The NSX was ahead of its time, when it came out the only other hybrid supercars were the holy trinity.
Yes
The only is the time they took man
Peter Maduoma for now
These two got the money but at 3:09 it’s obviously that they don’t know enough about cars. “Mid-engine hybrid in the mid-$100s”, BMW i8 says, “am I a joke”?
@@lordmaster5522 i8 is cool but does not come close to the nsx in performance
aoescool they were saying mid-engine hybrid in the mid-$100s that’s like the holy trinity, so the NSX AND the i8 fits that equation with performance aside.
Two great cars
Both 0-60 in about 3 seconds.
One is just $100k more than the other
I love how unbiased he is. Most Corvette guys bash the NSX without fully understanding what it is.
IKR
Seemed to me he was more excited in the in the NSX seems to me he'd rather have the NSX... I know I would👍🥰😁
Thank you! 💪🏻😁
If you are a real car enthusiast you realize all cars can be interesting.
@@jbp122 exactly couldn't have said it better myself
Nsx is one of the most underrated supercars ever
Nick Chechakos. Yes, So fucking underrated ! And it is extremely horrible and sad !!! :( :( :( HONDA - THE POWER OF DREAMS, HONDA FOR LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!
Nah, it’s dated looking and the interior sucks, too. It was such a stupid car.
Herbert no
@@jpve76 who cares what you think
2 cars that have taken a different direction to get to the same result...great performance. Thanks for sharing.
Not really same result
dave palmerton sake same result but one starts at 1/3 the price
@@BMWROYAL one is 5 year's old and still whoop C8 on a track
@@BMWROYAL That's for sure.
@@saleh-dt3qj And almost nobody buys it and I doubt it's faster on the track.
Both cars NSX & C8 are gorgeous cars. So nice to have other car enthusiasts being apart of the channek!! Keep these coming!! 👍👍
The NSX has a better nore timeless design.
yea but NSX's are overpriced if you ask me, they are asking too much, that's why there arent many of them on the streets
@@mr.2cents.846 u do realise NSX is like 3 to 4 times as expensive as C8? looking at starting price
but yea i agree somehow NSX is looking better to me at least to outside, inside is C8 always.
I have a '17 NSX and absolutely love it. It drives so well.
same, agree
Do you have a instagram? I would like to ask some questions about the NSX
You must be Michael Dell ‘s son 😄
Seiko Watch Sadly, no, we're unrelated.
Stunning vehicle
Lol if Michael Ceras Arrested Development character was into cars this would be it lol
Lmao why
ROFL
guess he made some money from the banana stand.
@@juanmontoya2814 He sounds and looks like him 😂😂
Definitely my first impression!! :D :D :D
The fact that it's like McLaren p1 with having the electric motor take over when shifting is amazing
The C8 Zora is rumored to be a Twin-Turbo V8 hybrid with 1000 hp.
I can't wait to see that !
That gonna hit the quarter mile in like 9.6 stock I bet..0-60.probly like 2.5
The Grandsport is also rumored to have a hybrid set up
Chevy wont make it they will be lucky to survive the next 5 years without more government assistance, which they likely would get....AGAIN!
@@lexusrcflover9175 if the base stimgray does 0-60 in 2.6, i highly doubt the 0-60 will be only 2.5. .
Also a 9.6 ? I figure if it has more horsepower than demon, significantly more at that, and considerably less weight, the quarter mile should be lower than 9.6. .
NSX has all the right lines and curves, it looks much better than the C8. C8 is the much better value however, if i had the money, NSX, but i don't, so C8
I think the c8 looks better personally. It has a unique and sharp look to it while the nsx looks a bit bloated in its shape.
Vince Phan... I agree with the looks... also C8 tail lights look like a cheap Camaro and the interior also looks cheap compared to the NSX
I just wish the Corvette designers had looked to the Italians for influence rather than Toyota. The C8 has some genuine styling errors, like how the bottom of the engine intake lip 'almost' touches the rocker panel character line. As if each element were designed by different groups in different rooms. And why the sawtooth element under the front bumper? Radar evasion?
@@bertg.6056 lol I thought it looked like it took inspiration from a modern day stealth fighter... maybe you're right 🤣. I really love the c8 r with its gray and yellow livery though.
2017 NSX with almost no miles is similar to 2020 C8 new based on what is available second hand market. NSX will depreciate less also than new vette. We all know where vette prices are going, its very predictable. Nicer Vette versions will be come available, and the base models will so be forgotten.
Saw my first NSX irl last Saturday on Topanga Canyon, it was black like this one.
I got the opportunity to track an NSX last year, and they are so much fun. Fast, responsive, and at 6'2 I actually fit in it.
If both were the same price i would take the NSX still today
Well if “still” means you previously would have taken the $160,000 NSX over the $60,000 C8, than obviously if the NSX were dropped by $100,000 in price to match the $60,000 C8, you would still prefer it.
@@MrDSVids considering that the NSX its a older car and that despite its incredible technology it came out overpriced when first introduced. If the gap in prices was smaller. I would take the NSX . Yeah the corvette is better value for what it is. But then again the NSX its in a different league of innovatíon . Its a japanese mini porsche 918
@@alfredocorleone9068 well said
I wanted to see a drag race soooooo bad..
So do I
12sec vs 10sec.
@@endlesstwisties lmao yea, no
F20s both of these cars can run low 11’s to high 10’s
THe nsx would smoke that c8
This was an awesome video, dude.
So refreshing seeing folks who are passionate about cars and can enjoy each others rides, even with different vehicles.
Carwow drag raced a GTR vs NSX. The NSR destroyed the GTR all around.
But is carwow, plus that NSX was a euro spec which is 250lbs lighter than the US model. In the US they are dead nuts even
Lol what part tho. They both usually clocked at 10.8 sec 🤷
Both are great. But as someone who daily drives the C7 I don't want Chevy to go the route of the NSX. For me part of the appeal is that it's such a great car but still a fairly practical daily driver with the storage space and low maintenance cost.
The Corvette is the best car for the money, but it really isn't an accurate comparison. The base NSX nearly is 3x the price of the base Corvette, and will not be cross shopped. However, I really liked the video.
They may not be cross shopped but both of them are in my garage.
More like 2.5 times the cost at msrp, but..... with manufacturers discount you can get a brand new base NSX for only 2 X the C8; and that's only if you're not paying the markups for the C8. Bottom line is the NSX is really 10x the car ar the end of the day.
3x the price is what you pay for being early. The nsx got a lot of hate when it first came out but it was ahead of it's time when it did. Now so many supercars are going hybrid like the nsx.
True but I have been crossing shopping the C8 convertible with a slightly used 2017 NSX which is coming down in price and will be at around $100k by the end of 2020.
I agree. However with people (and dealers) price gouging the C8, a lightly used NSX would be an option. Acura reliability, comfort, and proven platform. C8... never by the first year, first gen model.
The corvette is certainly the less expensive of the two.
😂😂
Corvette’s are my favorite cars of all time and have been since I was a kid. But even then I’ve also always liked the NSX quite a lot too. So much to love about the two
Love the NSX.
c8 zr1 all the way
So the electric motors kind of act like a supercharger, then the engine switches on and the turbos start spooliing...Dualcharged Acura NSX
Yea i was going to get another Lotus Evora but get the 2020 GT, but I may have to seriously look at this NSX, I wanted a McClaren 720s but they have so many issues im staying clear, well see how my stocks do but im already can grab the Evora GT but no point in the winter and 2021 will be a new year for value to go down and make room for 2021 models

C8 is nice but I'll pick NSX....that is this is 4yrs old technology and still kicking...for $164K base
you get what you pay for....chevy crap or acura perfection. like they say the oats that come out of the horse are cheaper than the ones that go into it!! lolol
@Trevon Adams v8 silverados? V6 accords ? Not the same nature. A truck v8 vs a v6 accord honda hahah cmon guy
I would also pick the NSX without a doubt.
C8 is much cheaper.
@@atx-cvpi_99 words of a pheasant lol. look at the material they put in the car . do your studys lol
Did you get footage at the track? I'd be very interested to see how they compare there as well.
The funny thing is that, the C8 is already old. If you watched the GM documentary, they were working on the C8 in 2014/15 which is the year the C7 debut. So, right now as we speak, GM is working on the C9!!!!
Nsx has a 2020. If gm cant make a c9 fast enough then its their fault. Whats your point?
Duhhh captain obvious
@@zeusrem565 and the nsx type r hasnt come out yet
It’s like the Lexus LFA beautiful car but was released late
Well done! Great idea to compare👏👏👍
and (for my taste in a sports car) the NSX simply looks better than the C8. NSX rear exhaust ports are centered, where they should be on a performance sports car. Wish I could afford an NSX - I'd buy one.
Great video. Content, enthusiasm, eloquent (except for "trippy") and professional. Travis also rocks. Keep it up!
Dude had to pick the most dangerous course 😂
This is so cool two car guys with equally interesting and fun cars getting to experience both cars and share their opinions. great video!
The NSX has the misfortune of being displayed the first year at the Detroit Auto Show near the new Ford GT. The car may as well have been invisible as the crowd only had eyes for the GT. People ignored the NSX completely. I like it and would have considered it if it was priced like the C8.
Vinny Booboo If Chevy can make an affordable sports car then so can Honda. The reason the NSX didn’t sell better is it’s overpriced.
@@sheneedsme over priced? The NSX hits 0-60 in 2.7 seconds. Add that to its track performance and you'd be hard pushed to find the same performance in cars that cost 2 to 3 times more.
Rob Lockhart There are C8 You Tubers that have beaten those times in a car that cost 1/2 as much. Clearly the Corvette is a much better value when you include price and performance and by that measure the NSX is overpriced. It might be seen as affordable compared to a Ferrari but certainly not compared to the C8.
David Force ....the ford gt borrowed some of its most prominent design cues from the NSX (flying buttress and integrated side sill) and Nissan 2020 (rear). Ford quickly revealed the 3D printed GT concept the same day Honda revealed the production version of the NSX on purpose for the aforementioned reasons. They want others to believe the gt was all original or congruently developed without the others knowledge. Not true. The NSX's design had been out for the better part of 8 years. Everyone was already tired of seeing it when the official production version was revealed. No so with the Ford GT. That thing has japanese dna in it wheather they want to admit it or not.
Rob Lockhart I’m a car guy. I get 4 different car magazines. I have owned brand new Ferrari’s and other exotic cars and being born and raised in Detroit with 5 brothers I have been around classic muscle cars all my life. I knew about that NSX and was excited to see it at the Auto Show which is why it was shocking to me to see such a great car with incredible new technology be completely overshadowed and basically ignored because crowds of people were awestruck by a Ford. Of course it’s mostly a Ford in name only. I seriously considered the NSX but I looked at the performance numbers so comparable to the Vette that I couldn’t justify the extra cost for a car that didn’t look as exotic as the Chevy, at least for my taste.
I only wish you would have raced those 2 phenomenal automobiles in launch mode and from a roll.
Otherwise, a great drive review of both vehicles. Both are impressive in their own way. Nothing beats the value of the C8 though.
Once again you made a great video great comparison this a video i have been waiting on..

I always love seeing him take the NSX to the tracks up here. More people need to get those cars, so cool. Great comparison!
They're more than a C7 zr1.. They're shit for the price
@@carguy0389Tell us how they are shit?? Hmmm...
@@carguy0389 They're expensive but they're also a lot more exclusive than a C7 ZR1. In 3 years of production I've only ever seen 2 NSXs on the street. I saw 2 ZR1's last week.
Boblib1970 Less than 3000 C7 ZR1s made. NC1 NSX total production is right around the same number at this point.
Not much of a comparison... The NSX is Miles Ahead!
The C8 is basically a Wish version of an entry level super car. Cheap parts, cheap design and just cheap in general. That's how we roll in the good ol USA.
Austin the NSX is some awesome tech. I could visually see the torque difference when u got in the C8. The NSX like a small Tesla rocket.
@Glenn W, But yet the BASE Corvette has seen better 0-60 and better 1/4 mile times? How on earth did you visually see that wrong data? And definitely not even close to a Tesla!
GREAT video! Don't see many NSX's out there. I think we just got a little preview of what the C8 ZR1 will be!
I think Zora is the only hybrid. ZR1 could just be V8 only.
You mean E Ray?
@@evilformerlys4704 No, the Zora is supposed be a 1000hp hybrid AWD.

Your video quality man .....you should be at million subs +
Keep it up man
I didn’t take you seriously with how young you are but you have definitely proven yourself

Awesome collaboration. Unbiased review from both car owners and drivers.
When SpeedPhenom was speculating about a possible next level exotic car to consider adding to his garage, I wondered about this hybrid NSX. It seems be another be another everyday driver that would be very comfortable on the track, as is the new Stingray. The NSX is considerably more expensive, but it seems to feature some cutting edge technology. Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised to see SP checking this car out.
@SpeedPhenom I was just now notified about your video two days late. I wanted to let you know that. Otherwise, great content as always! 👍
I owned a C7 Z06/07 for two years. I've owned my NSX for two years. Both daily driven through two Canadian winters. The NSX is the superior vehicle. Hands down.
Most American cars are good for temporary ownership. Japanese for longevity. Overall quality are also superb in Japanese vehicles and this is coming from an American.
@@ronaldcharan2705 Japanese quality now sucks.
A C7, isn’t a comparable discussion, not worth mentioning.

Awesome intro scenery!
I wanna see a track battle between these two cars, with Phenom behind the wheel!
I would agree, but after the Z06 is released.
The intro looks like a movie. Nice effects btw
The corvette interior and exterior is just so much nicer!

What’s the price difference between the two ?

Enjoyed the comparison. Fun...
I think the new NSX is very underrated. Roughly the same tech as the 918 but toned down a notch. Being a Honda, i have no doubt that its extremely reliable and can take a beating!
And unlike the Corvette which will undoubtedly Fall Apart as it ages...
It's already being recalled for the frunk flying open on its own🤭🤣😂
Greg Pavitt except for the fact that Honda recalled NSX’s for the crossover pipe couplers between the left and right fuel tanks may leaking. That’s a 185 thousand dollar car compared to a 59,995 dollar car,
omg i can FEEL the electric power
like a Ryobi weed wacker
lmao
Another great video!
Awesome location brother? Thank you for sharing
I find the styling of the NSX bland and lagging behind it's tech. Also a lot of us were hoping for a modern version of the old car, a usable, relatively cheap everyday driver. The Corvette is the NSX I've been waiting for.
I look forward to a mid engine hybrid C8 Grand Sport in a couple of years just after they build a Z06 for this new generation. I don't expect it to go up to the mid 100k's until you start piling on the options but lift and magride should be standard on to Grand Sport if it makes makes it into production.
The Grand Sport as a hybrid?
He should have let John experience the C8 with the roof removed. I prefer everything about the NSX, but the removable roof of the C8 means a lot to the ultimate decision.
Sweet Video, Where was the race...lol...Both nice cars, but ill take the Corvette! And for the Corvette...It only gets better, being this is the first model. Cant wait for the next Corvette!
Enjoy GM💩 recalls🤣😂😂😂😂

That was a good video. I expected their opinions to be exactly like that - that’s how I would think the two cars would differ
Very interesting! Are we going to see those two cars together in Laguna Seca? That would be a blast!
Wow, very cool comparison.
NSX=New Sports Car Experience. Still living up to that name.
Did I miss it? We saw the real world 0-60 for the C8, (2.8 that day) what was it for the NSX?
Intro was well edited!
Travis raised an eyebrow when experiencing the c8 launch! I think though, he likes the nsx more, it is incredibly beautiful with a stunning interior...Thats the steering wheel a vette should have.. I was hoping you guys were gonna do a drag and lauch them both from a dig to see how they compare
I like the corvette steering wheel way better. The nsx wheel looks aged and basic in my opinion
When are you going to test @ Willow springs next ? Would luv to see you on cup2(r) tires! 1:27s is my guess. Do me proud, i got a 3 figure bet on this lol
That was a cool one Dude!
Is this the Z06 or stingray? In this video it sounds like the stingray, in your Dino video it sounds like the Z06 so Im not sure?
Thanks Travis!

That was a cool video!
The C8 Corvette is the first Corvette since the 70’s that actually looks good. Chevy always sucks at styling and interiors but they finally did something right with the C8. Even their trucks interiors are lacking.
