For someone with moderate hearing loss and tinnitus, is there a single wristband for that? Also, how do I get the wristband in the UK?
Thank you for your valuable sharing, Dr. Ben! (Tinnitus for the last 6 months...) I will research this device, for sure!
Exciting product- I'm going to try it. I want to throw another helpful thing into the conversation: I've noticed that any time I go out to see live music (with earplugs in), that my tinnitus is noticeably improved for a couple days afterwards. I think it could actually be the same principle at work, as my brain is taking in both the auditory and the significant vibrational information coming at me - in other words, bimodal stimulation! Now granted, this is just my own experience. I'm not going out to super loud shows, just moderate amplified music, usually rock and roll in a bar. But it's been kind of a helpful miracle in my case, to discover that live music eases my tinnitus for a few days and can often help to end a flare-up. It sounds counterintuitive, but it has reliably helped for me! Good luck everyone, sending my best to you and your life in sound.
Yes...I am interested!! Even if it took my tinnitus down a couple of notches...would be liveable. This would be a Godsend if it worked!! Thank you so much...Dr. Thompson! You are so encouraging!!

@@rafaelhorna868 my high-pitched ringing tinnitus got better after second covid-19 shot. Then it came back a week later. Then it went away and now it's back again. Probably coincidental.

@@SplusAV do you have an update if it helped?
If it were more affordable I would want to try it, but I can't afford it. Perhaps the makers should have considered making a few of them available to audiologists for patients to try out...I've been plagued with tinnitus since I served in Vietnam back in 1968. People who don't have tinnitus have no concept of how it feels to "hear" the ringing in your ears over the noise of a Harley Davidson's exhaust at 80 mph, or to wake up in the middle of the night "hearing" noise that isn't there. It's very frustrating to suffer with something that is so difficult to make others understand.
In our world, silence is a wonderful concept.
I've had tinnitus for most of my life and know where you're coming from. Not quite as bad as yours though, I can hear mine over about 90db noise, thats average highway traffic. I've learned to ignore it most of the time.
@@Neuralatrophy I could "hear" my tinnitus over the sound of a Harley Davidson motorcycle at 80 mph. It's always with me.
@Bill wouldn’t it make sense stop riding Harley to minimize Tinnitus?! My buddy’s Legion Rider group disbanded, all to minimize Tinnitus!

I find it weird that Lenire needs FDA approval, yet this product you can just order online. Lenire works similar, but with tongue rather than wrist. Maybe I’m missing something…
the other one uses electrical stimulation and the wrist band just vibrates a bit, maybe that’s why

Want to thank you Ben, for your experience for buying, these devices, and all the time trying and finding out all the information you need to know for your vlogs. Amazing and a massive thank you from me.
Keep up the Amazing work.
For your questions ,
I would try it, as troublesome tinitus,, looks and sounds promising, 10min to use this is fantastic as peaple are so busy.
My son shared info on the Neosensory Duo from Ted Talk, and Rollingstone Magazine article. He is keen on getting the device for me to try out, as I too suffer with Tinnitus. Although I was very encouraged by both the Ted video and the magazine article, my first thought was to check with Dr. Ben Thompson. I am very encouraged that Dr. Ben is actually trying the Neosensory Duo and although I would like to wait for his review and comments, I am actually thinking of trying the Duo myself. My Tinnitus began about two years ago, and likely a result of my early days of flying very nosy aircraft. In the beginning, it was definitely a form of torture, however with advice from Dr. Ben and others, I have learned to accept Tinnitus, and am learning to live with it daily. I find that my Tinnitus has 3 different frequencies and ranges from a scale of 1 to 10, with 4 to 6 most common levels. Will peak at 10 when I am upset or annoyed! I use 'sleep-phones' to help with sleeping, however would certainly like to not have to use such, and the Neosensory Duo could possibly help with that.
I would definitely try this. Even a small reduction in my tinnitus would be welcome.

I'll consider anything that truly reduces this situation in my ears.
Hello Ben,
I just started having this problem In one ear not to bad, it Mild ringing, and I’m trying to find more information about tinnitus, I actually order this yesterday, I will trying it and updated you,
I’m also in California but LA area.
Nice video! Very interesting. I see how this could help with tinnitus by increasing the focus on external sounds through an extra sense. Also, the average improvement of 15 points in the TFI in the vast majorty of subjects is amazing. That's more than lenire which is ridiculously expensive and alot more complicated. I've had tinnitus for about 10 months but doing much better these days. My tinnitus has already decreased alot with a good amount of effort but i've never heard of this product before. Might look to get one as it's simple to use and looks beneficial. If i'm distracted by other sounds or simply not thinking about my tinnitus, i don't hear it. This device seems like it could help with giving that another boost.
It woks
Have to admit, i'm a bit dissapointed in the pricing. It's not that expensive to produce something like this.
Hi @BeatBass . You said you have been better lately. Hope that is continuing for you. What would you say has had the most positive effect on you? I'm almost 12 months into high-pitch tinnitus (likely from hearing damage).

I’m on my 3rd day of using my Neosensory. First day, no change. Second day my tinnitus was screeching. Third day it seems like it is getting better. The crickets screeching in my ears seem to be a little calmer. Not sure if this is helpful but when I do the Neosensory and the musical scales go up, I take a long inhale in and then a long exhale as the scales go down. I had read that breathing exercises can help tinnitus so I just try to couple them both at the same time. I enjoyed your video very much. I will try to keep my Neosensory reviews up-to-date as I continue my 30 days.
Thank you so much for your comment, Nancy. I appreciate that! I'm glad that you're getting better!

I have been to the audiologist and tinnitus is a recent piece added to my life. It doesn't keep me from sleeping and often find myself not bothered by it when I am busy, but it gives me concern for long term. In a quiet room, it can get very loud and bothersome. Dr ben...do u or did u have some sort of hearing impairment. What was it and how did or do u deal with it? Just curious.
Interested in this for my tinnitus. Do you know if health insurance pays for it?
I have had tinnitus for at least 30-35 years. I have moderate hearing loss but not ready for hearing aids yet. My tinnitus is a constant high-pitched whine which is slowly and progressively worsening. Recently I experienced the addition of a constant, low-pitched hum. I actually am seeing my ENT in a couple weeks and will question him about this product. It sounds like something I'd like to try but I'm waiting until after that visit to make my decision.
To be honest, i doubt your ENT knows anything about the device. From my personal experience, and those of many online, ENTs are pretty useless for helping tinnitus patients. I would recommend getting in contact with Neosensory personally and seeing if they recommend the device for your type of tinnitus. Also, Dr Ben does online consultations and he can probably give you some more useful information about the Buzz.
Are they available in New Zealand??
I'm going to give it a try.....
Alicia did you help you?
I would try this , I would probably Put 1 ear bud on your left ear and 1 ear bud taped to the watch so it’s not played out loud. .
Hi Ben, I hope you see this. I got my buzz and had my first session. It seemed to buzz the entire time the tones were playing. I thought it would only buzz in sync with the tones. But maybe some tones are out of my hearing range but the duo can hear them so it buzzes. I guess I could perceive some tones in sync. How did it work for you? Do it seem to be buzzing not stop for you even when the app was making no sounds? Thanks!
I am deaf in my right ear (since birth) and have significant hearing loss in my left ear. On top of that I have pretty severe tinnitus. I wear a hearing aid that helps with the tinnitus a little bit but at night when not wearing the hearing aid it's extremely loud. I would love to try the buzz but unfortunately it is priced very high.

@@Vulcansrule6969lol it's actually making a huge difference for me. I highly recommend folks try it. For example, one night my tinnitus was spiking so badly that I couldn't go to sleep. So, I used the neosensory for 10 minutes and it felt like taming a lion. My tinnitus was much softer afterward and I was able to fall asleep. Overall, my tinnitus seems lower and I notice it I'd say 15 - 20% less.
@@DallasRico that's wonderful thank you. Looking forward to it!
They thought I had ménière's disease and now likely not. I have it every day. And I already have anxiety going on over 20-plus years. I'm looking at this with a very big possible try. I think the idea makes loads of sense. I just had a balance test finally. And a new hearing test that I'm waiting to hear about on the 22nd of December. So I'll let you know if I get to try this. I also have pain-like pressure in my ears. 🤞🤞🤞 I need something to help. I can't always meditate well with my anxiety and the tinnitus being so extreme at times
What about Central Auditory Processing Disorder, do you think this could potentially give CAPDers a boost? Since the pandemic I can't lip-read anymore. Which is what my audiologist recommended despite the fact I had Oticon hearing aids programmed for brain hearing. So I lost a mode. I would like to add a sense.
I have unilateral hearing loss, 100% deaf in one ear from schwannoma. I use a Cros and it helps but not in noisy areas. Could this help supplement my speech understanding?

This is exciting technology. I would definitely try the band for moderate hearing loss if it was more affordable. Perhaps they will eventually be able to offer it for less? I would also like to know what kind of guarantee it comes with and if there is insurance to repair/replace in the event of loss or breakage.

I've been using this for about a week so far. I think it has had a effect in that the super high-pitched tinnitus is much calmer. I've also noticed that I'm not as bothered by tinnitus overnight. Prior to using this is would often wake up in the middle of the night and notice my tinnitus being really loud, now its notso bothersome. I've also worn this to a classical music concert, which was quite fun feeling the music as well as hearing it, and i figured it doubled as sound therapy anyway. On the whole i'm cautiously optimistic that this is having some benefit. I'll definitely be sticking with it for the next few weeks and hope the improvements continue.
Any updates?

Hello YES I would be interested. I just read about Buzz in Eagleman's Livewired and looked up Neosensory wristband, It would be extremely nice if the cost of trying the Buzz were offset some by health insurance. They want to "rent" you the product for 2 months at $300/month and then send it back -- what? won't it work after that? will 2 months give you as much "improvement" as might reasonably expect to achieve? Would wearing it 24/7 provide any better results than 15 minutes a day? I have so many questions before I shell out that kind of money - I am 78 and living on a fixed pension and don't like throwing $$ away with some kind of assurance of at least a degree of improvement. I am 78 and have had tinnitus since my mid-30s and I am tired of it.
Hello Ginny,
in their FAQ section they give this answer:
"What if I’m loving the program and want to keep the wristband?
If you’d like to keep the wristband and continue to use it after the 8 week program or anytime your tinnitus symptoms flare up, simply don’t mail it back. We’ll charge you for two more months of rental price, and after that it’s yours permanently."
I understand that they will charge in total 4 months if you want to keep it: the first two months (after which you get your money back if not satisfied!) and 2 more months (if satisfied and you want to keep it). Depending on which scheme you choose you will have to pay either 249 $/month or 399 $/month.
I have moderately serve hearing loss in my left ear with normal hearing on my right but I don’t even notice my hearing loss I’ve been diagnosed since November and still yet to notice any difference 🧐
Same with me. But I do notice it in noisy environments. Otherwise, I don’t notice it in quiet environments.
Any update on this?
How is it possible that there are virtually no comments or reviews on this product since 2021? What is the follow up on this? What are new studies suggesting?

I just started using Neosensory Duo and am concerned it's making my tinnitus worse!!! Is this a possibility???? After 4 days of using, my Tinnitus is sounding much louder!!!!!
I wonder if the app will allow me to filter frequencies 🤔
I’m really interested in it, but here is my question. Does it work for those that have tinitus based on neurological disorder as well as those who can be treated with an oil or pill Tx?
Currently, Neosensory Buzz is considered “open candidacy.” Anyone may try it. There is not yet data to say it works better for one population vs. another.
Ben did it lower your tinnitus????
i'm curious have there been cases where it took the tinnitus away completely? I could see it taming it a bit. Also, if it's taking out, or down that frequency, does this mean you're also loosing that frequency when listening to music or something? thx, very interested
Most people hear some degree of tinnitus in quiet places, so no there's not many cases where it goes away completely.
Can completely deaf people use neosensory along with hearing aids at the same time?
Or must they be used individually?
Somebody please. I would ❤ to get these for my father in law as a gift.
I'd recommend contacting someone at Neosensory directly for specific questions about using their devices in conjunction with hearing aids or for individuals who are completely deaf. Here's the link to their website where you can find contact information and further details: neosensory.com
Too bad I can't buy in Europe, you're a great Doctor.
Thank you, Jovana. As of right now, Neosensory currently only ships to the United States. I'll provide an update whenever it's available outside of US. :)
Does the frequency of your tinnitus coincide with the frequency of hearing loss one may have?
If it is under 300 or covered by insurance, I would be willing to try it for sure! I've always found comfort even in a vibrating playstation controller and having that extra sensory stimulated. I do have regular tonal Tinnitus as well as Hyperacusis, and I am wondering if this would do more for hyperacusis?
£249? THIEVES!!
$250 a month and they say you need it for 2 months so $500. That's outrageous for a vibrating wrist band and an app that plays one set of sounds.
That's a really cool idea
Can only be used for two months

So this wouldn’t help someone with reverse slope hearing loss - what I struggle to hear are environmental noises such as a car running, furnace, refrigerator, dishwasher, etc.
how much cost ? Available in Asia ?
Hey Tahmid, thank you for your comment. Check the link in the description of this video for an updated price on the product.
I'm wondering what percentage of tinnitus sufferers are hearing external noises, and what percentage are generating the sounds either in the ear or in the brain - maybe that accounts for the ones who don't benefit from it? I'm sitting here in my desk chair listening to a high-pitched whine that almost drowns out all other background noise. I can spin my chair around and other sounds vary in volume as I turn toward or away from the source, but this loud whine is constant. Your thoughts, Ben?
If it is recommended to wear it for 60 days, why do you only give a 30 day window to return? How will you know if it truly worked as suggested, if you don't have the time to return it before the time is done?
Seems kinda scammy
I had the same question.
You would know if it's working for you. If there's no improvement in 30 days there will be no further improvement in 60 days.
@@Vulcansrule6969lol "You would know" is the worst medical answer ever.
I don’t understand. Will this device help reduce the buzzing in my ear?
Likely not. Try Treble Health instead.
@@treblehealth I appreciate the reply, thanks, I’ll take a look at that
Very interesting! This only pay $249 each 2 months?

It’s hard to hear my own thoughts, literally, I can’t think right
I have a friend and he is deaf and mute in born. Will this device can help his disability?
Unfortunately, Neosensory is based on bimodal stimuation, so they rely on the vibrations and auditory input to help manage tinnitus. This device would not be a good tool for someone who was born deaf and mute.
