We know Austin can sing outside of Home Free with his solo releases but ROB....I can never look at him the same way. OMG

Rob studied opera in college, but when Austin approached him about this project, Rob admitted to him he hadn't sung it for 15 years...but they both killed it

Did you know you had your mouth opened & jaw dropped for half the video?😂 The first time I watched this was with Lyle from Patrol Nation & he played it 3 times & cried 3 times & so did I! I've watched it at least 75 times & still get teary eyed because it's so beautiful! Professional opera singers would be jealous after spending their entire lives studying & singing opera, then have 2 "goofball" a cappella singers who sing everything EXCEPT opera, come along & sound this incredible! 🤗&😘from SE Tennessee! Yeah, I have a REAL Southern accent too!😊
I don't understand anyone being jealous (for real). I'd be like, please help me do that! And yes, I love Austin's accent (I like Southern, British is 2nd!), and I just meant that his voice is unmistakable, proving this was really them!

I was talking about Professional opera singers who've been singing opera all their lives being jealous that Rob & Austin could just decide to sing opera one day & did it almost as great as the pros did after a lifetime of training!😂 I love Austin's accent too & Tim's & Chance's because I can actually understand them!😉I like British & Aussie accents but some I can't understand a word they say!🤣

Your reaction did not disappoint! It was worth the wait, no doubt! It's so funny because so many reactors has said that they didn't first believe it was Rob actually singing, but then Austin comes in and it's so clear that it's him, and a lot of other reactors have also said that they thought it would be something funny. I've been waiting for this and I'm so excited. Who knew Rob was hiding all of that great operatic tenor? I loved this and your reaction. I was also astounded when I first heard this. Austin has a beautiful lyric tenor voice that as you said can't hide that Georgia twang. Rob is more of a heroic tenor and his Italian flows so effortlessly. Thank you for your reaction!!

I did some research after this phenomenal performance. I found a translation from Italian to English and a cliffnote of the Opera Turnedot. It makes it even better once you understand the meaning behind the music.

@@DLynn I have never seen so many reactors. I think I counted 38. So many are 1st-timers, so they don't have the context of seeing these two in their band setting. Gives a number of you a huge advantage and extra appreciation for what they accomplished. Thanks again.
@@johntucker4296 (and all us other fans ) We all need to be sure we go back and watch the original video often (and not just reactions) to get the number views up. A few days ago I totaled the views on some of the major reaction channels…and it was well over 100K. Too bad Austin and Rob don’t get credit for all those views too.

Rob was classically trained in opera for his college degree but since joining Hone Free he hadn’t sang it in 15 years until Austin convinced him to do it for this video.
Years ago Rob's vocal coach said he could have a big career in opera. Thank God he joined Home Free!!!

Tim and Austin have started a side project with Chris Chatham, Jeffrey East and Ernie Hanks (all of whom are song writers), along with Tim's sister-in-law Laurie Marion (a violinist) called "Sweet & Low Music Co." They put out a couple of live streams and intend to keep doing so when they're not touring/recording/videotaping with Home Free and doing stuff on their own channels. (Tim also does fund raising for veterans charities and Austin often joins him). I'm not sure when they get time to breathe much less keep writing songs!

I forgotten how many reactors that I have stop to take in on their reactions and its the same face shock, surprise, enjoyment and amazement. Both of the gents were nervous about how well this would go over with their fans and so they lighten up UA-cam. I liked your reaction. Rob did study opera in college but hasn't sung it in 15 years and Austin has his musical theater background with some college.
@@patriciamcl54 Technically Austin doesn’t have a degree. He left school before he graduated, I think after three years. He mentions that in the BTS video.
It sounds like both of these guys need a reprise! And my face can't lie when I'm shocked!😅

@@patriciamcl54 The BTS wasn’t tied to membership tier…Austin had a separate fund to pay for professional videos for his original music that people could contribute to. If you contributed to the fund you got the BTS for the associated video. When Austin turned off this fund, there was enough for another video, and even though this isn’t original music (obviously) he felt it was important enough to showcase Rob’s magnificent voice with a professional video.
(And honestly I thought he had a musical theater degree for a long time,too)

I have often seen comments by Home Fries that these guys are so talented, they can sing anything, and with this, they just proved it! Great reaction D. As with you, I was stunned by Rob's lower and full throated tenor sound compared to his usual higher and brighter tenor range.

Great Reaction! I have never been a fan of opera except maybe some Andrea Bocelli & a few others. But I have always appreciated the talent it takes to sing opera. I was pretty impressed with Rob & Austin's version of Nessun Dorma. I have heard this famous song done by Pavarotti. I think I was more surprised by Rob's range & powerful delivery than even Austin's. Pretty good for a couple of country boys! Nice to see them dressed up in suits & looking classy.

Great reaction, & as someone else mentioned, I absolutely love seeing people react to this for the first time. I'm guessing my mouth was hanging open too the first time I heard Rob & Austin, but when the song was finished, that's when I realized I had shed tears because they sang it so beautifully, they moved me that much. 🥰
I guess my tears were my disbelief and wonder. A few more listens, and I might get a bit sentimental.

Austin did a great job, but Rob SLAMMED it! They are both great singers, no doubt. Rob has some prior operatic training, but that was long ago. But, Rob's "cred", on top of his great voice in HF, just skyrocketed! He shocked a LOT of people!
"D" don't let the opera snobs get under your skin this is your platform and you decide what you want to do or say I have always enjoyed your takes on Home Free and will support your opinion always. I too hear Italian with a country accent Rob on the other hand killed this he has definitely been holding out on us....

Rob was singing in the same register as Austin. Rob just changed the position of his larynx to make it sound richer and not to tinny.

If I remember right in thoughts/comments .. early on in your reactions -- "Rob is the glue that makes it all work" ... working the mid-ranges tying in the uppers and lowers (or somewhere along those lines). Loved your reaction. For a slightly different twist you should react to Marc Martel's version of Nessun Dorma. It's on his channel, and it's titled the "Mercurotti". He sings it in two different ways which are very clever. Marc Martel is an amazing singer. Any reactions to him would be great

I love how everyone's jaw drops as soon as they start singing. I think mine did, too, the first time I heard it. They both did a great job, but I think Rob sounds "more operatic."

Rob's classical training and the operatic techniques he used make his voice sound different from the more pop style he used with Home Free.

You don’t need to apologize for having a life beyond UA-cam and not having time to get to this video right away. I think your fans just didn’t want you to miss this amazing video, knowing how much you love Austin and Rob. Rob has shocked and confused many fans since this was released. Did you knowHome Free is going to be in Greensburg PA next week? It’s at the Palace Theater on October 12, and there are still some very good seats available. (And don’t worry if you would have to go alone…it’s a very friendly atmosphere and you might even get recognized 😊. I go alone all the time)
