Awesome looking bike i find it hard to believe they only go for 2,500 when the wheels alone cost 1,500 i have the 84 rm 250 but hardly ever get it out ,but it doesnt look as good as yours ☺👍🇳🇿
I’ve restored my fair share of Suzukis and to be honest Suzuki is the best at supplying OEM parts for the vintage bikes. I restored a 1976 RM 370 with 70% of the parts being new old stock OEM Suzuki parts. I tried restoring a 1992 Honda XR 80 and basically had to do it with all used parts because Honda doesn’t carry much after their bikes are 5 years old. Honda does obsolete parts program and scraps them.
I️ have a friend with a worn out 84 rm250. He’s claiming that it’s “rare” saying only 200 units were made (which I️ don’t believe, it was a production bike) but the icing on the cake is that even being completely worn out and barely running he’s saying he could get up to $10k for it. How much are these actually going for? I’m more familiar with Honda.
awesome honda Not rare. I got mine for $50 not running, needed s cdi box. It's in decent shape. Got it running and they're fun bikes. But in mint condition around here in Nevada they go for maybe 2000-2500
The bike is up on a display rack now and not easy for me to access sorry. I can say though that I believe this silencer is actually back from that period, not a newer remake. So they may not be available any more.
Great job on the bike. The Bomber Mark Barnett would be proud👍🏼
This bike came out the same year Panama was released by Van Halen. What a year!
Love it! I have the exact same bike, including the pipe and silencer.

Takes me back to high school
Who needs a power valve? Not this engine. 😁
Where does a guy find parts for these old RMs?
Lots of parts available either OEM or aftermarket

What's the number or name of your DG silencer? I can only find the pipe that fits this model. Kinda lost on what silencer to use.

did you have to replace the clutch basket, and if so what brand did you go with?
I have not replaced it yet, but you can buy billet baskets on Ebay.
