    My hernia is right next to my groin. Over the Weeks (not months) it has grown to the size of a golf ball to the size of a baseball. Now when I stand or have a bowel movement I get a sharp pain. I've scheduled to have an operation in 6 weeks. I hope I don't have any complications during these weeks of waiting.

    Im certain I have one, yet it only hurts when I really exert myself in the gym, or when I sneeze.
    The issue lies in the fact that I'm trying to get back into top physical shape and at 54, it takes a LOT of effort. Don't want this to become a serious issue.

    would like to ask. if i press on the buldge appearing just below the center of ribcage. if the buldge is hernia should it be hard like bone or soft? when press the bulge it hard close to the hardness of ribcage bone. is it hernia or other issue. now the buldge will apprear if i clench my arm and chest muscle. is the current condition warrant a trip to doctor. so far no pain at all even when pressed hard. thanks

      Xpress, It is always difficult to diagnose patients without a proper examination. Most hernias are soft, not hard like the ribcage. Based on where you are describing your bulge, it might be your xiphoid process.

      Sarah, that's great that your husband is getting treated soon. Although this doesn't address your husbands consultation directly, this webpage may give you a general overview of hernias: californiaherniaspecialists.com/hernia-surgery/

    Please help! Tell me what to do! I got every sign of a hernia instead of a bulge, I have been twice to doctors, and they screened with ultrasound but found nothing except for unreasonably weak abdominal muscles, I got it a year and a half ago a few hours after carrying heavy weights, since then I have pain even when sitting and I have been able to do nothing.

      @@CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists I know I did not provide enough information. The main question is: "How to fix it now, in the early stage.". Yet again I am seeing the doctors.

    Hello doctor I have umblica hernia but it not restricting me from my daily activities, would I need surgery?

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  3 роки тому

      Abraham, We are happy to let patients just observe their hernia if they are not having any symptoms. Studies show that about 75% of hernias end up getting larger and/or painful and need to be repaired. Thus, about 25% of patients never need surgery for their hernia. Best, CAHS

    Hello Dr. I found out I had inginual hernias, one on each side of my groin. My Dr. suggest i get surgery done one at a time because he think by doing it bilaterial it may be hard on me. I just had my left side done 3 days ago and would like to know how long should i wait for a second surgery because im having pain on right side as well. And final question can these types of hernias cause testicle pain.

    Hi my hernia is about 2 years old, it’s ingujnal left side and I can push it in with no issue and goes away when I lie down. As long as I can push it in and it doesn’t really cause pain I can wait to have surgery correct?

      @freshprince, Patients can almost always wait to have surgery until the hernia becomes symptomatic, Best, CAHS
