I've also been a fan since 1963 when I was a junior in high school and my friend Naomi lent me his first two albums with a death treat if I didn't return them lol. I listened to them for 2 weeks every day before I returned them. Talk about mind expansion with his words. Never heard anything like that before. Did you ever check out his artwork and see how good he is that also. H is paintings of Americana are phenomenal. He also does welding sculptures. Such an amazing all around talent. Stands by himself.

@@williammeek765 The Rod Stewart ripoff of "Forever Young" is not the same song by any means, but is clearly an intentional (though sloppy and vague) semi-copy of the Dylan song...though it sounds like the four (four of them!) "writers" credited with it simply took a bunch of separate lines out of the Dylan song, threw them in a bowl to mix them up some, put them back together randomly, and then added a few more lines of their own, changed the tune and arrangement, and pretended it was a whole new song. No original thought was involved there, that's for sure. It is a reasonably good pop tune, but they should not have done that.

Quick story about this song. I was a member of the Executive Board of our union as was Lenny Drinkard from the Ceveland office. We both had sons about the same time in 1992. I was also the editor of the union newsletter. The newsletter was published quarterly and went to everyone from the Secretary of Labor on down. It was not easy to get people to contribute so I put in a lot of the things that interested me. I did an update to the union membership and started with this ( I kept a few copies of every issue but they are in some unopened box from our last move) I'll paraphrase. We have two new member of the union and I listed the names and dates of birth. I wish them what i wish for all our children and then posted the words to this song. @Bob Dylan Surely he has a gmail adress where is name isn't even available. And surely one of the greatest writers of his time expresses his love for random people via heart emoticons. Under comments about deceased people. Classic Bob. He probably also uses email to advertise "unique business opportunities". How does Dylan make a living and not work in an office all day? The answer, my friend, is probably Herbalife.

I grew up in Southern California in the 1970's. Sometime around '74, my pops bought "Planet Waves" out of the Gemco bargain 8-track bin. At the time, we were shopping and loading up for our family vacation to the Sierras. Mom only let us listen to the good stuff after her "little helpers" kicked in and she was zonked out in the front seat. But once she was gone, it was Zeppelin, Stones, Hendricks, and Dylan. He was a WW2 vet (Crew Chief for P-51's on Okinawa actually..) who loved James Brown, Nina Simone, Hugh Masakela, and everything Rock and Roll. Listening to "Planet Waves" I remember him telling me, "Hey, really listen to the words of THIS song son..." So i did. Of course it was "Forever Young". I'll never forget it. thanks Bob! ✌✌& 💕💕👏👏🍻🍻😎😎
