      Hey by the way i would want to see more of how you did the cabin fiberglass. I don’t own a boat but i like to live vicariously. I watch a diy sailboat video series “sail life” where he does a bunch of this. I was curious how you got the bend in the roof and what was the trade off with using acrilic instead of glass. Sorry this was so long. Maybe you could even do another video series of your own. If you do send me a message i will follow

    • @christianfilloux
      @christianfilloux 2 роки тому +1

      @@bentaylor4570 the bend was via bent lamination, I was able to do my fiberglass work in a way that put the arch into it using a couple forms. The plastic windows are so that I can cut them myself, and save a lot of money versus glass. They work extremely well and the only drawback is that you cannot use wipers. I have found wipers unnecessary due to the slope of the windows and the rainx treatment I gave them

    Salt doesn't evaporate with water so it doesn't add anything to the flavour. Salt water actually has a higher boiling point so it makes it take longer to reach a boil. Also, you can just snip the sharp parts off of the crab for storage. That way you can reduce waste and bag as many crabs as possible. Hope that helps :)

    • @Doodooheadguy-fishing
      @Doodooheadguy-fishing 2 роки тому +11

      Adding salt to water increases the boiling temp. So yea it will a bit longer but the water is a higher temp and cooks faster

    • @stacysanchez6338
      @stacysanchez6338 2 роки тому +2

      quick question, if salt doesnt evaporate at all, why do windows, doorknobs, anything metal have so much corrosion near the beach? im just wondering. the sea spray isnt making it to the metal fixtures, so the salt must be getting to it somehow.

    • @ImJayceeYO
      @ImJayceeYO 2 роки тому +10

      @Stacy Sanchez Great question! Because the water that reaches structures wasn't evaporated but carried through the air. Fine mists of salt water when waves crash or ocean foam called spume are so light that the wind can blow salt water droplets to said structures.

      Don’t thaw them, throw the meat still frozen in a hot pan with lots of butter, when they are heated up and starting to get close throw in some onions, and some mushrooms, carmelize the onions and set it all aside on a plate. [you can use them for a ton of recipes from here, but the rest is how I use most of my leftover crab] In the pan start some eggs, when they get close to being done as an omelette, throw in the cheese to melt, when it’s melted throw in the mushrooms, onions, crab, and diced Roma tomatoes (I remove the snot and seeds before dicing), add some avocado slices, fold over, top with a little sour cream and if you want your favorite salsa (I prefer Herdez roasted, red or green) and serve.
      Crab meat omelettes the next day are great way to use the extra crab meat.
      (And we ALWAYS take the meat out of the shell before freezing. If you are gonna save longer than a few days we put em in a brine solution to preclude freezer burn--in theory--because we never have so much we aren’t gonna eat it within two weeks [we thought we had too much once and brined most of it, but it was gone in ten days]).

    Thanks for this episode. I love watching your content. I live on the east coast so I have to buy Dungeness crab at a seafood market. One way I like to cook them is in beer, vinegar, Old Bay and crushed red pepper flakes. The beer to vinegar ratio is 1:1. I usually buy two crabs. I clean them with the shell on. While I'm cleaning them, I pour 2 bottles of Corona and about the same amount of white vinegar into a pot to which I add the Old bay, usually about a cup and the red pepper flakes, usually two to three tablespoons. Once the base is boiling I put the crabs in until their done. Sometimes I'll have shrimp that I'll also put in the same pot after I've taken out the cooked crab. You can really add anything to the pot like corn on the cob and sausage.

    Welp....you definitely clean your crab different than I normally do. I have done it your way , but I tend to like the taste of the two center sections better , if I cook them with the shells on. The yellow ( butter ) inside is actually pretty sweet , so when you cook them with the shells on , that seeps into the center sections a bit. Those two center sections are a bit more bland tasting then the legs and claws. The " Butter " just helps a bit with the flavor. BUT.......awesome catch dude!!

    Matts, Great video as always. Christian got skills, OMG. Ask him if he wants a winter job and close in my hard top. Serious request. Keep up the great work on the vids. Love that jazz music. Great content. Mr Q
