Man, this conversation is so good on so many levels! What really gets me, off rip, is how contrasting your perspectives are as two friends. The way y’all respect each other is pretty dope, in my opinion! I can understand the perspective of both women though. What separates the two is hope. That’s what I see. I met my man at 29 and I had 4 year old twins from another man. He opened his heart to all of us, even though he didn’t have any children. We now have a child together and he’s the most amazing/hands on father. We are all entitled to our perspective and preferences so I hope everyone gets what they’re looking for!

Elle is speaking FACTS 💯 many people are too afraid to see reality for what it is, she's not willing to remain living in a delusion. & Unless you're in a similar position, you would not understand.

Here's some questions and tips that can help both ladies, especially Elle:
A) Knowing the concerns that the kind of men you want have about marrying or being in a committed relationship with a single mother, what compromises are you willing to make or have made to lessen those concerns?
B) What are you offering him that would be advantageous to him or that sweetens the package despite your baggage?
C) A man getting with a single mother in long term relationship puts himself at a huge disadvantage right off the bat. What assurances do you offer that would affirm to him that he'll not be biting more than he wants to chew?
In other words, how do you reduce the effect of the following on his relationship with you?
1) He is immediately thrust into a position of responsibility without authority for a kid or kids that aren't his
2) He is bound in that relationship with another man (her baby's father) that he'd rather not see
3) One of the major reasons why a man would want a wife is because he wants kids. He might not have the option of getting his own kids from her either because of age or some other reason that she'll come up with. How do you reconcile that?
4) Her time, right off the bat, is 100% dedicated to her kids
5) The kind of man that they're looking for, would want a woman that would get on his program and vision, who isn't too opinionated/quarrelsome or with trust issues because of her past experience with her exes and, or baby daddy.
6) Expecting him to take on the responsibility of getting her a baby sitter while still dating (this right here, tells the man that he'll never be a priority for her: a huge red flag. If you're going on a date in hope of building a long term relationship with a man, get yourself a baby sitter without involving him, especially since you're both just getting to know each other)
Until you can offer remedies to the above the difficulty would most likely remain or get worse.
Relationships are a give and take. The reason a lot of women, especially single mothers have a difficulty getting men to commit to them is because most of them only think of what they're getting from the man and how he's able to solve their problems or check all their boxes without considering what the man they're looking for wants in a woman and how they can make themselves that woman.
It's disingenuous to say "I'm healing" or "I'm working" on myself while you're looking for a man who's already worked on himself or is already made.
Any single mother who doesn't want to have more kids would have a better shot with a single father. It would be unrealistic, unreasonable and cruel to want a single man who doesn't have kids of his own to commit to you with all his attention and resources and yet doesn't get even one kid of his own from you. Come on! Let's be realistic and reasonable.
If you find yourself in a challenging situation, you'll need to repackage what you're offering, including whatever comes as a baggage with you, in a way that doesn't make the other party feel like they'll be at a huge disadvantage if they choose to be in a long-term relationship with you.
It's either they make adjustments and compromises that reduces these concerns for a potential suitor, thereby increasing their chances of getting the marriage/relationship that they desire or, like Elle said, get some horses and cats and live your life as you have it, or continue to believe, like Elle's friend that some simp would be dumb enough to commit without considering the enormous challenges that comes with a single mother's baggage.

If you are a successful person single with children and you enter into a relationship with a young person without children do not expect the young person to want the responsibilities of children. Moral of the story is if you're a women with kids that want a high value man (which is a combination of at least 2 of those traits: good looks, money and status), you have to make more effort to convince that man that you're the one because at face value you may look like a liability. Thats the simple honest truth.

I'm married to my 1st EVERYTHING. We met when I was 11 yrs old and he was my 1st boyfriend 1st kiss all that. Our oldest is now 21 and I've been a stay at home mother. I recently learned how to drive... That's how old school we are. Other men try so hard especially when they hear my situation. But i don't necessarily think it's for my true self. People want to take others happiness. My husband and I have worked hard for years to build a private happy life! Men think... Well all the hard work is done so now I could steal her and have instant gratification. I barely have friends because other females think the same way. I don't have a perfect life but I work hard to stay happy. I had a good father but I didn't have a mother. She only talked to me when she was all out of attention from men. That is why so many are in bad relationships, single, and get exploited. If you have never been wealthy, you can't speak about what wealthy people do because you don't even know what goes into becoming and staying wealthy; you are from the outside looking in. You get what you qualify for if you want a Mansion, but you never had the money, credit, or job and have never been through the process. How can you even speak about it? And listening to people who haven't either. In life, they shame the elite 1%, but the reason they do is because most will never be in that 1%, so it is easier to demonize; some will dream of being there. Is the possibility there that you could? Yes, is the PROBABILITY that you will - NO. If you screwed up your credit in the past, you would have to work 10x harder than someone that didn't just to get to the basics, your 500 credit score may allow you to buy a Benz, but your price will be much higher than someone that has a 700 credit score. Any excuse you provide is irrelevant. Your credit is your history, all the things you have done will add up and you will have to deal with the consequences which may be being single, dealing with trash people OR if you have put in the work required and then you may qualify some day, but the thing is most don't do or want to do the work, they will talk a big game, tell them whatever makes them feel good and paint a pretty picture but faith without work is dead!

This was troubling and painful to watch.
25 mins in, I realized L/Elle (sorry) is the closest female version of myself that I've ever seen. It's spooky.
Many ppl don't understand that when you give your heart to someone and they brutalize it by demeaning, belittling, manipulating, and then betraying you with infidelity, it can cut deeper than a physical wound.
Sometimes the wound doesn't scab over and begin to heal. You become bitter and untrusting, specially if it happens more than once.
My heart breaks for her bc I can relate to what she's feeling. Everything she said rang true in my own life.
I don't know how this ends for her or I, but, it's good to see that she has supportive friends.
My only request is that you recognize that her hurt is real and should be respected and not seen as a fault of her character.
Unless you're a professional, don't tell her what she should be doing, she already knows that, and don't get angry when she's stubborn about her feelings, but rather, walk beside her as a good friend, a good listener and sometimes, just a shoulder to cry on.
