Porsche Cayenne GT | A Super Car SUV?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 чер 2024
- We review the new and rare $200,000 Porsche Cayenne GT SUV Coupe. What that means is that Porsche turned a SUV thing into a super car hauler designed to tackle the track and then some. This is one of the fastest vehicles of this type in the world and will put certain sports cars to shame on the track for short periods of time. Others to consider are Jeep Trackhawk and BMW X5M.

Jack at 12:38 "I told you, you would like this fucking thing" 🤣
I'm here in the comments to make sure someone else caught that, I was dying hahaha
Watching SUVs I can't afford while emptying my system of roast beef.
Turkey, but otherwise the same.
Hawaiian roll turkey sliders
Nahh. We can afford it later in 2050.
Spring chicken here! 😂
Sounds like your Xmas was far better than me, even with the after effects.
Mark and Jack are undoubtedly the hardest working crew in the entire UA-cam universe. We’re lucky to have you gents. I hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season ( even if you’re working thru the whole damn thing!)
I recognize the Porsche Giggle from the right seat. I’ve taken people in my 911 and they laugh when the car accelerates. I’ve done the laugh shifting through curves with the PDK. Porsches are so good they make you laugh out loud.
This cured Mark's depression.
One of the very few people who can come off the track with a grin from ear to ear, only do deliver a very sober final impression.
As a person who has driven this car on track, i can say that it's the best handling SUV i've ever driven, and with the PCCB it brakes to dead stop i seconds. Amazing car!
It's awesome you guys still go in depth. You don't necessarily just put it on 0-60mph timer and call it a day. You beat on it like it is supposed to be, mad respect!
A lot of other reviewers just take the performance info from the manufacturers
10:59 😂 Mark actually says how he feels about BMW’s latest products
8:35 Grumpy old man shakes his head in disbelief about an SUV being design for the track
8:52 Same grumpy old man has a big ol' smile on his face driving said SUV on the track
Priceless.
Faster than the LFA around the 'gring. Wow.
So now imagine what these systems would do in a sports car
They should release such car one day and call it like… 911 or something
@@agreatd these systems aren't in the 911...
@@mitchellsteindler because the 911 doesn't weigh this much. More isn't better, they are Germans. If the 911 would benefit from these systems they would use it.
@@Druezy thats probably true
@@mitchellsteindlerthere is an incredible amount of engineering that go into these things. I don't know how interested you are in it, but savagegeese has an awesome GT3 video that goes into the more technical stuff.
It’s weird how they’re making track focused SUVs & off road focused “safari” sports cars. Nothing makes sense.
they are going to make a 2 seat version of the Panamera wagon next!
People are getting dumber and dumber and they just cater to them
@@williamgrover7137 nope
As you watch this huge, heavy full size SUV ripping around the track, remember one thing... it still weighs less than the Taycan!
But the center of gravity is much higher and therefor more difficult to manage.
An SUV that gets Mark's seal of approval on track? Porsche must have imbued that thing with some magic spells.
Cayenne's are special. I was always a 1/2 ton pickup guy then I bought a cayenne. They are much more fun to drive daily and fulfill all my towing needs as well.
I bought a cayenne almost entirely because of the savagegeese review. Never really understood Porsche or why people loved it so much. Such an amazing car
I’ve got a qx80 for towing but I’m hard on the lookout for a 2014 GTS with the perfect spec sheet
You're relating an experience of a half ton to a sporty suv. Wow.
Love you guys. As a person who knows they will never have the opportunity to own or drive these cars, getting to live vicariously through these reviews still gives me joy.
They usually give us a ballpark on how much the cars the review cost. I guess they figured if you have to ask how much... you can't afford anyway. Love the Savages Mark and Jack! Watched almost all their videos and most live streams. Bought the t-shirt 👕!
@Frugal Family Living ouch that's a lotta cheddar 🧀
It’s mentioned in the video description. Yeah, if you have to ask…. I definitely can’t afford it :)
@@hondahirny Yes usually if it has Porsche stamped anywhere... 😆
@@timothycc711 sadly, the under hood experience is rather disappointing. What’s with all the plastic? I want to see the dragon that powers this thing.
@Frugal Family Living I doubt any would be sold with sticker lower than 300K
The fastest SUV around nurburgring is as helpful to me as the fastest proctologist in Lincoln, Nebraska.
This car is the best metaphor of top forza drivers bringing suv to track racing and winning by miles beating sports cars and hot rods.
It's awesome you guys still go in depth.
Porsche making grown ass men cackle like little girls in an SUV around a track. 😂 I love reviews like this on track
“I told you you would like this fucking thing”
Loved that
Jack's wrong. I absolutely need this to go to the grocery store. I can't risk my ice cream melting or spending an extra 5 minutes with my wife's boyfriend's kids.
I'm always so impressed with the technical breakdowns you guys do. Do you guys put together these tech spec powerpoints or do you get them from the manufacturers?
Of course it's the manufacture. The fonts in those slides would cost you five grands
The graphics on each deck is distinct. Theyre produced by the manufacturer
@@ThisNoName this
@@ThisNoName for real? It's a cool enough font but I can't imagine paying $50 for it over similar free fonts
You guys know how we can access those slides?
You know a cars special when they are giggling from the get go of the track section
Damn, that Sound! The V-8 cabin music alone is intoxicating.
Saw one in person recently. I’ve never seen better looking wheels in my life.
True
I’ve done about 1000 miles in the 2020 Cayenne Turbo Coupe, one of my favorites currently on sale.
I’m dying to try out the Turbo GT!! Would buy one in a heartbeat if it was in the budget.
Another great one. Nice work you guys!!
I love the way you guy’s giggle like school girls, i love the fact ya enjoying what your doing. Hope you guys had an amazing Christmas.
The Porsche Cayenne GT is following Porsche long tradition of taking a "bad" setup and out-engineer it to be the most amazing automotive machine ever made. 60 years of 911 is the proof of Porsche engineering superiority.
The platform it is based on is by no means "bad". It is what it is and Porsche perfected it with the GT for this purpose.
Great vid as always, and looking lean fellas!
You guys had fun!
Good morning guys! I like these machines pretty well: I sold Porsche in the Oklahoma City market for a few years. Thanks for the look again here. Hope it was a Merry Christmas for you and your families.
Keep the vids rollin, freezing azz in Wisconsin, waiting for spring and a new purchase, hopefully there will be more inventory, 40k limit, just a nice daily, maybe a new episode
What an amazing display on engineering.
Awesome video of a car I truly wish I could afford.
Also 0:52 caption says "Interior Impressions" but it also goes over exterior
Hard to agree more! 3K miles on mine and it's been all smiles.
Congrats, good choice have fun!
Amazing review and car
Summary: when you want an understated sports car suv, this is it. Want just a flashy suv? then buy the urus
I imagine the Urus AN is even flashier, having a moon roof. 🤪
Awesome Review!
Hoping a review of the new Accord is in the pipeline and maybe the Hornet, you know, normal cars.
Great video. So informative. Keep ‘‘em coming.
Thanks for the Christmas fantasy candy, SG!
Vehicles like this make zero sense to me.
It’s not a sports car, but it’s primary focus is track driving. It’s not an off-road vehicle because it’s suspension isn’t good enough to do that, but they’ll make it higher off the ground than a hatchback. It’s not any more roomy nor practical than your average sedan, but they’ll market it as a “family” SUV.
We live in a weird world where vehicles make no sense, and yet, so many average drivers love them.
The Turbo GT is wildly loved by its owners and a car doesn't need to make sense anyway, especially in this price range. It's the "if I wanted I could" thought.
the repair costs out of warranty, with all those electronics, will be astronomical
Someone once said “if you can’t buy it twice, you can’t afford it”.
If you just need a razor sharp family car or are somehow forced into having only one vehicle in your household that has to do everything (and an RS6 is too low slung for you). I guess that's where this comes in.
Chicagoland weather doesn’t look too bad for it being the last week of December. Midwestern tropics.
LOL. The look on Jacks face while he white knuckles the grab points in this monstrosity….1 part joy, 2 parts terror. Imagine the look on the owners face when he brings his shiny new toy to the track and they wont let him lap it because its an SUV….😂
Can't wait for the Cayenne GT2 where the entire rear section is a rollcage and the door handles are bits of fabric
What a beast. I remember driving the Audi Q5 when it came out when I was just a kid and thinking it was really fast (old girlfriend's dad bought it for her as her first car, I wasn't rich and was coming from a regular Corolla). Can't imagine what driving this thing feels like. I mean, it looks absolutely ridiculous how you're handling it on the track and it's taking it just fine without you crashing into the wall or flipping it over. Engineering has gotten outta' hand lol.
Ridiculous is the best word to describe a "sports" GT with so little practicality.
If you have never experienced a race car you will think this is a proper race car!
That's one fast VW Touareg!
OMG I thought this stupid comments would never return again. Yes these cars share some parts but there is a huge difference nonetheless. Hell the first 356 Porsche had lots of VW beetle parts and was a whole different car!
I only live about an hour north of Autobhan country club but it looks like a world of difference in terms weather. I think I am going to need to take a ride down there to get some of that summer weather.
as fast as an lfa.....that's absolutely insane!!!
But not much faster than a Honda Civic!
@@deaningeveale7265 hue hue
@@deaningeveale7265lmao it beat a Civic Type R by 10 seconds on the Nurburgring weighing 5k pounds 😂 It even beat the second gen NSX at the same track. That’s just embarrassing.
I love this car 😍 omg !!
Awesome SUV! Porsche is great!!!!
Much better team with Jack. I liked turbowski, but i like the research Jack puts in more....
Despite these companies ditching fundamentals of light weight, low centre of gravity, it's unbelievable how good these high-performance SUVs have gotten.
Patiently waiting for Urus, Stelvio Quadrifoglio, F-Pace SVR videos. Happy holidays Mark & Jack! 🎄🎄🎉🎉
Uranus and Jerkuar P-Face SeVeRe?
That other thing ... I can't even work with that name! 😆
I can give you a breakdown of the Quattroformaggio right now: light and airy and nimble and perfect on back roads, also the radio is old in a shitty way instead of a charming way, but that's easily overlooked once you realize you don't need to look at any of the actual alfa radio bits since it has carplay
Look for this thing to be lightened to the point where it competes , and possibly wins, big off road competitions like Paris-Dakar.
Marge would love this thing!
Friend bought exact same color combo turbo GT. I drove it and besides it being as solid as a tank, comparing it to a C8 I totally agree. Having driven both what would I take? The Turbo GT all day long. But it cost almost 3x as much as a C8. Something to think about. Plus the 2 extra seats!
I got a feelin' it don't come cheap
I got a feelin' and then it got to me
It took its time to work it into my soul
I got to believe it come from rock 'n' roll
I got the og Cayenne from 2009. Feels small next to a GMC Denali HD and many other vehicles in America.😂😂😂😂
Wonderful work! This car is just bonkers when you think of all the work put into it.
Also, does anyone know the song playing at 8:40 Track Impressions?
Shazam says Elfl - At the Crash Site. They definitely picked that track on purpose. Haha.
Glad you pointed it out; I am digging it.
Thanks!
Testing for all the heavy EVs in our future. I guess this is good news
It’s not
@@RossEnzo Why wouldn't it be?
Not a future I want to see.
Porsche will find a way to stay pure.
@Eff yourself There will be tons of EVs that handle horribly too, so if those suit you better...
@@ghoulbuster1 I guess that depends on your definition of "pure"
WOWOW
Loved thay trail off from the drive with the comment - wish I had a bigger budget
Can’t wait to see all the moms on track
They sure can make a boat go, turn, and stop nowadays but the consumables are brutal! Abysmal fuel economy, $2k sets of tires, and +$5k sets of brakes. Even if you can afford it, do you really want to?
In my Turbo GT i am getting right at 19-20mpg on average (split between city and highway). That isnt THAT bad. And the Carbon Ceramic brakes will last over 100k miles...much longer than I will have the car. So yes, I could afford it, and yes I did want to. I couldnt be happier with it. It is an amazing vehicle that does everything great.
Funny thing people say Porsche does not build sport cars anymore, yet they don't know these VAG Porsche (SUV + Panamera) are the bread and butter to keep the Porsche "Sport" cars going.
The Panamera is a Porsche only breed, has nothing to do with VAG (except the window motors maybe)
Well Done
Looks like fun
Porsche makes an off road 911 and a track Cayenne … the end of the world is near.
PS Can you get all terrain tires? Bombing along chasing (passing) Dakar would be fun.
This is the performance SUV to buy if you're a driver, period.
I cannot believe I've said those words, but here we are I suppose. No I could never afford such a behemoth but I'd love to have a go in one, even if it had to be shotgun. And honestly it looks subdued compared to it's rivals and the styling is growing on me. Incredible review as always; longtime viewer of the channel.
I’ve heard the DBX 707 gives this a real run for it’s money in terms of driving feel as well
@@brechtxt8096 I've heard the same thing. The DBX 707 is a compelling vehicle but wildly expensive and honestly not as nice to look at.
After Stelvio
If you're a "driver" why would you ever buy this in the first place? Can't be for the utility argument
@@papa_pt That's a very fair argument, and one I agree with 100%. I myself would never buy it given the compromises and thousands of other ways to spend $180k-$220k after the inevitable options but I can see two reasons off the top of my head:
- Someone who wants a 'utility' vehicle that can go like stink around their upper crust town in Colorado and rip up the gently snow-dusted hills and mountains to flex at the ski resort. Or, more understandably (and most relatable for me):
- Someone who wants a modern-day speed 'experiment' that just doesn't make sense and is compromised but yet somehow works. Porsche is the only company who could make such a package like this and make it move so good, and that someone knows it and will be willing to pay up.
You know, I have a big problem with performance SUVs, they are flawed from the start to be fun, and if I buy an SUV I don't expect ot to be agile, but the Ferrari Purosangue is the first performance SUV I actually like and now I know why 🧐 The Cayenne, the Urus, etc. Kind of are "Modified Audi Q7s" but the Purosangue is more of a "Modified GTC4 Lusso" which of that is the case, explains why it isn't as compromised on the fun side of things 🧐❤️
With that said, this Cayenne Turbo GT looks like it's probably the best of the other ones :),
Always like that you boys are listening to Cake
Many cayenne s and base owners have experienced (rennlist forum) a driveline vibration when approaching 60mph, did you experience any vibrations on the turbo or GTS models? Seems to be a widespread issue across many 9Y0 models
We all can afford it if we try and work hard! Good luck!
and after you hit 90 mph , the song Erika comes on the soundboard with distinctive Prussian gusto !!! 😊
Amazing performance but it needed a complete exterior redesign, 2 years ago.
Why build it? Because they can. Or perhaps they're testing out what can be done with a five thousand pound machine for the road/track like say an ev. Put a battery pack in it that lowers the center of gravity and have some regenerative breaking and you have an ev Porsche that is going to perform at that level that buyers are used to. Great video guys!
There is a Panamera GT coming...THAT will be the one to have.
Also I'm waiting for a proper track sedan from Porsche. Even the name Panamera GT sounds killer
Hey Mark and Jack! Any chance you can review supra manual?
Want to see one of these hooned off road
Love your new opening music!
Can you review the new updated corolla sedan please thank you good day sir ❤️
I would say this looks like something Dodge would make if they had the same price target but Dodge would spent the extra budget to add another 200HP and get another .5s down the quarter.
I judge how good a vehicle is by how much the guys giggle.
Hello & gweetings Z Republic of Cebu 😉
when did you guys film this?? looks like summer...you forget to upload it?
watch out costco parking lots !! the GT is coming !!!
Porsche to Chrysler SRT engineers : hold my beer. At double the insanity, double the price.
German engineering lads, German engineering. And whenever the school boy giggles start, we know it's a beast of some sort without further commentary. 👍😁
Overheats though the Esclade Blackwing didn't.
Where’s the Mugen RR video you guys mentioned months ago?!
It's an amazing accomplishment, but to be honest with the limited passenger and cargo space, I'd rather have a real car like the M5 CS that would be fast and way nimbler on track with a bigger cargo area.
Never been a fan of this traditional Porsche interior and it’s surprising to see at this price point when the Taycan is not only cheaper but the interior center screen/gauge cluster setup is infinitely more attractive.
Taycan interior feels incredibly cheap IMO.. like a JLR product. Cayenne interior is a step up, 992 911 trumps them all.
The giggly girls are back !
