The best comment I heard about this video was from an Italian opera singer/reactor. She said she not only forgot they weren't opera singers she forgot they weren't Italian. Rob's vocal coach said years ago that he could have a BIG career in Opera. Thank God he joined Home Free.
Rob is so underrated sometimes the man has a amazing range.

I got chills the first time i heard them do this. They both have very special talents. from what i have heard Austin been after Rob to do this for a long time.
Yes, Rob was classically trained in college. Austin was trained in both musical theater and classical. This was Austin's idea and he had to convince Rob to do it. Rob had not sung any opera in over 15 years. Thankfully he did because it is so beautiful. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.

It was Austin‘s idea to do this opera project. He had to talk Rob into it. Austin said that he recorded his part, then after hearing Rob sing his part, Austin re-recorded his part to bring it up to Rob’s level. Also, they waited til the end of a tour, so their voices would be their best.
This Home Free Band is off the charts with their talent, I don't think they would have a wholesale lot of time because they're always touring it seams like . They do videos while touring, their original song they just released So Long Dixie was filmed in the Colorado Rockies . Suggestions, Moonshine, Hillbilly Bone, Down to the Honky-tonk, I Can't Out Run You, and a original Dive Bar Saints
They are both multifaceted with over abundant talent. Every member of Home Free has extraordinary talent. They make the difficult seem so easy.
Thank you for covering this! It is one of my favorites and simply shows their capabilities. I found Home Free just before the Covid lockdown and have been a Home Fry ever since. To get a good idea of Chance’s vocal ability, I recommend “Cover Me Up”, a Home Free Cover of another Alabama boy, Jason Isbell. Watch it all for a little something special.
Then watch I Can’t Ourtun You featuring Chance, he also planned and directed the video. Definitely an oft-overlooked nugget in the Home Free catalogue, with amazing 5-part harmonies.
I know they both have great, perfect voices, but this blows me away. It's phenomenal. Rob could have a career in opera, though I hope he didn't 😁

Rob studied opera in college and Austin studied musical theater although his teachers did try directing him towards opera since he's such a high tenor. Rob sang this for his father and Austin cane up with the idea of doing this duet. When Austin heard Rob he asked to re-do his part. This was wonderful. You can tell Rob had operatic training for years. Austin has his own channel that he does some great songs alone and often with Tim. As they go around the country raising awareness for homeless vets. Check Austin doing Bring Him Home from Les Miserables and Austin and Tim doin My Maria. Which also has Chris with them (the man playing guitar in So Long Dixie. Home Free's latest release. Home Free and the I dividual members are each so talented. Chance has his own channel and also sings with The Fox and The Hound. Wayfaring Stranger & My Mother told me are wonderful. So much to pick ARGH!!! You wont be disappointed by any 🤣
It's Austin, not Rob, who sang Bring Him Home and sang My Maria with Tim. BTW, I recommend reacting to Bring Him Home sung by Austin. Gorgeous. And, yes, I also think you're ready to react to Mayday!
It was actually Austin and Tim in My Maria and Austin's "Bring Him Home", not Rob. I think you may have just mistyped.

I can totally relate to what you say about not being able to sing is why you admire great singers. I couldn't catch the right key with a flashlight and a net. My voice could sour milk and my musical knowledge is non-existent. I can only absorb music with my heart. For me, anyone who is musically talented and skilled is like if a caveman saw a bic lighter. It may as well be magic. All I know is when music hits me in my heart, it's music I love. I so respect and admire it. Rob and Austin performed this as if they'd been singing opera all their lives. After listening to this masterpiece, I googled Nessun Dorma and got the English translation. It's so much more enjoyable when you understand the words and the story behind the Opera Turandot, written by Puccini in 1920.
This video is from Austin's channel. He generally releases one or two a month depending on how busy he is with Home Free. Austin and Rob worked on this for a long time. Austin had to talk Rob into doing it an Rob did it in his father's honor since this is favorite opera.

This is insane. Wow, wow and again wow. This is extremely good. Fantastic. Both are doing so great but Rob, I'm perplexed. His voice is just magical, so rich, so warm, so powerful. Chills just ran through my body. It flows into my heart. He will be able to stand with the greatest of opera singers. It's not often that I listen to songs by opera singers 5 times in a row. But here it is. Of course I hope that both will always continue to do Home Free, but I wouldn't think it wrong that such "trips" are made more often. Opera, country, ballads, soul etc. I think anything is possible..

I’d add “Some Girls Do” to the list of great Chance vocals.
They spent quite a while practicing and rehearsing this. They wanted it to be as perfect as possible.
They are touring all of the time so I don't know how they had the time to practice this together because in their brief times off they live in different states, but anyway Rob had some opera training in college, I'm not sure how much though. Austin had classical training, but not operatic training. Rob was a little bit nervous about people's reaction to this because he said he hadn't sung opera in 15 years, but he did wonderfully. I don't think there are too many that sing in the country genre to attempt doing opera so this was super special and like I said before, they can sing just about anything.

Throughout school I sang in the chorus..then in my adult years you could hear me singing regardless of where I was..probably annoying..lol...
Since the early 2000's I've been plagued with laryngitis and my vocal cords have been damaged and I can no longer sing..😞...
To hear these young men is a treat that touches the heart...thank you for your coverage of this group..they are a blessing to be sure...

Definitely obvious who had the opera training...both were great, but Rob definitely has the amazing operatic voice. I am SO thankful Austin opened us up to this side of Rob. Austin is a fabulous singer as well.
Austin sounds good here, he hits all the notes, & with some flair, as you'd expect.... but Rob o_O Rob bel canto'd the shizzle out of this with a gorgeous warm free-spinning chiaroscuro technique. I'd buy an album of him singing popular arias on day of release! :)
You both did a fantastic performance of this Aria congratulations. However no one will ever sing this better than the greatest Tenor Pavarotti. He is no longer with us but remains in the thousands of Aria’s he left behind. Once again you both did a great job

Great Reaction! I have never been a big fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy. Rob did study opera & Austin is trained in musical theatre.

Nessun Dorma is an aria from Puccini's opera Turandot. I actually like some opera and I've heard this aria more than a few times (it's one of the most popular) - they're better than some of the professional opera singers I've heard. Although they're both trained singers, Rob's concentrated on opera. Austin was taking musical theatre, which I'm sure included some but wouldn't have focused on it. I hope this interests more people in listening to opera rather than dismissing it out of hand!

Not too shabby for two 'country' singers. :) Goes to show how versatile they are. This performance will color how you see Rob and Austin in future Home Free videos. The guys received such overwhelmingly positive feedback to this, many fans are hoping for more, perhaps in collab with the rest of HF. Adam may need to fine-tune his 'orchestral' sounds. (Can't recall if it was Adam or Austin who layered in some 'violin' in one of their recent releases.)
