    Even if you pull out premature sometimes you still get crabs!
    Honestly this guys content and deliverance is the best. I'm gonna have to become a patreon. Living in the Midlands UK I'd never have seen anything like this without spending all of my money to travel, and potentially come up bust or get lost.
    Thanks for allowing me to see all of your hard work, and your jokes and outlook on life make it so much more relatable and enjoyable. I wish you all the success possible going forward. Thanks

      I think PR has been known for it's rank as one of the top 10 most dangerous cities in Canada for a while (don't quote me on that but obviously violent crimes have historically been high in that area ranking way above provincial and national averages...Highway of Tears, violent assaults/thefts, etc.) but the area is beautiful to visit that's for sure! Such a diverse part of our province geographically.

    Great vid. And true as, nothing as tasty as a crustacean. We have “Crayfish” here…similar to Lobster. Very challenging to get, worth over $100 Aussie dollars a kilo, but when you dive for them, find one, you cook and eat…. Feel like a king (The brown stuff in the crab, you call “Crab Butter”, In a Cray, I’ve always called it “Mustard”…Grandpa taught me that name..delicious!)

    Happy to see The Moho Cooking Show has returned great episode re catching and preparing crab. Appreciate two things, 1) your respectful approach to the harvesting of all aquatic animals and 2) proper disposal of all finished or unwanted food stuffs. Clear ALL foods, condiments and beverages from your picnic table and or camp/picnic sites please. Failing to do so turns your camp/picnic site into to a buffet for ALL interested animals and insects. People are mystified as to why that bear, coyote, wolf or cougar etc etc wandered into their site had a meal and when finished turned to the humans close by. ALL animals are opportunistic feeders they lock on to the odors coming from your camp/picnic site. Just one encounter with the human buffet and they are habituated for life which all to often ends up as a premature death or an encounter with humans. Please be responsible.
    Great adventure thanks.

    Well done. Ethical crab cooking - wasn't expecting that + crab anatomy did not know how that worked. Smoked salmon my only real fish fav. Got introduced to the Work Channel just before Rupe a few years ago. Quite the slog in. Promised the world but got skunked. Seemed to be the where Alberta comes to fish for the years supply. Like the freezer section at the department store.

    We used to go down to the Florida Keys on the weekend to shrimp, we would sit under the bridge while the net filled. When we would pull the net, we would cook the shrimp in a can of saltwater ( beer can) on an open fire. The good old days.

    • @therebex23
      @therebex23 3 роки тому

      I was hoping someone would mention that! It's the sound of the air being pushed out between the "meat" and the shell due to expansion during the cooking process as the "meat" is kinda gel-like and solidifies when it is heated. Also, crustaceans don't have pain reflexes (they are like insects that way) like mammals who have highly developed nervous systems so even if they could scream they wouldn't because they wouldn't "feel" the pain.

There is a small white cabin up on the hill. Not a hard climb unless it’s wet then take your time. I’m not sure why it’s there or who built it but it’s really cool and a awesome view from it.

    I don't know if it's the same for crabs, but with lobsters if you don't want them to go into the boiling water conscious, you can put them in the freezer for 20 minutes I think. That will make them go unconscious at which point they won't feel the boiling water or feel anything.

    I was taught by a chef at a seafood restaurant that if you boil the crab live, it ruins the taste from the endorphins and adrenaline that are released in the 5 to 10 seconds the crab is still alive. It is noticeably better tasting if you chop the crab in half with a cleaver then immediately drop it in the water.
