Another great video Rob. I’m getting no where fast with mine 🤦♂️🤣. Been busy buying more bikes got a couple of 1980’s yz465’s coming and 2 wr500’s. Loosing motivation on my build finding time is an issue 😢. Doing my last enduro race for this year next sunday. Maybe after that I can get motivated again. Keep it up buddy there going to look awsome !!
@@Widowmakertrader thanks Martin. If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have these 3 RM’s! Doing a resto is meant to be relaxing and fun if it’s not then you know who does especially that RM500 😫
@@MyRestoration1 I did an auto jumble on Sunday, fired the RM500 up people came because they smelt the castrol R 🤣🤣. Plenty of conversations over her this weekend.
Sir big fan of restoration of a 1961 royal Enfield 350cc bullet.. upload a short video on Lucas 15d1 distributor contact brake setting to set the distributor correctly on the bike
Thank you. I did that bike 2 years ago so I’m rusty now. That said it’s a very simple system. If you know the bike in Asia it will just be setting the timing. I can’t remember the gap but it will be online. Good luck 👍
Absolutely brilliant job, I totally agree with you on the powdercoating. It just doesn't look right on a bike of this age. The paint needs to wear off on the frame. It's just how it was back in the day. Looking forward to seeing you build them. Great job.....👍
Almost Every single offroad Suzuki of the 80s with a steel frame had a gloss finish whether it be black or blue there wasn't a satin or matt frame the engines where gloss blue or satin black with some being glossy but never matt unless worn and used Hubs where satin black along with the yolks brake arms where gloss black all the aluminium bits that where clear where anodized they also used black anodizing which would turn a brown colour because it was a earlier version of anodizing which didnt hold up well to weathering Zinc plating was black pasivate which would turn a dark green colour when exposed to UV this was used on pretty much all their bolts with some being clear
@@s.a.f.r.a6403 anyone agree? I’ve definitely seen satin black on original frames and engines. I can only assume there could therefore have been variations of thinners used after all these most likely were hand mixed. Thank you for your knowledge and information
@@MyRestoration1 also alot of the Japanese companies used a product called Kal-Gard Gunkote finishes could vary depending on who mixed it up the day they where coating parts
@@MyRestoration1 my sources are from viewing many catalogues, magazines and real life experience and the second kal-gard source is from actually having used it and multiple builders including Yoshimura, Moriwaki and Kawasaki also used it during Eddie Lawsons era of racing Motorcycles

That’s the plan!
Your attention to detail in keeping it original and saving and repairing is wonderful. Always enjoy watching, thanks.
Exactly as you say!
Awesome 👌
Love the RM250G looks excellent .. the 1987 CR500RR was excellent . Actually I Raced and won 🏆 on a Brand New RM125X
Those are great bikes. That was my first dirt bike. 👍🏻
Brilliant. I know how much time it takes to restore one bike, so restoring 3 isn't an easy task.
Marvellous work loving these videos thanks. Looking forward to the Norton resto getting started again . 👍😊
Thank you. It will come back. It’s sits there staring at me…

Hello, have you a link for the primer/paint that you used ?
Can you sort out the radiator fins that have been flattened ? Or would you risk a leak. Great video as always 👍🏼👍🏼
@@gavinhill9671 yes you can by pulling each one out with a homemade tool or you can buy a special tool for the job. I’ll most likely do it
