
So cool to see you going deep into Phase Plant!! Very inspiring.

Thank you for answering all of our prayers 🎉 You inspired me to produce 5 years ago, so seeing your vids make my day and always inspire
Keep it up man! Really enjoyed the no commentary bit! More of those with all kind of different sessions, be it sound design seshs, working on a doodle, making samples, working on a song, mixing, mastering, whatever man as long as it is you working on something! Good on you with the sobriety - Proud of ya!
happy holidays and thanks for this amazing video

VR is the meta music production standard
best episode of that series by far!

val you are one of the greatest inspirations in dance music, thank you for gifting us these videos
Your Sound Designs are Amazing. The Depths and Clarity of Sounds you create are just something else.
Hope a Video Game Company asks you to Sound Design for them.
I love using your songs to practice sound designing, but am still trying to get the hang of it. Much love dude thanks for inspiring me.❤🤘🏾👏🏾
congrats on your sobriety journey! I too am on the same path and recently went to my first show completely sober and i still had an absolute blast. anyways, proud of you :)
I love this series! I would love all the chains/racks from the firstr project!
The best episode yet!
Really dope skill! 🔥
Thanks king! This is mind blowing...Waiting for more ❤🔥🔥
Unbelievable talent. I’ve tried hard for years to get somewhat decent with understanding serum in depth. Very challenging for me. Simply amazing man
Real awesome vid! It's got the inspiration juices flowing, keen as to experiment with some stuff
this video made my ears ring
I’m just now finding this series. You sir, I was your biggest fan in high school and still listen to this day.
I miss you so much man. Thank you for everything!
thank you sooo much!!! We love u Val!
Wow, viel zu krass! Dir am Schluss beim mixen zuzuhören war wie ne live DJ-show, du bist so schnell und gezielt. Es macht einfach Spass, dabei zu sein. Vielen Dank!
Looking forward to EDC Mexico 2024 to see you again for the second time. I remember your first time performing in Mexico at EDC Mexico 2018 - thank you so much for everything; you've been a great inspiration for my music project. I've been listening to you for 12 years!
I recall entering all the songs you played, and the one that stood out the most in your set was (Decimal Bass - Work For Nothing). I'm almost certain that among the thousands of people on the dance floor, I might have been the only one who knew it, making the track feel like it was just for me.
But that doesn't matter; it's just something I wanted to share. I appreciate your fantastic work. Sending you a big hug, and I hope you're doing well.
Thank you so much for being around, Val!
Happy to see you back buddy ❤
Thanks VR! Appreciate you 💜
Hello, I just wanted to say you've been a huge inspiration to me for a good while now. I'm a blind music producer, working in reaper, but you explain things well enough that I can use some of these techniques, just have to put in a few alternatives for inaccessible plugins (surge xt instead of serum). You're awesome and I've learned a lot from you, so I just wanted to say thanks!
Nice tricks and cool sound!
ohhh dude, i start dancing to that synthwave asmr. pls do these more. so sick!!!! thank you for doing what you do.
I love this show so much!
cozy studio production, thx you VR 🥺
Congratulations on your sobriety! Been on my own journey myself. It’s tough man but worth it!
Amazing dude, such much love out to you and what you give back to the community, congrats on getting sober man, it can be tough at times, but well worth it in the end, for me the other side of the coin is death, much love man, eyes up!
This series is legit relaxing asmr for me and obviously such high quality knowlegde (^^)
24:20 He made the track inside the synthesizer... okay
And it’s actually so good wtf
The modeling video idea sounds sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!

Commenting for the algorithm, keep em coming VR!
Genius!
YOU ARE MY HERO 🤩
Been missing your tutorial videos!!
Finally, he is back ❤
King is back!
HES BACK
Oh god he’s back. My heart. I can’t take it.
I didn't know I was watching virtual riot lol. Thanks for these tricks they are so cuteee ❤
I’ve been burnt out on producing for months, and the literal day I get back into it, VR uploads a new producer time. It’s a sign
That Synthwave bit was the best advertisement for Shaperbox that I’ve ever seen.
i love ur videos val :>
That shit with the bandpass filter was genius!
HES BACKKK!! YES VAL
bro that last synthwave track he needs to release it as a song, been coming back to this video and repeat to that timestamp everytime since I can't loop that part only lol.
He is back ❤
bro is beyond talented
30:30 Don't worry about that. they do! You just can't edit the parameters inside the snapin.
Oh sweet thats awesome!
32:33 anyone else notice the trick where he made a 4 bar loop but only designs the sound using 2 bars so he doesn’t get bored immediately??
VR is the fucking GOAT. We love you VR
why is this man so creative
Yea I needed studio time the most.
