Woodturning - The Iron Bound Oak Bowl

  • This brown oak bowl gets bound with an iron ring! The oak is rough turned wet, then dried in the microwave in preparation for the ring. I put the ring in the forge in order to get a consistent fire scale finish all the way around, including the weld. I have tried hot fitting a ring in the past and the results were disastrous.
